Having watched Lex Luger growing up as a wrestling fan, I was stunned watching this. Not just by the physical difference, which is shocking to see, but in watching Lex's manner of speaking as well. The spiritual/mental change is as drastic as the physical, and so very evident. I wish him well. If he has had a rebirth in Christ, you can only say Amen to that.

Atheism isnt a religion. Religions believe in a supernatural of sorts and have rituals, celebrations to it. An Atheist simply is someone who doesnt believe a diety(s) exist. Its not the fact that i never give up, its realizing that certain things dont add up, and believing what makes the most sense and knowing in my heart that i simply cannot be someone i am not. This in turn is comforting. Good day.

While you may want to comment on his change of appearance, pay attention to his change of heart. He spoke with humility and owned up to all the wrong he had done. That takes alot of humility. I am pleased and dare I even say proud that he and Sting (Steve Borden) were scripted friends in WCW and later in life both turned to the Lord Jesus Christ. A wonderful testimony

+Blakkset The thing I noticed most was how respectful and sweet he was to that elderly man. It was obvious that he had little knowledge of the wrestling world, but Luger not once seemed to talk down to him for not knowing like I see more often in similar interviews. People seem to have their own ques they look for when judging character, for me one has always been how patient people are with, and how they treat, the elderly.

Lex Luger definitely seems to be changed and humble now. It's kind of sad and tragic that he gained this mindset after losing everything. If he had the look of then with the mindset of now he would have done so much more in his career. Still I'm extremely happy that he's found his way and I hope the younger generation look at him as a lesson of where bad choices can lead you. Self responsibility is possibly the major factor between being a wrestling success and a wrestling tragedy.

I feel like I'm in the minority of people who can actually admit when I have done the wrong thing so it is really refreshing to hear that from another. I bet his entire outlook on life changed for the better when he got things off of his chest and started living a more positive lifestyle. Even people we have written off, not to say I wrote Lex Luger off (or even thought deep enough into his life) have more good in them than we could have imagined. Lex had unreal genetics and imo, definitely the best body in the business. He really did look amazing. However, roiding can tend to be very complex area. I have some education in biology and chemistry, and general anatomy, and i have been lifting over 20 years and been around MANY people on roids. Believe it or not, the best time to be on them, testosterone, GH, etc, is when youre a lot older, typically 40+, and the reason is, because your endocrine, glands, and hormones secrete much less, as well as aging, metabolism slows, etc. When your 19, mid 20s, you dont need to be flooding your body with it, and if you dont stack it properly or take the right ester mixes and all that jazz, it will shut down your own system, since it will adapt to the 'overdose', essentially. But honestly, if you do it in a proper clinical manner, at the right time in life and know exactly the kind to take pertaining to what your goals are, they are far from deadly, even beneficial. You see, the problem with Luger, Steiner, Dynamite Kid, Davey Boy, and many others, is it wasnt illegal back then. These guys loaded up on everything, most of them not even knowing wtf they were doing or taking, and yes, with the constant slamming, crashing, and banging nt the canvas, chairs, tables, cement, etc, it has a huge toll on the heart, hence why so many die young. And yes, he did have a major injury, so...he obviously cant do what he used to do pertaining to his old routines, and hes much older now as well. Im sure people heard the Warrior just died as well..unreal. Now, you look at him though, he was Lex's age roughly and looked fantastic before he died. Eh....i mean, hey, Lex found the right path in life, people just need to stop flaming him and forgive and forget. I dont believe at all he was a murderer, just ridiculous and no reason why he would kill her or anyone. He just lived a bad life in the fast lane, made mistakes, etc. None of us are perfect.

Outstanding interview: man....that was love just how pat continued to have a man crush almost on Luther and kept reminding him he was the prettiest wrestler in all of wrestling......that was testament to the Lord lifting you up with uncommon favor when you humble yourself under His hand and you can tell Luther is waking in the grace of God; may God bless his heart N recovery.

People need to give Lex a break, sure he may have taken performance enhancing drugs that had an adverse effect on his body. But I actually respect him more now than when he was wrestling with that fantastic body in the 1980's and 1990's. He's found God and he's for real now.

I hate the way people talk about wrestlers who done steroids back in the day. Its like people think they deserve every tragedy in their lives because they took steroids at some stage in their careers.
@jarrethcutestory
@jarrethcutestory 10 лет назад
Yeah I agree. To have a decent career as a wrestler you were basically forced to take them to get over your injuries because if you didn't you'd be out of work.

Long comment but... as a teen, I started watching every MWA show just to spend time with my dad and what was initially torture time to me watching it was quickly replaced by shared interest. I became a huge fan. Dad and I went to see WCW live several times. Lex Lugar put a stop to all that when I was seated 2nd row seat next to my dad at the Roanoke (Va) Civic Center in 1988 (possibly 89?). Lugar was in the ring, slowly circling around & appearing to eat up the applause. He'd just entered the ring a moment before. Yes, being 17, I was standing at my seat, applauding & cheering right along, although I wasn't loudly chanting "take it off" as some were as be teased abt removing his shirt - I was a daddy's girl and out with my dad but even if alone, I wouldn't have acted like trash at Lugar's suggestion! But when be circled around facing our direction, Lugar stopped and looked me in the eyes, then *pointed* directly at me and said aloud in front of everyone else there, "YOU! Why don't you take YOUR shirt off?!" with a sly grin on his face and kept staring at me for what seemed an eternity but was likely seconds. I was humuliated. I immediately stopped cheering & sat back down. My first thought was wondering if my dad had heard him. I then recall being too embarrassed to look up and wondered if fellow fans were staring at me in disgust. My third memory is recognizing all happiness and excitement were gone from my face. I envisioned fellow fans seeing my blank-looking face as I stared at the floor, although they likely paid no attention to my reaction, nor even stared at me as I feared that day. I don't remember the rest of the night & I never went to another live event again, only occasionally watching WCW on TV when dad asked if I wanted to watch. Every few years the Lex Lugar thing pops in my head and I still wonder if my dad heard him that night - we've never mentioned it. There's no way he didn't see and hear Lugar, though. Last night the memory popped in my head and I'm still disgusted he ruined my favorite times I would've spent w my dad, all bc Lex Lugar was a h0rny, throw-it-around-in-every-town kinda man, who just had to publicly ask a 17yo standing next to her dad to take her shirt off. He likely assumed I would just do it for him but unlike him, I had morals. There's no commandment abt not cussing so F you Lex Lugar! I still work on forgiving you even though you couldn't care less, and likely remember even less than you care. Presbyterians are taught to forgive and hate no one. But cussing? No position. It's hard reconciling the teen-chasing, grown man with the person Lugar says he now is. Yeah I still might be just a touch angry abt it and is my problem, not Lugar's. Maybe it'd be helpful to listen to this interview. (Any other former die-hard Four Hourseman fans?). Side note: years ago I was seated next to Andre the Giant on a plane for hours and he was a very nice, down to earth man. I immediately recognized him! RIP.

Can we get over the fact wrestling is staged? I swear everytime i get into a conversation with someone about why i like wrestling we dont get much past wrestling is scripted. Yes... Yes i know... Thank you... Ive only been watching wrestling for close to 28 years now. I mean people are like stuck like a broken record.

The greatest parts of wrestling are possible precisely because it's staged. Breaking the fourth wall, the uncertainty of what is a work and what is a shoot, the live aspect introducing the wild card variable, the way the wrestlers tell a "story of the fight" that mirrors the story of their feud through the progression of the match......at its best there is a magical aspect of wrestling that is unique to any other form of entertainment, and it's evoked emotional reactions in me I haven't experienced any other way!
