@@rayc1557 My family are using LG 2-door fridge for 15 years. And it's still work with no problem since the first day use.

Our LG refrigerator has been out of service for a month and a half now and after most of a dozen You will receive a call back in 2 to 3 business days that never happens. No resolution. Expect your fridge to last about three years the gentleman who said his was 15 years old obviously did not have the in-line compressor that is the source of all of these failures class action lawsuits etc. but just don’t expect any customer support because there is none.

What model is your fridge? And if it has had multiple repairs, according to lemon law you should get a new one (assuming there actually is a problem with the fridge, I'm not sure how far lemon law goes), after multiple repairs. And you're defrosting your freezer? Regardless if it keeps happening I'd say just go back to putting ice cube trays in the freezer

Avoid LG refrigerators like the plague. They do not last.

In that case, go for a two drawer model.

Might I recommend anything but LG whirlpool for example somebody that actually offers service for the products that they provide plus whirlpools less likely to fail LG you can bet on it

Don't do it. Believe me, there is no point in having a beautiful refrigerator that goes out, spoils your food, then requires a string of repairs.

I do some search and discover that, fridge sold in Europe are expensive like crazy. In East Asia countries, with 150$, we could have a small 2door babe fridge and excellent energy save. LG fridge is good, but not the best. There some models comes from Hitachi, Mitsubishi... which used for JP market only are very very good.

I have the same criticism Nea. The LG fridge with drawers on bottom and doors on top aren't sold in Europe. I checked so many shops, both online and offline, and I can't find any place to get them. Not even the official LG website sells them to Germany for example. They just aren't in the list. I don't know. Maybe we could import that specific model directly from South Korea, but that's so crazy; Transport would be expensive as hell for that weight (probably 500-1000€ just for that), then you'd hope nothing breaks or is damaged while it's being transported, and then you hope that all the electrical systems match to your country (cables, sockets, voltage, etc. You should NEVER use adapters for fridges). I'm only interested in this particular setup: french doors on top, and drawers on the bottom. I can't find this combination anywhere to buy though. The top part most people use daily, so it has to be a two door solution with a lot of room. However, the Side-By-Side models that LG offers and that are so widely available are all useless in that regard, because "Side-By-Side" means they have the entire left side of the fridge as a freezer, and the right side of the fridge is regular refrigerator - both sides from top to bottom. When you think about it, for daily use of the Side-By-Side models you would most of the time open the right door only, but would need to crouch down to access the lower compartments every time - grabbing veggies, fruits or whatever. That is just bad design in my opinion (very inconvenient for what your body needs to do), and a waste of space too. You'd be going in your knees multiple times a day, every day. So ultimately the big down side of Side-By-Side fridges is that at eye-level you only have a narrow space for both fridge and freezer. You always have to crouch. The fridge compartment should be top side only, with two doors, and a lot of space. Nothing else. Also, just like you pointed out, anything that is not a drawer for the freezer section ends up being very small and separated. The Side-By-Side freezer section is too narrow, and the regular two-door-freezers on the bottom that some LG models have also are separated into 6 small compartments with walls and end up being narrow. It's just bad design again. My 20-year-old noname refridgerator is already narrow on top and bottom, so if I'm buying a new one, I don't want the same lack-of-space problems. ugh

At lease you got Mitsubishi and Hitachi fridge in Europe there’s no Japanese Appliance in the US at all

Because few people will want that, I will never want because my refrigerator is messy and never organized, so that will look bad.

@@norfaizahshafie2012 as i mentioned above bought it 2 years ago, we got it fixed, and received a food loss paycheck from LG because of the lawsuit. We are not confident to buy LG stuff anymore for sure we didnt even pick Samsung for most of the electronics initially.

@@steviereay It is well known in South Korea that LG products never be broken unless you break it. You will bring it to your grave. I saw many LG customers update their reviews after 20-40 yrs from purchase.

@@RonaldJung86 ours had a compressor failure in 3 years. Do your research, they are designed to fail. The only worst thing than their refrigerators are their customer service ours has been out for a month and a half and they won't do a thing about it.

@@steviereay Unless you have a research with a considerable amount of data that shows a big enough failure rate of LG refrigerator compressors, you can not make the assumption that they are bad and are going to fail within 2-3 years. Even then you have to factor in all other manufacturer's data and compare the results. My best guess is that you were just unlucky. Of course if it is under warranty and they refuse to fix it, then we can say they have a bad customer service. Is that LG themselves or a reseller refusing to send it to LG?

Yes our refrigerator has been out of commission for one and a half months now and LG customer service is nonexistent we live in Des Moines Iowa and there is not one LG service tech within 60 miles so we’ve been sitting here waiting for callbacks that never happened do not buy LG

Compressors are the main issues, after 2 years ten month my compressor went out i lost about $310 worth of food, they reimbursed me $300 for my food. They have time frame that is has to be repaired by and it went pass that time, they reimbursed me over $1,900.

You're paying for the technology basically. Just buy the basic LG model like mine and it's all i need. I mean if my budget would allow to buy one with an integrated ice maker i would.
