A video based on Lex Luthor and how Clark, Lana and Lionel let him become who he is supposed to be. Hope you'll like it Song : 30 seconds to mars - The Kill
it's a shame that michael left the series when his character was at his best, he did it to clear in his career, but let's face it, he didn't do anything relevant after smallville to guardians of the galaxy, the best he could have done , is to stay until the end of smallville, where if I participate in the final, but it would have been better to participate in the seasons, 8,9,10,11, the series lacked too much lex luthor.
Batzzzy3713 What the hell where you watching? Lex always went to bat for Clark and got shit on by Clark and his family. Lex Luthor tried to be good but people like Clark and his family as well as his dad made it impossible. Lex was the real victim of this story.
stevienightheat1 I agree, they pushed him down this path. What sucks is that Lex's role ended in season 7, I thought he had a bigger part to play in the final seasons.
So Lex deciding that money, power and control were more important than the lives of innocent people was Clark's, Jonathan's and Lionel's faults was it? No it was Lex's fault. When Lex was a good guy I agree that Jonathan was an asshole for hating Lex and not wanting him to be Clark's friend just because he was Lionel's son but that didn't make Lex evil. Nor did Lionel's abuse or Clark's lies and secrets which in the early seasons when Lex was Clark's friend Clark only kept from him to keep Lex safe from the dangers of knowing about Clark's secret and powers and the evil he had to fight like meteor freaks, evil Kryptonians like Zod, an evil Kryptonian computer like Brainiac and so on. It was Lex's own lust for power that made him evil not any of that. Lex could have also given up his obsession with trying to find out how Clark saved him from drowning but he didn't so Lex is just as responsible for the end of his and Clark's friendship as Clark is. Lex is my favourite Smallville character but he's no victim. He's a villain.
Xehanort10 of course it was the abuse of his father and the lies from Clark that pushed him over the edge. The whole point of his story arc was that. The damn Creator of the show even said that. Clark was the Yang to lex's Ying in that series. They even did an episode showing how Clark would be if his father was Lionel and lex's was Johnathan.
His dad abusing him thinking it would make him strong enough to inherit Luthorcorp after Lionel's death and Clark lying to him about his powers and being an alien didn't make Lex an evil money and power hungry obsessed control freak monster. Yes he had a hard life but he could still have been and chosen to be a good man. Instead he decided that money and power were the only way he could be happy and also chose to use those things to try to control everything and everyone else in his life. So in the end it was Lex's choice. When it comes down to it he was an evil guy who bad things happened to not a guy who became evil because bad things happened to him. Plenty of people both in real life and fiction have had bad or even abusive childhoods and still became good people and didn't grow up to become insane or evil serial killers. Lex chose to be the evil man that he became. In the end it all comes down to who people choose to be. Nothing and no one makes them who they become and they're not destined to turn out a certain way.
"I've always been fighting my destiny, trying to avoid becoming my father. But we all have certain genes that, no matter how much we want to change, dominate us." LEX LUTHOR
It always makes me sad.. thinking about lex, and it always pisses me off that clark couldnt just tell him who he was instead of helping drive him insane by lying to him all the time
Nice use of lyrics and perfect song.! Very Powerful vid..!! Brillant editing my friend.!Love the scene of Lionel falling and the reflection in lex's eyes ..Awesome.! Maybe lex will come back for season ten.!??? Cheers ...DK
i agree, but what did it matter who clark was? he's an alien with more morale and heart than lex luthor has in his little pinkie. lex would have exploited clark one way or another if he knew the truth. as for lex's fragile state of mind, we can thank lionel for that one. lionel redeemed himself throughout the seasons, but forging an alliance with clark instead of his true son might have tipped lex closer to the edge.
thats true I guess never thought of it that way. I guess thats what the finale was getting at, at the end of the day lex never had enough good to conquer the bad and would always end up a villian
