Man it shakes right off idle. Was flying before you even thought it would. That tube was spraying out something.

The material coming out of hose below and behind firewall is oil, someone overfilled the oil tank and did not notice until it was all over the flying machine.

This is so cool Les. I have built one and thinking about a second and this is your third. Looking forward to hearing what your thoughts are on the improvements. Congratulations :)

Yay! Great job, as always! Is that orange shirt for landing out, or to match the airplane? :-)

Looks great! The Verner 3 cyl radial is a really interesting engine. I'm really wanting to get into ultralight flying. I'm in central valley Ca, area. Any recommendations for training ?

I have a frame in the Jig and I think my engine will be the Hearth F23..... not sure I like the fuel forward C.G.idea ... thinking about a tank nestled above and between the wings center C.G. with a cowling to blend it in, kinda like the old aircraft from the 20's and I'll do some breakaway connectors just in case of a sudden stop........... have you given any thought to a B.R.Chute system......... the young guy in Oregon last month might have made it if he had one....... think I'll weld in a pocket for one. LOVE the Color Orange .... Be careful , Fly Safer. And a Helmet could the bugs out of your ears..... or gravel (lol).

So what’s the verdict on the lighter version of the eagle? Does it get off the ground faster? Does it feel as stable.

Hi Les, I'm surprised no one else has commented on this yet but it looks like you are leaking fuel. There is what looks like a clear vinyl tube against the fire wall in the lower left hand corner (when seated in the cockpit. At various points in the video there is clearly fluid (I assume fuel) either dripping or pouring out of the tube. Re-watch your video. When you start the motor the asphalt under the plane is mostly clean but by the time you start taxiing it is quite wet under the engine and pilot's seat. Then, as you are taxiing fuel comes out at a pretty regular clip, you can see it hitting the ground and splattering just behind the pilot's seat. At first I thought the prop wash was kicking up light sand or dust but now I'm convinced it is fuel. See at 2:40. When you come to a complete stop the asphalt is clear but then a big spot develops, the size of a dinner plate. When you throttle up for takeoff fuel comes pouring out the tube for the entire full throttle period. I don't mean to be negative but this is a safety issue. I love what you have been doing and I'm looking forward to hearing more about what things you did to make a lighter XL. I love that 3V.

I think that might be oil, he said there was too much oil in the tank...

Very nice! I have got to get training and get into part 103. Did I see a Beech 18 in the background while taxing?

Nice .. but thumbs down for not talking to people .. there are many questions in the comments which you didn't even bother to answer .. that's no bueno .. also a few take-offs and landings can't be considered "flight" .. that's the grasshopper's leap 👎✌
