RIP Lewis Collins , a genuine thank you for your Entertainment. Cubby was wrong , you were not to aggressive in your Audition, 1981.....beyond you should have been the new James Bond . ...

I always thought Lewis Collins was a fantastic actor and a wonderful person. The producers of the bond movies should hang their heads in shame after they never made Mr Collins, James Bond. ‘ Who dares wins’ Was a fantastic film that showcased Lewis Collins off to the world, it’s such a shame his career fizzled out. RIP Lewis

I'm a huge cult tv and classic film buff for many years and that theory that some , rather only a few actors have the ''it'' quality is in my opinion so true. Well Lewis had ''it'' in spades .

@@steffanhoffmann8937 who's that ?... the very much over the hill Roger Moore, we're talking about the early eighties when Collins auditioned

@@peterfranks6243Following Connery's portrayal, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig have assumed the role. So I'm assuming that Collins, auditioned for the role, that was eventually filled by Timothy Dalton. Roger Moore's first portrayal, was Live and Let Die in 1973. Personally I think Collins acts badly. Brocolli was right....he was too aggressive.

@@steffanhoffmann8937 Collins auditioned in 82, because Moore's contract expired with Moonraker in 79, so he was lured back for each movie BUT they still auditioned each time.

I thought he was really good in the Professionals series&would have certainly made a Top Notch Bond..But one time i saw him being interviewed with Elaine Page( i think they were doing some kind of Musical together) and the U.S was mentioned &he responded with 'Well 'Americans are weird anyway' 'which was quite a rude &silly throwaway comment...But i was thinking i hope this was after his audition? And if it was,u could understand he might have been irritated and frustrated with not getting the part( quite understandable&i've never been a fan of Mr Craig.Connery,Moore and Pierce Brosnan👍)& DC would have made a good Villain..But as much as Lewis would have done a fine Job,&i got the impression he enjoyed Acting&the action stuff, but not so mucy the silly interviews &perhaps he would let his feelings known a little to obviously!..And ironically where did he end up living!
