I still wish we could just quietly put ;Yourself , Joe Rogan, Julian Assange, and Tim Pool and whomever you'd like in charge of this country, I know you guys actually care about this world, and it's people. Thank you for all you do Lex.
Thanks for all your work Lex. Yourself and Jordon Peterson have had an immensely positive impact on my life and have taught me to be a more productive human.
Ive thought about death regularly since the age of 10. I constantly mourn the passage of time. Thats one of the reasons why I respect Lex. He sits with the pain and meditates on it, where everyone else has just told me to not think about it.
"The flow of time is always cruel... its speed seems different for each person, but no one can change it... A thing that does not change with time is a memory of younger days...". ― Sheik (Ocarina of Time)
Mad impressed by the editing and pace of the video. Really helped capture enough of him to get a good overview and made me go check out more of his stuff! Can’t wait to see what next stuff you want to talk about
@@v_x6329 But that's just the natural course of life. As humans get smarter, which we are, we generally become more cynical. Research has shown happier people are on average dumber. The idea of cynicism = wisdom is found on alternative media type pundits, like Alex Jones, or flat earthers. That's why something so irrational, so unscientific can garner and maintain a following for so long. They appear wise, or enlightened by the simple reason that they oppose what the government is saying. They're not judged by their followers by the content of their rhetoric, but by the quality of them being distrustful towards the government, and big corporations, etc.
This what probably the most incredible breakdown of recent society I've seen on youtube yet. Done with real meaning & demonstrating real value, not getting lost in the nitty fucking gritty. This really was a tremendous watch, whoever edited / produced this honestly deserves a fat fucking bonus because this will form a lot of ideas in a lot of people's heads. Lex Fridman is the fucking man - it is his world & we are living in it; he understands respect like not many others do in the public figure realm (if u will) and this is real wisdom in and of itself - leads to wonderful things that will constantly take you by surprise. You can bet your bottom fucking dollar that Joe Rogan learned a thing or two from him in that podcast, and I am absolutely sure that you and I could too.
Dude I can’t wait to watch your channel and I hope you put out regular content. That norm video was legendary, so when I visited your channel after watching that video and realized it was your first I was absolutely stunned. Keep it up!
This is fantastically edited sir. I've never seen someone integrate a professional level of documentary-feel editing mixed with youtuber-style meme editing so damn well. I would love to see more of this.
This is such a rare and fantastic editing style that added so much to the content without overwhelming me. The bullets with points that weren't points, the spelling out of fumbled words and visual puns, the timers in the top right corner counting down to nothing, then changing to negative, then increasing all reinforced my attention on the thoughts and ideas Lex is communicating. Wow man, you've really got something here.
@@comscinerd2070 The editing is pretty much any film school student in the '90s. The irony of Styrofoam making a seemingly propaganda piece while the inference is that Lex can make people think... Don't get me wrong. I love the Fridman Podcast. But this video love letter is strange to me.
We are really fortunate to have Lex. I know he's helped me hang onto humanity and do better. I wish more people spent time listening to his thought provoking podcasts. Life is all about love, love is the answer, and I think Lex does a wonderful job showing that.
M, my sentiments EXACTLY! He speaks often of how finding beauty in the unexpected parts of life, its positive effects on humanity.. whn I heard him say that I literally dead stopped in my kitchen lol. I thought I was practically the only one on earth who was like that. But he’s authentic and a true humanitarian in how he works and conducts himself. I know that his work is playing a huge part in bringing back the soul/ spirit of the world. So nourishing to have discovered him bec his work is a true gift… especially during these times.
You took the things he himself presents as simple truths that can easily be perceived as cliches and made them so much easier to digest with your editing, I love it
I just got home from a funeral of a loved one a couple of minutes ago and I got a notification for your video. For weeks (but especially today), I felt lost, overwhelmed and most of all emotionally dull... But then I watched your video and was somehow introduced to parts of my old self again -- sort of like a nudge to remind me of my endless curiosity about our cosmos and how lucky I am to be a part of the universe that ponders about itself. What a happy coincidence for your video to be uploaded on the hour I needed a friendly reminder! Your editing is gratifying and I might just go back to designing whatever comes to mind on Illustrator with this boost of inspiration. On top of all that, your added taste of humor in your editing made me smile. Magnificent work. Thank you, friend! 😊
The way you had this come full circle, zooming in on earth then zooming out. The beginning monologue discussing the good and the bad of mankind and ending with the hopefulness of that poem. Powerful stuff man. Got me feeling a type of way haha
The organization, the way it’s all packaged and packed in…this the caliber of video I’d expect from a channel with millions of followers, not a few thousand. Nice job! Subbed from the Norm video, glad I stayed
There's a genius to how accessible you've made these 2 mini doccos. Even though I've been a huge fan of Lex's podcast since he rose to prominence and have also dug very deep trying to learn everything I could about Norm after his death I was still thoroughly entertained by both of your videos despite them not providing me personally with any new information about the individuals themselves. If I wanted to introduce a friend or a family member to the idea of Lex or Norm I would definitely be sending them your videos as the pitch. They resemble mainstream documentaries in tone which is not intended as an insult, I could comfortably send this to my dumbest friends with whom I would otherwise not bother to try involve in complex subjects because I am very blunt and they often get upset and expect me to be able to explain others' work to them in laymans terms when that's simply not something I have the aptitude for yet so even though I learned nothing new about Norm or Lex here I can definitely feel like your videos have taught me a lot about how to effectively present information to others in just under an hour. Obviously this comment is not the most concise but I'm only having these realizations and figuring out how the videos made me feel as I type this now so it just feels more genuine for me to post this as it is and who knows, maybe it will be fun for anyone who notices to see how/if my feedback changes moving forward because I intended to watch this space. You've got the talent, keep up the good work.
