@@PaganReacts My guess is the film is set in the world of Logan before the events of the film and Logan's death - in fact both Reynolds and Jackman both confirmed that Deadpool 3 would not interfere with those events (hence the multiverse and the portal).

@@jamesrawlins735 No actually the movie has nothing to do with the Logan movie. Reynolds stated it would be Deadpool going to different Marvel Universe searching for the "correct" Wolverine he needs

I would love to see Patrick Stewart make a guest appearance or James McAvoy as the young Prof X, killing her once and for all

Also one of the buildings is called Copperheads, possible hint towards luke cages brother in the comics

A theory I like is that this is a Wolverine from an alternative timeline in which he's not able emotionally to kill Jean while she's the phoenix in Last Stand. He was the only one able to get close enough to kill her (which he does in that movie), and if he didn't kill her, she would've killed all the X-Men and likely destroyed the world. These events were removed from the current true Fox X-Men timeline due to the changes made during Days of Future Past - in which following The Last Stand, Magneto's powers returned, and he eventually joined forces with Charles and the X-Men before all being killed by the Sentinel's (hence why Logan had to go back in time and change events). So Logan (referring to the Fox timeline Wolverine) who went through all the movies (and is the only character from those movies to know the events of the first 3 movies), went on to die in Logan after Charles killed the X-Men following a seizure. That's not changing, he remains dead - although I believe we'll see his body in this film, along with Daphne Kean reprising her role as his daughter - the "I'm not a hero, kid" I believe is directed towards Laura as it appears to be in the same woods that Logan died in, and he wouldn't call Wade "kid", that was his nickname for Laura. This Wolverine could very well be from a universe in which he lived through the first 3 X-Men films so we as viewers will know him to an extent. It also makes sense for it to be a Wolverine from that trilogy since we are also getting Toad, Sabertooth and Pyro played by the same actors from that same trilogy.

I'd bet my last dollar that the story they're going for is a combination of E is for Extinction + Old Man Logan from the comics. In the comic version of Old Man Logan, he was tricked into killing all of the other X-Men by Mysterio - and I'm betting instead of Mysterio it will be Cassandra Nova tricking him in this world. Cassandra Nova killed off 16 million mutants in Genosha, so I'm willing to bet they're going to combine the stories.

@zebrion5793 @zebrion5793 yeah, totally agree mate! I'd be all for these two story lines merging. A big clue I feel supports the Cassandra Nova taking Mysterio's place in the Old Man Logan arc is in this very trailer. The way Wolverine looks at her as he tries to attack her - there's a lot of anger and pain in Hugh's performance there, there's BIG history between those characters, he wants revenge. His face before attacking is like coming face-to-face with the puppet master for the first time since the massacre - you can see proper seething hatred before he tries to attack her. That to me says she's going to have been the Mysterio puppet master to this Wolverine. I still don't think this particular Wolverine will be brand new though, I feel he'll have loved through some of the original fox movies before branching off separately from the Logan who finished that franchise. The inclusion of Sabertooth, Lady Deathstrike, Toad and Pyro from the original trilogy (all played by the original actors) suggests he's going to have history with these characters. There's also Azazel from First Class (same actor) although he never crossed paths with Logan since he wasn't involved in that film. They could of course be alternative versions from another universe of course, although it would surprise me if none of the X-Men or Hellfire Club/Brotherhood of Mutant characters featured in this film are versions that we know from earlier in the Fox film series - especially since they are using the same actors.

The Fox-verse was an alternate timeline that got "pruned" which is why it ended up at the End of Time from the Loki series. It makes sense.

If they do her the same justice as from the comics, then yes she is a force. She killed 16 million mutants and overpowered Prof X while he was inside Cerebro.
