@@samplautz5586 yeah well this video is titled lexus seats. So not many here are interested in pickups. You can brag about how great yours work but i doubt ANYbody here will trade in their lexus for a ford pickup because of it. Thus, nobody cares. There is a difference between cooled seats and ventilated ones. Automakers are moving away from cooling systems because of mold caused by condensation in the cooling apparatus, usually a peltier plate which also uses a lot of power.

I own an 08 is250 and was just happy to even have this as an option in the first place. I think it's cool ford is doing that too. I had no idea it was an option for the f150. Thanks for sharing 😁✌️

So, it's not actually cooling the seat, it just blows some air to cool the seat down ever so slightly, if the car's hot inside, the seat won't do much of work.

Ya it actually makes the seat feel hotter if you just stepped in and it's 110° on your thermostat 😅😅 Best you wait till the car is cooled then you flick it on

What I do is set ac for both top and legs. Drive for 5 minutes and then turn the seats on. Then your butt will feel the difference :P Turning them on in hot car does nothing as the fan blows ambient air

@@Chr15Payne Wrong.. Ventilated ambient air would still feel cooler than sitting on hot leather. Especially considering the seat fans pull from low in the cabin.. Ever use a fan on a hot day? Even though it's just blowing hot air around, it still produces a cooling effect. Similar principle.

Ther is a thermal chip inside that the fan blows over to cool or heat depending on what way the voltage is going. The reason some don't work as well as others is some do a poor job of removing the exhaust side.

I have same issues on my GX cool ventilation front seat. When weather gets hot, I turned on ventilation but didn’t feel anything better, feel like no cool air blowing thru the seat. I like that feature option but actually no good on the hot days. Dealer said that’s how it is. Any one has same problems and ideas. What good to have ventilated seat that not working. BTW heated seat working ok.

the thing lexus piss me off the most is that my dad's lexus es350 (bought in china 2007) had seat ventilation, yet in canada, all NX models are not installed with seat ventilation only seat heating. interesting eh?

That is interesting! In America the FSport Model has only heated seats. We do have ventilated seats in the non-FSport model though. Thank you for contributing to the conversation! Brock

the Candian model NX lacks not only the ventilation, but also panaramic camera and sunroof, as well as some other features. they lack these on all NXs F sport or not. I bought an F sport series 2 which was the second most expensive package yet I felt it wasnt much of a good deal in compariosn to the audi Q5 which was around similar price

In Canada, F Sport Series 3 comes with the 360 degree view Camera, I dont believe panoramic sunroof is available on NX series at this time.

+Aaron Jacobs Unfortunately I don't think so. The newer models have dramatically improved but the first several years of ventilated seats were not as good.

I have an LS460 and the cooling seats do not work well at all on hot days. The heated seats work Excellent in the winter. Wish I could make the cooling seats work better.

Aaron Jacobs easy free way is to switch the ac to the foot setting. There’s a vent right under the front seats. Use the rear floor mats to trap the cold air under the seats. Then turn on your seat fan and in a few minutes the air will be pretty dang cold.

Lexus 2IS/3IS/RC AC Duct, Convert Ventilated Seats to Air Conditioned - on Etsy It installs under your seat and extends the vent to direct cold air directly into the fan to blow more air so that less is wasted.

Cool video. My 2007 RX350 driver seat heating system makes burning smell when it's turned on. Any idea what happens? Can the heating coils be replaced?

For the ventilated setting, does the fan just blow the cabin temperature air? If not, how is it blowing cold air?

It just feels like cold air because it is moving. Moving air which is colder than your body temperature feels cold because of the convection that is going on between you warm skin and the colder air moving past it. For the same reason, the felt temp is colder in the winter than the actual temp if the day is very windy.

Actually it sucks the air from bottom of the seat. N hence temperature of air at bottom is less than above. That's why we feel cool

Is there a way an average guy can replace these cooling fans in a 2011 GS 350? I don't think either one of these fans work at all in my seat. I don't think it is the switch, because the heating element works fine.

I have the same car but my heat is very weak. Works but barely gets hot. Guess it heats thru all those layers. I've taken seats apart on other cars, there are usually hog rings that you have to spread to remove the top cover that hold the top into the seams. The airbag may be an issue too.

I own a Kia Optima and have Heat/cool seats in front and the rear seats are heated ones.Is it possible to convert heated seats to cooling seats? What will be the procedure?( I am from Dubai, UAE).

Amar Toraskar you can get aftermarket kits to install this system on any seat. There's videos on here showing step by step how to do. Just look

I think Lexus "cooling" seat is useless. You won't feel anything when it's hot outside. My new palisade is 10X better than Lexus when talking about ventilation.

I understand this seat is from a Lexus. Which year and model? I have '13RX and the ventilated seats are not that great. I rented a Ford SUV recently that had ventilated seats that work WAY better than my RX. I have an idea of how to fix my RX seats, but I would like to see video or photos of a disassembled seat that matches mine.

Where does the fan motor for the back part of the seat get it air from? Just got a lexus is350c and the ventilated seats have no airflow so I want to take the seat out and clean the fan motors or something to restore lost airflow.

+RocKsTaR Great question! No filter in the seat. It just sends the ambient air in the cabin through the perforated leather.

I have the same question. Because my old IS 250 made the seats really cool. I wondered how that worked. I was guessing because I had the A/C on and it'd pick up the cool air and blow it into the seats.

It takes the ambient air from the inside of the car. But it might be possible that the seat vent air intake picks up air near a duct that blows out cold a/c air and that way the seat vent air is slightley colder than the average ambient air inside the car.