Dude honestly this is as close to perfection as any video I ever watched got with composition editing and content. Absolutely amazing at every aspect of doing what I believe you tried to make it do.
Out of words, so I’ll say how I felt. This video kept me watching like no other video has in a long time! This felt like you were taking us on a journey with Lex.
as an editor myself, this was incredible editing. It was so outside the box thinking when it comes to visuals to accompany these VOs. That's always so hard for me to come up with, with content like this. Very inspiring, thank you.
As someone who has followed lex since the earlier AI podcast days. This video does him justice. Eloquently explaining what makes him such an interesting person and great Podcaster. Muchos gracias!
Dude. This is awesome. Showcasing someone else’s values and ideas, while skill fully showcasing yours without making it apparent and woven into a story is a brilliant skills not even the greatest artists can replicate. Lex always inspired me but fuck it so do you!!! I found you from the norm video and I seemingly loved that chunk of coal as much as you do / did. After watching this one I’m awestruck. Good luck and excited for all the videos coming ahead
Dude, your videos are just so great. Like well made documentaries: subtle, controlled but feel very personal and let the original material shine. I really like both this one and the other about Norm.
Amazing. I am not even a fan of Fridman, but this video is made in such a beautiful way that I still enjoyed it much more than most content on this platform. I'm happy to have found this channel
First Norm, and now we have Lex. Your taste is God tier and I can already tell this will easily be one of my favorite channels on this platform. Don't quit.
at first I started to watch this with a pit of anger in my belly, right on this MiB prick is dangerous. However, as the presentation progressed I started to see the silent child warrior inside of me with nearly every sentence. Thanks for the presentation, it opened my eyes to the power of suggestion and made me realize that the true terror of life is to be a child lead by the hand of anger. Bravo!
This video has heart, you can get so lost in your own misery you forget the gifts you have right at yout feet. Love truly is a beautiful thing, we need to love more, feynman said it, norm and lex are clearly proponents. I'd give it all up, and love one more time. Your norm tribute was very touching, his videos were a friend to me when I had none, this too is very profound. You may think yourself but a humble messenger, pointing out the works and words of others, but your keen eye and deft editing have drawn together the ideas of these people which would take a real deep understanding to unearth. Your humour and your own personal touch have created something profound and worthy on its own merits, it stands alone as an achievement, I can't really put into words the experience I've had with this video; but it matches any book. Well done.
Goddammit! That poem at the end was intense! Idk wtf this channel is all about but you have a winning video here, bud/gal. Holy crap, you summed up Lex so beautifully. He is so adored and is too humble to even realize it, which makes him even more lovable and respected! You hit the mysterious Lex fridman nail on the head!
What is the poem at the end? is that by lexs grandma? or lex himself? or just a well known poem? I loved it would like to have a copy to write down/learn
Dude, such an amazing edit! Keep up the great work! I watch Lex Regularly , and I have to say, this is one of the craziest looks we've gotten into lex's mind , great compilation!
Amazing videos man, loving it. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see what legend you delve into the soul of next. Seems like you could go much deeper on both also, I'd watch hours more on either. Thanks man, I'm glad I was here at the start
Lex is my role model, something I never knew I needed until I started listening to his pod. For a robot, he has a great deal of wisdom stored in his database
Dude, you are really, really talented. Also, you either spend wayyyyy too much time watching random videos or you’re also a good programmer and you’ve written some nice scripts that help you curate all this content. I wish I could buy stock in your channel, because it’s only going up!
Appreciate it! Yeah so far first 10 days or so of each project is just watching and cataloging/organizing source material for the edit. It’s so boring but in both cases I was glad I took plenty of time
incredible. the joke per minute here is nuts. but I don't want to overanalyze it takes away from some of the enchantment your edit obviously has. good shit bro lex would like this if he saw it. hope you read these comments like him
Completely agree with @HULL GUITARS USA - I feel very fortunate to get in at the ground level for your channel. If you continue sharing your content, there’s no doubt in my mind you’ll be a great success. Amazing work, friend 🙂
Damn, Brian. Wow. Great work! I've long considered Norm and Lex to be modern mystics - popular, but probably misunderstood. I think you understand. And to choose them as the subjects to launch Styrofoam Bonfire says something about you. Well done. Very well done.
Seriously man your channel is one of the best things I found in years. It’s definitely up there with the other favorites of mine being “ordinary things“ “many kudos“ “ Jacob Geller“ “Bobby broccoli“ and a few others. You were in that top 1% for sure
is the on-looker effect from the mic or video you deal and succeed brother i've been waiting on my personal (diabetic) AI for over a decade bro true love I can't wait keep doing you and all of us that fav i'm grateful to be a perfected part
