In this video I take the 200,00 mile Lexus LS400 on a road trip to see what it's like to drive day to day.
Can you use a modern classic LS400 to do these sorts of journeys without worrying something might go wrong? Also what sort of genuine mpg can you expect to achieve? Let's find out...

Easily the Best car I ever owned.....had many Luxury cars since....NOTHING comes close to the reliability....and sheer driving pleasure of an LS400. Quietest....smoothest....best built.....most reliable......most enjoyable car ......they simply will never be anything like it again....the sound system is truly incredible too....I bought the 460 and it was a terrible drive compared to the 400.....had 400 7 years.....460 six months...enough said.

Funny you should say you prefer the 400 to the later models because that seems to be echoed by other people I have spoken to who owned 430s in particular before coming back to 400s. They are such good cars for sure!!

How do these handle the higher speeds are they stable like a Mercedes.

@@blakealtonen9858 amazingly well! High speed composure and stability is absolutely rock solid - even at this age and mileage. It’s a really, really well engineered piece of kit.

i have a 95. Same interior color. i drive it often. and have had for 6 years. i notice your cup holders in the rear center arm rest are different. mine poke out when a button is pushed in the front. has no tray and does not open up as this car you are driving

There seems to be lots of little differences between years, so whilst the mechanical recipe stayed very much the same small tweaks slipped in year by year. Great cars all of them though!

Nice car! How many cars do you have ? Do you have time to service all of them?

If you ask my other half the answer is too many. I personally think there’s always space for more ;) Servicing is a fun task as long as you can stagger them throughout the year. They tend to get over-serviced if anything. Throwing clean golden oil away can be a touch heartbreaking but preventative maintenance is a good thing in the longer term.

Hi there On a motorway run I get around 32mpg. I’ve never calculated it for around town stuff. I’d guess early 20s…

I don’t think that could be taken for granted in a car this old. Plenty of cars nearly 30 years old can be unpleasant as dailies. Hopefully the video gets across ‘what it is like’ as a daily more so than ‘whether it’s possible to use’. Cheers
