I will write in English so I can be like Switzerland. I understood most all of the non-dialect here. The reason I watched was because I was most regions north of Rome/Lazio and also spent some time in the North Eastern Regions of Italy and liked them very much. I see what is being done here and I commend the people who uphold the language. There was a point where it was mentioned verona-cimbri, another city-cimbri, etc where it felt like the older man was almost discounting them - maybe I took it the wrong way. Language is fluid and over time, it evolves. The important thing is that a cimbro/a from one city to the next, speaks it and they are preserving it. If someone wants to see a REAL HOT MESS of dialects/langues in a small area, go to the north west of Italy. There are some old people that flip from one dialect/language to another where they overlap. I speak the dialect ok, but when I was younger much better - that being said, it is the dialect from a very small area that was spoken well over 110 years ago. The young in the north west of Italy might understand or understand very well (if from the country side), but they will always choose and/or respond in good italian. You are fortunate that you have a group of people who still preserve the old and want to keep it. Open your eyes to places such as Argentina, USA, Brazil, Uruguay, and Canada. You might be surprised what you find, people that have family from your area and well, time stopped for us when the first person immigrated to that country. You might here sounds, words, phrases, etc spoken as if time stopped because our clocks froze along with that time frame, even if we were future generations. Viet'i ei moto-motobegn di joiaei cme 'n tezo - el gent ch'a vurissan la lenga a mantenir. I wish your efforts the best and be happy with what you have. Mil grassie per tuit:)
