Its because he really only cares about the lyrics and not really the musical aspect of it as much. It's why he got visibly annoyed when he asked her if she was paying attention to the lyrics and she said no. lol They are legit complete opposites when it comes to how they consume music and what they enjoy about it. She is more into the feeling, what instruments are being used and how, and he is into the lyrics and needing to understand what the song is about.

Guns N Roses: Appetite For Destruction is THE quintessential 80s hard rock album. Their debut album and it went straight to number 1. It's the 11th best selling album of all time! I have an unbelievable amount of nostalgia for this as it was the first album I ever owned. Had it on Cassette and played it until it finally broke. I remember those years from 1987-1994 when every time GNR put out a new album or live concert video it was an event. Hell, I remember my first girlfriend had a poster of Axl Rose (the singer) on her bedroom wall. Guns N Roses for life!

@@RTTGunsGear I always felt like the grunge era is what sent both Metallica and GnR into totally different directions. Metallica became more radio friendly with the the Black Album and then completely changed their sound with Load. They def had to adapt. I don’t remember GnR doing much after that at all. I know Myles Kennedy kinda took over frontman in the 2000’s but they just toured and Myles had his focus with Alter Bridge. I can’t agree with you about Nirvana though. I wouldn't put November rain as an "early" introduction. They should stick to appetite for destruction for atleast 3 or 4 songs I think. November rain was like 5 years after appetite for destruction. But they most certainly must check out November Rain in the future. I would say Sweet Child O Mine, Paradise city and Mr. Brownstone first. Then most certainly the Use your illusion album after that. The Spaghetti Incident they should jus completely skip over. That album was an embarassment, lol.

This was the song that introduced GnR back when I was in middle school. This group really defined those years for me, and even to this day I'm still getting new meanings out of their songs. Axl the lead singer actually does have a 6 octave range in his voice which is amazing so the high parts aren't actually part of a character or anything. For my money, Slash on lead guitar is easily one of the top 5 greatest guitarists ever, his solos are amazing and especially when you get into their longer songs they actually enhance the lyrics. Here are some of my ideas for you all to try out. From their first album Appetite for Destruction - Paradise City, Sweet Child O' Mine, My Michelle, and Mr. Brownstone From the Use your Illusion double album - They have a trilogy which is Don't Cry, November Rain, and Estranged. Others on those albums that are must listens are Coma, Civil War, Breakdown, Locomotive, The Garden, Don't Damn Me, Bad Apples, and You Could Be Mine.

The concrete jungle. His interpretation of the city streets. Slash is one of the most famous guitarists in the world. His iconic bolo and hair made up his iconic style. Guns and Roses was on of the most popular rock bands of the 80's. They were crazy partiers and were known for destruction. They still tour today to a packed house.

Just watched this. I loved guns n roses I'm from the UK but was instantly hit by Axl's artistic take of inner city LA compared to being a jungle. The dog eat dog world of desperation and criminality was something he found himself trying to survive. Even his voice and his screams show that he's become the animal. In his real life he came from the country to LA and lived homeless for 2 years fighting everyone and his own childhood demons. Axl was honesty and true raw emotion, I loved that in his vocal style..

"Welcome To The Jungle" is an all-time classic, to be sure, and GnR's debut album, Appetite For Destruction, is the best-selling debut rock album ever. And the album is almost like a greatest hits album, as most of the songs on the album are classics today ("Mr. Brownstone" being my favorite).

I was born in the very late 70’s, very late! And as soon as I heard the first notes, in my early, of the first song, of theirs debut album just knew this was no ordinary band, with an ordinary run of the mill album! It gets put around far too often but it’s was, is a total game game changer! Appreciate For Destruction is truly legendary all the way from Welcome to the Jungle to Rocket Queen!

It was about GNR singer W. Axl Rose coming to Los Angeles from Indianain the early 1980's... Axl Rose was born William Bailey in Indiana, where he was raised under strict Christian ideals and marred w/ physical & sexual abuse as a minor... as a teen, Rose was always getting in trouble or arrested. In the early 80's, his friend Jeff Isbell left Indiana for L.A. w/ a guitar to become a rock star... Axl eventually decided months later to join him and took a Greyhound bus there. When he arrived tho, he had no idea where Isbell was and was on the street for a month before he finally found him. Isbell took the name Izzy Stradlin and they joined their first band Hollywood Rose. By the time Rose & Stradlin joined the band that became Guns N' Roses in 1985, they were still penniless and struggling... living in drug dens and strippers' flats in Hollywood... 'Welcome to the jungle' perfectly described Axl's first arrival into that world aftet leaving home.

Others may have commented on this already, but I like the song because it gives you a very specific idea of what a large city does to you, especially if you're there looking for fame. I have to say, I love the lyrics because they are powerful, sleazy, sexy, and everything you'd find along your way tot he top, only to be chewed up and spit out by the city itself. It's pretty hardcore, for me anyway. Great lyrics. I hope you take time to analyze them. Love your videos! Rock on! \m/

Hey guys! This band came out at the tail end of the glam rock/hair metal era when bands were completely over the top. These guys are the real deal. Their clothing and the way they act is how they really were. A big contrast to, the neon spandex, ridiculous leather stuff that bands were wearing throughout the 80s. Also, their musicianship was exceptional. Also, not sure if it matters but Slash, the lead guitarist is a brothuh! Finally, the song is about moving to Los Angeles. It’s a little bit autobiographical about the singers move from Indiana to Los Angeles and how Los Angeles is a jungle that can eat you up and spit you out. Love you guys!
