Villa fan here. It is properly sad that non big 6 clubs that have spent abit have to basically just swap youth players to lessen the impact of PSR. Absolutely can’t have loyalty to local lads because the shite rules have made it so that there’s an incredible incentive to sell them. Clearly seen that these transfers are firstly driven by the need for PSR compliance although personally I think Tim will do brilliant for you, strikes me as a player Dyche would have a lot of fun with. Haven’t seen much of Dobbin but I’m hopeful about it from what I’ve been told by some Everton mates, how would you lot rate him as a player though?

He just needs to play, Alastair, and at the moment our sitch means Dyche can't afford to give him game time and allow him to grow. Unai can so, with Villa not having a left winger, he will get the time he needs with an at the moment, better team.👍💙

Villan here, I think this is defo accountancy tricks. I don't know how good your guy coming our way is so it remains to be seen who will benefit more from this from a footballing perspective, if either of us do at all! Iroegbunam is no great loss to us really. He was a million miles off our first team last season and was only really played when we had a fixture pile up and an injury crisis. He played DM, usually off the bench and never really made much of an impression. Away against Ajax he got lost on the pitch and looked out of his depth. Emery demands players with immaculate passing abilities and he just hasn't got that in his game. In the right team he could become a decent player in a season or two, but don't expect much, he's raw.

You're a joy, aren't you. Other Villa fans on here have completely contradicted you. So, good riddance.

Poor transfer, this lad has great potential and looks very good. I am very disappointed. How does it suit PSR? Unless I suppose, we got more for him than we paid out and keeping Branthwaite clearly better than losing Dobbin, very sad to lose Dobbin but this is where we are at. Suspect he will come back and haunt us. A future England player, deffo

He's an academy player. We get full credit for the sale price for PSR purposes, while we amortize the purchase price for Iroegbunam over the life of his contract (4 years I believe). This is basically just a trade of players, both of whom have shown flashes of quality though won't be expected to start regularly, but are young enough to have an upside. The cash is essentially neutral, as both transfer fees are in the 9-10 million range. The key is the positive effect on PSR.

The lad should have been given more of a chance to progress, another young talent that's become a victim of the running of the club that has been a shambles, new regime ASAP

We’re helping each other out with PSR , pure profit in the pot for the departing player then the player coming in is spread over 5 years or whatever . Villa & Chelsea seem to be working together too £37.5 mil Maatsen then they sign Kellyman of us for £19 mil, £19 mil for a kid who hasn’t started a premier league game….pure profit
