For those buying, panel variance is very real with this model (and pretty much any monitor or TV). First unit from amazon came with bright pixel and brightness left a lot to be desired. Then bought another from LG and the brightness/HDR performance is way better.
This product has BOE's panel. In Korea, there are problems with horizontal and vertical lines appearing on the screen and panel failure during use. If your local LG service quality is not good, think carefully before purchasing. LG claims that the products produced after April 2024 have improved the panel. However, only time will tell if there will be an issue with the panel. If there were no such problems, I think this product could become the standard for 32-inch 4k 144hz monitors.
That’s why I’m so hesitant to get this monitor. I’ve heard this monitor specifically has pretty bad quality control issues and I’m worried about getting a faulty monitor. Should I go for it anyway?
@@Mathias-t Currently, this product is discontinued on LG in Korea. The next model, 32GS94U will be released soon , but there is a rumor that this product is also a boe panel. As I said, I recommend it if LG service is good and you can buy 32gr93u really cheaply. If not, I don't recommend it
Just got one, very happy. You don't need a powerful card to run 4k, my old 8600k and 3060ti is working fine. LFD2 4k 144hz, spiderman mix high and DLSS quality 75 fps, DLSS balanced 90 fps. VRR works great to smooth out. Older games can 144hz and if need go high instead of very high. Modern games you can always mix medium/high with DLSS. DLSS loves 4k as it has higher data per setting for the AI to work with. UPDATE damn 4 days and I have 5 horizontal lines of dead pixels at the base, its going back.
I've had two 4k LG monitors, both have been returned with dead pixels and backlight bleed. LG might have a good track record, but always thoroughly check monitors before the return period is up no matter the brand.
I currently have a QD Oled 1440p 360Hz from Aorus. I went through 2 monitors (1 MSI 1 Aorus) with dead pixels to get a good one, so I'm not hating on LG to be clear
@@P5YCHO1192 that price is because of Samsung’s Employee Discount program. I ended up getting the LG, so far it’s quite good. My unit came with a bright pixel so gonna return it for another unit. My biggest issue with it is the HDR performance. Definitely not bright enough for HDR gaming, highlights don’t stand out at all and colors are just muted overall. Looks better in SDR, at least for PS5.
There is an LG 4K mini-led (27gr95um). It has been abandoned after only one firmware update and has broken HDR (in Gamer 1 & 2) profiles. The entire screen dims anytime there is contrast during gameplay and stays dim. If you drop to the first "specialized" profiles right under Gamer 1 & 2 (FPS) during gameplay, the brightness increases dramatically (but these other HDR profiles are not really good for most games and the brightness still doesn't reach the advertised 1000 nits). By my estimation, it's like going from 80 to 100 instantly in brightness increase. I'm guessing it is some sort of inverse ABL they slapped on to help with blooming, but it absolutely kills the HDR experience. To make matters worse, LG LIES on the product page Q&A in their resolution for dimming. They say to "turn off DFC". The problem with that is: THERE IS NO DFC setting on the 27gr95um! They have no accountability. I don't see how LG could screw up and then abandon such an expensive mini-led monitor. The SDR picture with local dimming on looks great, but I didn't buy the 27gr95um for SDR. Used to love LG, but as far as monitors go, I will never buy another LG again.
I need to add that I have made adjustment after adjustment in my Nvidia graphics card settings in order to try and minimize the HDR full-screen dimming (boosted the brightness, contrast, gama, and color as well as using the Windows HDR calibration app). I've managed to get it to where I'm satisfied with the HDR picture for the most part, but it really shouldn't be so hard given the monitor's specs. My previous monitor was the Innocn 27m2v and it didn't take me long to find settings I was 100% satisfied (until it broke that is). I find the LG to be better in every way EXCEPT for where, to me, it really matters: having a bright, impactful HDR picture with good contrast. It's primarily the highlights that I still have issue with. The inverse ABL seems to put a ceiling on the highlights and they don't consistently pop like real HDR should. Oh, and the fact that LG straight up lied to me about there being a DFC setting on the 27gr95um. Doesn't exist.
Very good review, would definitely check out this monitor for 400$! With all these new oleds coming out I don't know if ips can compete but this monitor looks very solid for what it offers.

