@@joshua-ty2lu I was using a 27" before. This is the first time i use a TV as monitor and i think 42 is a reasonable size for it. Maybe 48 if your table is really large.
@sakari9494 How have you found it since? I'm considering it as well but also thinking about the MSI MEG 342C QD OLED Monitor. Have you fou d hDR to be good?
There is supposedly no difference in brightness, its like 10-20cd/m2 which is hardly something you will notice. If it was 40-50 then definitely. Better buy an MLA panel instead.
I just bought the 55" C4, replacing my 55" 60Hz FireTV LED. Nailed 144Hz right away and 'holy $#!+'! Remember "LGTV Companion" for auto on/off with your PC. Great video!
Thank you for this video, I am moving soon and I will have to leave my monitors behind.. I was looking at the C4 or the LG 32GS95UE and your review convinced me to get the C4. Keep up the good work!
The flicker issue is 1000% your cable. I also had it on my C2. NOTHING helps for a long time. Not even buying the most expensive HDMI cables. However: It gets 100% fixed if you use an optical HDMI cable! They are not even that expensive (30 bucks on amazon). The actual issue is not gsync or your gpu or your PC or your TV. Its static charge on the electronics that somehow is not properly shielded with LG TVs. They have some sort of fault on their TVs mainboards. Just buy an optical cable like the ones from FIBBR and you will never have any flicker ever again.
Thanks for the advice i hope this fixes a similar issue I had with my c2 where HDR content would flicker ghosting colors and look bad, bought this c4 and a optical hdmi and I hope that fixes the issue i had while gaming
Glad I returned it and spent more money on the s95d it blows the C series out the water was always skeptical on the matte finish but it’s down right amazing 1,700 plus nit brightness in game mode without losing any of that qd oled vibrancy
Was gonna replace my C1 for the C4 as a monitor. But that flicker that happens when on HDR+ 144hz is a deal breaker. Doubt LG will fix it. Will wait for the C5 instead
I am trying to figure out if i want to get the c4 as my monitor or the ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM about the same price i am using a c3 until i put it in my bedroom as a tv, just want to know the difference
You never buy these TVs at launch, the prices very wildly. From what I hear the c4 is actually cheaper at launch than the c3 in regions outside the US. Will be the same story in a year where the C5 comes out, the c4 will be at or even below the c3 price now. Basically better off buying a gen behind every time.
@@zvaIa I had bought the remote for lg 42 c2 but and turned for the auto dimming from inside the special menu but it still dimmed the screen constantly while gaming..
There could be so many different causes, for me it was possibly GPU related because the next monitor 4k monitor I tested had the same flicker, changing the whole GPU fixed it 😅
great review. i already have a 42" c2 and anything else would just be a side-grade i feel. i might pick this up on sale as my c2 does have some burn in now (my decision to turn off all the burn in protection lol) and 144hz would be nice but flickering needs to be ironed out. i know there's tons of oled/qd-oled monitors out there now but i love how clean lg's tvs are and you get great value for the money...i know, as i was always upgrading to the latest high end ips gaming monitor back in the day...until i picked up a cx. after 5 minutes i knew ips was dead and i stopped using my "gaming monitor" until i finally replaced it with the 42" c2.
@@haleygao static images over long periods of time will cause burn in. the one thing that really annoyed me about the c2 was the asbl, which caused dimming of the picture in games and regular desktop use. i was forced to turn it off using a service remote. i believe that was the only thing i actually turned off, i also had my brightness to 100% for a bit. after about a year the burn in became noticeable even with a screensaver and being mindful, it's too easy to over expose it with static images during desktop use. maybe if you run it at really low brightness but at that point it's just annoying and not worth it. it is what it is, i think the picture you get is too good to not use an oled. i have since set up different brightness levels for desktop/gaming use. no regrets and i'd turn off asbl again on any newer model if it was ruining my experience.
So you know you cannot access service menu on the c4 anymore. You need a special program on Your PC that can re-enable the service menu, and it's not known when LG will also remove this possibility
@@lllongreen good to know. without a service remote i wouldn't have been able to live with the constant dimming so this might influence my purchase, unless the c4 "fixed" it. which sucks because i really like the product.
This will be my next monitor. But I’ll wait until 2025 to get one 😅 Not worth it at the current prices. $899 or lower and I’m in. Edit: Rtings hasn’t reviewed the 42” C4 (it’s in their queue). You cannot use their review of the 65” size for brightness figures.
I bought this tv and noticed a little slight stutter when gaming on God of War Ragnarok and Halo Infinite. I play on PC and everything works great as intended. However, console gaming is a little weird with VRR 120Fps. Anyone experience the same thing. PC gaming is fantastic.
