Naalala ko dati noong nag-aaral pa ako dito sa probinsya namin, Parang meron mga falk dance o cultural contest ang Deped dati tuwing palaro sa paaralan😊 tapos pag nanalo ay pasok sa district meet at pag nanalo sa district meet ay don na next sa Unit meet 😊
the dance is colourful and enchanting. The fans imitate moving bird feather or butterfly’s wings , the bamboos sound like thunder when they hammer them on the floor preceding the sound of chimes from the umbrella imitate blowing wind during typhoon season, the formation of circle fan gives the appearance of blooming flower -- the best singkil.
The performers of the heritage Dances troupes of the different dancers of the 24 contestants using their colourful attires with their different musical instruments in their own country. Winner in this presentation is Philippines represented by Leyte.
Fantastic! That circling wheel tho, is done eveywhere, from Russia to Korea. A billowng Vinta Sail formation or fluttering kaleidoscope of Mariposas would have been more Pinoy. 😍
Excellent costumes, choreography and overall performance! The younger generation of Filipinos should be proud of such achievements- they should preserve, promote and encourage the cultural heritage of the country!

A good video coverage of capturing the criss-cross dance hurdle of singkil princess is ahowing or seeing it at the top view. But what a marvelous and awesome performance indeed!
Wow amazing... Very skillful. Rotating of fans while feet does with the bamboo pools in graceful movements, if not skill with it you ended up breaking your ankles with those bamboos. This is great.

Suki din ako ng folk dance since elemtary to highschool..kung saang lugar na kami para sa contest. ...sa leyte ..siguro..kung naabutan ko sila ...it might ime one them...hahahaha how i wish...
Kudos to the Kalipayan Dance Co for garnering 3rd place in what seemed to be a very competitive group of folk dancers! At this point though, I'd like to play devil's advocate: What if the prince was part of this dance? I know there is a male dancer who assumes the role of the prince but for some reason the dance company did not have him. I understand this is a retelling of a popular folk dance in the Philippines; however, if there was a prince role, would the audience appreciate it more? I also believe the judges know this dance calls for a male dancer. I somehow wonder what the company's placement would have been if they had a male dancer assumed the role of the prince.
if u read comment section in all singkil dance around youtube. u will notice the maranao dislikes having a prince in it. the original dance has no prince.