(in Hungary HUF prices converted to USD) - Gigabyte M32U currently at about 712 USD, - Samsung Odyssey G7 S32BG700EU at about 617 USD, - LG UltraGear 32GR93U-B at about 645 USD.
Don’t get the monitor, had a bunch of issues with the screen. I sent it back to them and they said they fixed it, but still had the same issue when I got it back.
@@yess5605Been happy with it on all fronts, but just one thing to note though. I've noticed the edges are a bit blurry/darker, does anyone else have this issue? It gets darker vertically on both edges, about the width of a scroll bar, more noticeable on white/lighter backgrounds. Not sure if it's just a viewing angle thing. If I move myself to either side and look the the corners/edges straight on, it's perfectly fine. If you look out for it, you'll see it in this video as well.
They say that true hdr in oled is great, but there is a possibility of burning pixels, and they say that hdr in led is not good, what should one really do?
buy an oled monitor from asus, you get 3 years burn in warranty. If you most of the time use your monitor for gaming, go with oled, if you read a lot, maybe ips is better. i prefer oled, burn in is not anything you should be worrying about anymore. its almost completely removed. So: If you are willing to spend 1400€ buy oled, if not, go with ips, there are better ips panels, you just need to spend more money.
I got the PG27AQDM and it’s incredible. I have a 7900 xtx and use the “Vivid Gaming” setting on top of HDR. By far the prettiest monitor I’ve owned and the $900 price tag is quite fair in comparison with other oled offerings in the bracket. And the “matte” finish is actually better imo as I use a dual monitor setup and have next to no light bleed from the 2nd monitor.
@@yousihard8569 yeah man it’s not hard to read at all. I sit about 12-18 inches from the screen and have no problem reading. Very rarely even notice the pixel pattern of the oled.
Got it and I like it but I cant get any volume from the headphone jack. It's really quiet. I can boost it quite a bit with loudness enhancement in the windows settings but then that normalises the volume which is annoying. Any ideas?
If I were you I'd definitely pick the c3 42 because it's OLED but unfortunately it's not available in my country so I'm gonna just go with the ultragear 32
i’ve just bought an odyssey g7 and it has some blacklight bleed and the darker areas glitch when local dimming is enabled. Overall the monitor is good and it has very beautiful colors and hdr
@@Tk_yo I mean I like it. Ghosting / Smearing I did not really notice unless I am scrolling text with a black background. KVM is cool, monitor auto detects active inputs which is cool. Speakers are not good but it has a great picture handled games (Fortnite, MLB the Show, PUBG, Diablo 4, Vallabh) extremely well and text looks great on it. When I got it I had to return two to find one that didn't have light bleed which is pretty normal for a curved screen. At what it is going for now though it is a pretty good value. The HDMI on it is 24 not true 48 Gbps but I truly could not tell. It ran on an XBox X and Intel ARC A750 and honestly looked fantastic. I ended up returning this above mentioned LG and am still using the M32UC until I find a decent VA monitor but am in no hurry. One feature I really like is that the stand allows you to adjust the monitor so that it is basically sitting flush with your desk, LG for instance only goes down to a point that you have a 4' gap between monitor and desk.

@@IdeoDLaw $300 for a 32-inch, IPS, 4K, 144hz monitor? Keep dreaming. This isn't some trashy 27-iinch monitor with a resolution (1440p) for ants from 2010... And OLED is quite literally the definition of an outdated panel aka planned obsolescence. 3 year warranties for OLED panels are very telling of their reliability.
$300 dollar for these specs. Yeah in about 5 years perhaps. Get real 🤣🤣 this monitor is a steal even at full price. Right now (June 2024) on sale on Amazon 15% off in the UK. Pick one up and stop trolling comment sections 😘
@calvin65 wtf are you talking about 1440p is absolutely the best for gaming right now, I had a 27 inch 4k and swapped to 1440p because it's a pretty small difference and not worth the performance cost at all, 4k only makes sense on 32 inches and above I think and me and many other people I think don't want 32 inch monitors because they're too big especially for fps games.
On another review you said that if it has freesync premium but not pro it doesn’t support vrr with hdr on so what is true cuz I really consider buying this monitor
