This is why I resonate with this song. Perfectly explains my sons mother and I when we were still together. Took over a year of constant love and hate that was too strong from both sides. We were literally crazy for each other. But now I look back and I have no idea why. She’s just not my type and I’m not hers. We’ve come to peace with that, and it’s still a bit rocky. But my son has both of his parents and we’re both mentally more fit to care for him.

This version is so much more expressive and emotional than the album version that is on tempo and on pitch. The imperfections are what make it so beautiful. I keep coming back to listen to this over and over. There is more than enough overproduced robo pop out there. I hope the producers for the next album let more of his raw sound out. This is real music.

Darlin you don't ever want to be able to relate to these lyrics... it's more then emotionally deplorable , it comes with mass confusion humiliation, physical scars mental and emotional ones too! Try to figure out what it means to trust someone and then how to do it! Something you automatically think is instinctive.... I know everyone has their own interpretation, but for me, I heard word for word what it is like to love someone with mental illness or addiction. The weight of our love is so heavy and for a lot of people can be too much. I played it for my husband one night before bed, to put words to what I felt he’d feel after so many years of loving me through serious mental illness. He said “Except I’m not going anywhere. I’m never going anywhere” Words that mean so much to those of us who know the weight of our love 💕

Ashlee Hanscom Radio 1 don't like too many artists of a similar vain so instead they push the ones they already have more heavily. Artists like James Arthur and Sheeran will be the focus and there A list stays pretty much the same all year round. There DJ's also just aren't as clued in as they want to believe. It's why bands like Amber Run where left in radio darkness while bands like Bastille got loads of air time. He's gaining ground without radio play so it isn't too bad that they ain't giving him a chance just yet.

The lyrics "Every day I'm a slave to the body", hit me SO hard. For real, it hits me right in the chest and makes me tear up every time he sings it in the song. I'm only 29 but I have a rare connective tissue disorder and I've been home bound and in a wheelchair for the last 6 years. I always say I feel like I'm a prisoner in my own skin...ugh those lyrics man, they get me.

@@rickiayela Ricki...Hi. You wanted me to share my thoughts about your music. Well, to be honest, I hear a soul with talent who's holding back from letting go. Letting go as in allowing all of your emotions and untold verses out. You believe in your voice/talent more than you believe in yourself. I think if you can find a way to sing with your whole self to the world, not just with your voice, the way that you do when no one is around, you'll shine through.
