First I got same feeling when I pulled the lever (too easy, not like before), and the hood poped up very slightly but still couldn’t reach the catch lever at front, and it’s 2006 Rx 350
Hi BJ, Model 2006 VS 2007 are more or less the same. I think it’s the same issue as mine, if you can reinstall the cable in the right place should solve the problem, good luck.
@@handychan3198 thank you so much for your quick response. It’s 2016, not 2006(sorry). Just tried to fix it but no luck and there is no plastic tube inside the lever
@@handychan3198 Another guy suggested to slap the hood while the interior lever in fully pull up position, the hood just needs a jolt, is that making sense, thanks 🙏
@ BJ. There are 3 reason cause hood stuck, most of the car are working in similar mechanism. 1. Broken cable 2. Hood lock failure 3. The cable got loosened inside the car ( like my case) Since your car is pretty new, the hood popped up slightly but you feel it’s too easy. So your car won’t have broken cable. I still think you just got loosened cable, that you can still pop up the hood a little at some point.
i have the same issue. i accidentally removed that metal piece/pin from that plastic latch. Any help on how to put the back together? it doesnt fit back
Sorry, I don’t have that issue. Just check my car, I believe that metal piece (with the wire at the other end) can be install from the driver side (which has a open end) Try use a Long Needle Nose Pliers pull the metal piece toward to the passenger side within the black plastic fitting.
I don’t even know how y’all place it back 😢 I hav wa tiny hands and still can put it back where it belongs 😭 and I don’t have a windshield fluid in my car 🤦🏻♀️

@@Mynameisapparentlynotavailable We're you ever able to get it fixed? We have the same problem with our RX300. For the washer fluid I had a local shop replace the pump motor which cost us $140 with labor. That was 10 years ago and it still works great 👍🏾
