*Sir Lewis Hamilton now!* He's the undisputable G.O.A.T of F1, hands down. The best driver in this sports history, simply spectacular! Perfection incarnate, he's just a legend. And above all, he is a _true champion_ both on and off track. A gentle soul and kind man, humble and strong. (Physique like a Greek God too) He is a grandmaster on the track, battles clean and hard but fair. A rainmaster, relentless pace, tenacious hunter and brilliant in defence. GOAT qualifier too, any condition, any track- he's probably broken a few records there. He is _THAT GOOD._ We are so lucky to be alive to witness incredible, unbelievable drives from Lewis, every time he steps into his car he makes it memorable! He deserved a whole lot more respect than many F1 fans are willing to give him. I hope he doesn't have to die to gain godlike status- because he is a God already. I don't usually write such high compliments for anybody. But Hamilton wholeheartedly deserves THE greatest admiration and praise.
7:20 that was Robert Kubica, he suffered some minor injuries but survived, and returned 2 races later. He later suffered a near fatal accident in a rally in 2011, but again survived with some damage to one of his hands, but went on to return to F1 as a full time driver for Williams in the 2019 season.
Not only is Lewis the first Black driver to win a GP, win a championship. He's the current GOAT, statistically. Many who aren't bias against him also see him as one of the best overall drivers full stop. To top it all off, he is the ONLY black driver to ever race in F1.
And still the only black driver in formula one. I keep hoping to see someone else coming up in formula 2 or 3 but nothing yet. It’s an expensive sport to take part in so I wonder if it will ever happen.
Lewis is british, so I guess hes always been good with dealin with the rain. BTW during the rain, you said it helped hamilton but hes on intermediates, which is slower as mentioned by the narrator compared to other drivers who had full wets, but seems like hamilton had other ideas. Hamilton is the first and only black driver in formula 1 history up to this date
lewis and michael schumacher are co-goats. hard to decide between the two bc theyre very hard to compare. there have been many other incredibly talented drivers that definitely deserve their spots as legends but no one compares to those two for me.
I agree, era's are too different to make a proper judgement. The only statistics to go by are race wins and pole positions but even that isn't fair cause they only had like 12 or 13 races a year back in the day, with many F1 drivers doing Indy, IMSA, Le Mans and other disciplines on the side during a season.
@@alexplays2314 Msc said when Hamilton came on the scene ( and remember Lewis was driving for Mclaren) that the only driver he can ever see taking his title as the greatest is Lewis- I think Msc knew what he was talking about
When you ask about best driver I immediately think of Michael Schumacher. Then Sena and then Lewis. I havent seen enough of the races older than that. Those 3 could be put in any order based on different skills and accolades.
Goats are lewis and MSC because they are the most accomplished but best to me would be senna. Some people could argue that certain players had better skills or attributes than mj, kinda like that
That is why the monaco grand prix is so boring. you can be 3 seconds off the pace and have no chance of getting passed. Also the tires at the end of the race is because they are so hot that they pick up rubber. The racing line is clean and does not have anything on it. Off of that line there are "marbles". They are the little circles of rubber that come off of the tire. They try to pick those up at the end of the race. It adds weight to there car to make sure it is not under weight after the race. The heat in their tire collect those and melt them back onto the wheels. It would be horrible to race o n them but the close tolerances in F! mean picking up a number of those after the race could be the margin.
This year Lewis won a race from the last position (P20). His drive was absolutely epic and overshadows his German P14 -P1 victory by quite some margin. Consider having a look
@@Luca-jo3mk once again, 2 different races: he started the first race last and finished the second race first, at no moment in the main race was he last. Lewis Is clearly one of the greatest drivers of all times, but going last to first in a single race isn't something he has done yet. no one yet has won a race while starting last on the grid. the only ones that i remember who have done it recently after being last during the race are Button at Montreal, Ricciardo at Baku and Perez at Sakhir
@@josephguillerey4391 but the sprint is no race, its a quali. Or it‘s a longer race. For me it‘s one race but a bit longer. So he drove from p25 to p1.
it's a smaller race and it was awesome to get from P20 to P5 in a short race. but in the actual race, he started P10, not 20, not 25. I'm sorry if i'm beeing so stubborn, i just love stats, but we need to use the correct ones, otherwise they become worthless (which is the reason i was fuming when F1 went to 25 available points per race, now the total points scored in your career don't mean anything since a win as late as the 2000s only gets you as much points as P5 now)
Lewis won 1 world championship with McLaren in 6 years. He left in 2013 because Niki Lauda convinced him to join Mercedes, replacing the retiring Schumacher. He has since won 6 championships with Mercedes
Rarely mentioned, but Hamilton did replace Schumacher and then went on to equal the 7 championships in the same seat. Like the baton had been passed. Quite an anomaly that.
Lewis spent the first 6 years of his career with McLaren. He narrowly lost the '07 title, ( which would have made him the only rookie champion in F1 history ) but then narrowly won in 2008. In the following years, McLaren failed to give him a reliable car which is why he moved to Mercedes. The move to Mercedes was seen as very risky at the time since Mercedes weren't even a Top 3 team when he decided to sign for them. The 2013 Hungary win I actually consider to be one of his very best. The '13 Mercedes car had a major flaw in it's philosophy which was excessive tyre wear in race conditions. Usually Lewis and Nico would be lightning fast in qualifying but their tyres would wear to shreds after a couple of laps into the race. The same was expected to happen in that race at Hungary ( also considering the fact it was extremely hot that day ) but he was somehow able to keep his tyres alive and keep much faster cars behind to take his first win for Mercedes. Also, I would recommend reacting to his 2018 Singapore onboard pole lap because it's truly breathtaking.
