Lex Fridman is actually an astonishingly bad interviewer. Not even just in terms of refusing to ask tough questions or offer pushback, but in that he doesn't even seem to be listening to anything Trump says. He just asks a question, let's Trump ramble nonsense non-answer, then asks another unrelated question. He could be replaced by a sheet of paper with the questions written down and the interview would be the same.

Lex has an obligation, as someone with a large platform, to hold his guests accountable and to call them on their lies. He allowed Trump to evade every single substantive question, ramble, spread misinformation, and so forth. Even worse, he posted obvious campaign propaganda (the immigration chart), so he and his team had time to super-impose fact-checks at the very least. This just illustrates how spineless Lex is, and why nobody should value his contributions.

Remember when Will Arnett was on the office to apply for the manager position and he said "I can't just hand you my plan if you give me the job you'll get the plan"? This feels like the exact same thing we're living in a sitcom

Re: Arlington, the issue is threefold, I think. While you are allowed to take pictures in most parts of the cemetery, you are NOT allowed to politicize the visit or the pictures. Staging a photo op with your campaign staff, and then posting the pics/videos as campaign ads on your social media to promote yourself is a violation of federal law. That's issue #1. Additionally, there are sacred sections of the cemetery where you are NOT allowed to have a photo op, regardless of the reason. They went to that restricted section and had a photo op. That's issue #2. Finally, when an Arlington staffer told them about that second area's photo restriction, and tried to block the campaign from entering it with their cameras and video equipment, the Trump staffers shoved her aside, which is an assault. Issue #3.

I've had criticisms of Lex before but I could've at least said that I respected him, not anymore, that was pathetic.

When Trump says he has a plan to deal with Russia and China but he can't say or else it won't work then that means he has a bluff that he won't talk about or else his bluff will get called and then he'll have nothing left. If he had an actual plan of action on how to deal with it then he could talk about it because that action couldn't possibly be undone by simply talking about it now. That's the most generous interpretation of his statement because more than likely he has no plan at all on how to deal with Russia and China and he's just saying that so he doesn't have to admit that he doesn't actually have a plan.
