My old school zillion ( pre clicky drag ) has a spool not much deeper than the skip and pitch. Gotta run it with braid which is fine. Braid to leader for everything but cranking so not so relivent, but it'll sure sling a lure a mile and smaller ones at that. Not a light lure but it slings weightless senkos, dingers really, farther than any reel i have. Coastal is a close second. Maybe because the longer pinion rod where the zillion has bearing on spool and a quarter inch of pinion rod exposed. Maybe its the deeper 150 spool that makes it lose a few feet on the cast. Holds 5 times ghe line as the zillion. Tourny pro is highest $ lews reel i own and next is custom speed spool. Also great reels. But I can't compare a $300 and $350 diawa to a $200 lews reel. Might try a newer one next time a reel goes down.

Hello, in regards to the Daiwa Coastal 150, I bought a shallow spool for lighter lures. It casts 1/8oz on up with no problem. I have 15 lb, 4 lb diameter Original Power Pro braided line spooled.

@joepicasso69 it's a wicked good reel. When the coastal won't throw it my zillion will. Best reels I've used yet with Shimano a close second. Amazed what tge coastal will do with the 150 spool in it.

@@matthewotis3594, agreed. I do have 4 different Zillions all left hand retrieve. Type R, limited edition 50th Anniversary, Coastal and TD Zillion H. Also the Daiwa Fuego, all old school, pre T-wing. I did also get a shallow spool for my Zillions, I can swtich out with any of the Zillions and Fuego. The Coastal TW 80 looks very interesting, and if I do get that reel, I'll get a shallow spool also for it. I do like the blue color on the Daiwa Coastals.