@@Johnon775 I guess a new patch was released and the TV's VRR works better. So far PC gaming is a must. Just remember you have to go to Game Optimizer and activate 144hzs mode.
Only if you really want it brighter and want the higher 144Hz. If you’re ok with the current brightness levels, then i personally think it’s not worth it at the current prices. If you get it heavily discounted like the current C3 prices, then it might be worth it. IF you’re not satisfied with brightness, then go for it 🔥 the brighter display makes it better
Still no 400nits SDR brightness is what the main issues with current gen OLEDS especially who is looking for productivity. HDR can’t be used for all content 🤦🏻♂️
I don't have a daily lol I switch it up all the time so I can get accustomed to the different sizes and resolutions to give out my review and opinions lol
Few days back got the lg c4 48 inches I think it needs good calibration as colours are not accurate out of the box My ps4 titles uncharted 4, the last of us 2 , gow ragnarok dont pop as expected in hdr Can anyone help me on this
How is it here in the Video that the Input lag is 0,03ms? I mean, on other Information, it has 5ms or at least 144hz 4,7ms Is it because the 2024 Version is what it makes? On Amazon, it's as Expensive as the 2023 Version. Can anyone Explain it?
The size difference really changes the experience, but if it were me, I would personally go for AW3225QF, since using it as a monitor is easier and isn't so huge.
If you don’t turn of PC 144Hz Mode, it will just be locked to 120Hz. Other than that, you can change Hz on the PC side, but there’s no way to change it natively on the TV itself
@@FIREWOLFTECH you means the extension boards that are called the surge protector? Actually yesterday i got the ups and now i am regretting it. made my room hot than the usual , so was thinking to use my gaming pc directly from surge protector board
@@drunkhusband6257 If the C4’s HDMI ports were 144Hz natively, that would mean any device connected to it that can output 144Hz would be able to detect the “native” signal. The reason why LG lists the Refresh Rate as 120Hz “Native” is because there is no need for additional settings or special “effects” to get it to run 120Hz. The fact you have to turn on a special 144hz setting in the menu that ONLY works on PC means that it is not 144Hz native.
this size on the table to big, you sitting to close to tv, which is double damaging your eyes plus they get tired quickly and getting red. You might don't feel it, but it's fact. For this kind of desks better and safer use max 37" sizes.
its not too big. Desk depth is 26 inches with monitor arm I push all the way back and set the height perfectly. I use glasses that block blue lights and I also use dark room brightness at night which prevent a lot of that
It will work with any GPU, but supported resolutions depend on the card itself. Since 40-series all support HDMI 2.1, you'll be able to output 4K @ 120Hz and 144Hz 🔥
It is important to note that 1440p on a 4k screen will not look as good as 1440p on a 1440p screen - probably a bit blurry. So maybe you could check if you can run 4k with DLSS quality for example.
please share the Name of GTR live wallpaper thanks. And please share a guide for PS5 controller which you have linked up with your PC please please please.
hello but this screen is not too big ? i ll buy rtx4080 so 32 '' it s ok but if i go 42'' i m scared i don want to buy rtv 4090 and i want to play ultra detail with confort thks to help me thks for this video !!!!
@@ghinochips5842 well, mine is perfectly fine. Updated the newest firmware for perfect hdr and Dolby vision content. Rocking Warzone with more than 200fps with deep blacks and poping colors no issues.

Depends how far away you are... At a desk... Yup!! But for some ppl (controller users maybe) whom might have it on the wall or something... Bigger could make sense...
@@_ATHENODOROS_ different strokes... Here's another setup possibility... I play primarily racing games with wheel and pedal setup in my room and my display is on the wall so on and so forth you get what I'm saying... But yeah this seems big on desk .. But then again... maybe some ppl want that... If so, good for them! 👍
IMO it just the matter of proper distance and you'll get used to it. When I bought my first 32" display I was like "OMG its so huge, how Ill handle it?!" - and after a few years I can't imagine working on a smaller one.
I think you’re referring to it being too big for a Gaming Desk Setup. A lot of it depends on viewing distances, size of your desk, and also how you scale the Display. I think whenever you see a huge size bump in TVs or even how phones got so big, the initial reaction is “it’s too big” but when you’re using it for a while, you get used to it. This is how I feel every time I switch screen sizes, takes a few days to get accustomed
I’m playing with controller, and it’s how I’ve always enjoyed racing games since NFSPU2. Now if I had a steering wheel, then I could understand the argument.
@@drunkhusband6257 you must throw up in your mouth whenever you see NASCAR, Formula 1, Drag Racing, etc. on TV or online 😂 I get it, if it ain’t you actually in the cockpit, you gonna be 🤢