You say that but Jenson beat Hamilton on points at his time at McLaren big 3 seasons the car was capable of winning, Obviously it wasn’t a rocket-ship like the Merc, But a lot would of done the same in the day equipment I don’t feel like he’s fought for one championship and 08 was so lucky He’s good no doubt but it’s not as amazing as people make out hardly ever been toe to toe fighting
To understand who Niki Lauda was, watch the film "Rush". It's an incredible film and truly shows just what Niki stood for. You won't regret it!! If you want to really understand how good Lewis is, watch his GP2 2006 season... in cars that are the same he destroyed a highly talented field including one of the greatest 'come back' drives in motorsport history: the Turkey 2006 GP2 race...
Niki Lauda is a LEGEND. you should watch his top 10 moment of brilliance. he also had a movie made from his life titled Rush you should go watch it in your own time
Number 1 you did say the rain helped out but they all had same weather conditions it was impressive because everyone went full wets he was on inters which got to have 50% less grip 👍
15:38 - That's Niki Lauda with the red cap. F1 legend, multiple world champ from the 70's/80's. Whole film about him and James Hunt called "Rush". Great film. Lauda was an executive director at Mercedes trying to help them build a championship winning team. He convinced Lewis to leave McLaren and take Schumacher's seat, which turned out amazing for Lewis!
The crap on the tyres at the end of the race was what they call "marbles". Marbles are small balls of solidified molten rubber that comes off the tyres especially on corners. It collects off the racing line, but at the end of the race the drivers sometimes go off line to drive closer to the crowd on their victory lap. They drive over the marbles which stick to the almost liquid hot surface of the tyre, and it's the marbles you can see stuck to the tyres. Hope that helps with your growing knowledge. ✌️♥️🇬🇧
Chaz I think the biggest thing to understand is the crazy difference in speed of different constructors. In his last year at mclaren they were fast but unreliable and in 2013 his merc couldn't keep up with the red bull. Since 2014 he's had by far the fastest car which means his competition had really been his teammate. Seb posed a threat in 2018 but not for too long. 21 is the first year a car has come close to the merc.
You said that if Sir Lewis Hamilton wi s from 14th you won't know what to say how about give him his due deserve and address his as Sir Lewis Hamilton. Thanks a million
Hes a great driver, but most of those championships with Mercedes were due to the car being insanely faster then everyone else. That whole Era merc dominated. It wasn't till the last year of those regs that redbull caught them. Niko rosberg beat him out in the same car
Here we go again, so Bottos or Nico weren't driving that same car? And also he left Mclaren (a faster car for Mercedes) when Mercedes weren't even racing 😳 He was told over and over again he was an idiot for doing that by the media at the time and was ridiculed for not not winning anything for a few years. Lewis, I'll stick by my decision and we will do this. Give the brother props,
He’s no doubt a great driver but let’s be honest , he’s had the fastest car by a long way for that entire successful period. Put Alonso in that Mercedes’ for all those years he’d be just as successful , possibly more wins. I love F1 but the lack of championship contending cars in this decade has been very disappointing. This year Red Bull have had a car that still isn’t as good as the Mercedes but close, and max has 9 wins to Lewis 8. Max in the Mercedes would’ve already clinched the championship imo. Lewis a great driver no doubt but car pace is everything in F1. He’s been in the right place at the right time. Fair play to him as well. Hopefully we get to see him in one year drive a mid tier car like Alonso at Alpine and see what he can do without having the fastest car by a mile.
Niether, MSC- Lewis has now won more races and had more poles. Ayrton died so we can say it's tragic but statistically he is not a 7 times world championship. Opinions are one thing but facts don't lie
The best Driver I have seen was Senna, but if we are talking the most successful over a Career, ...it's Lewis NO DOUBT. He is brilliant and his number of championships plus his ability, make him a strong GOAT candidate, but on Pure ability, I have never seen anyone better than Senna, but Lewis is the closest in terms of that, and has done it for longer
In Germany 2018, Hamilton deliberately cut across the pit entry grass onto the track which is against the rules and he should’ve gotten a 10 second penalty from how obvious it was. FIA instead gave him a reprimand, which is basically a warning. From all the times the drivers cut across the pit entry, only Hamilton got away with no penalties.
Just not true at all tho is it. He got the warning because it was under safety car, if it had happened not under the safety car he would of gotten the penalty. Also it was 2019 not 18.
@@sandalphoncpu So the stewards got the call correctly then? He wasn’t given the penalty in 18 because there was no bollard, then in 19 they’ve changed it so if it happened again there would be a penalty?
Lauda's cause of death was unreported but he was undergoing dialysis treatment for kidney problems at the time of his death, he's also had a lung transplant just 8 months earlier.
@@ItsChaz24 have you already checked who Niki Lauda , F1 champion was? his lungs were burnt in an F1 race crash back in 1976 - we had not been as lucky as Grosjean was in 2020 and Niki inhaled the fire/hot smoke, was severely burnt, but self pity was very far from him. a legend (some has already suggested it here: you may want to watch the Film about his life, with Chris Hemsworth : movie title: "Rush"
