If you live in countries like Australia or NZ as examples, manufacturer warranties are "basically" meaningless, where turning off the auto dimming feature would absolutely not void your rights under consumer law.

While that's good and all, but it'll be a shitshow to fight the manufacturer about the warranty, and the amount of time you'll have to waste with all the back and forth.

This review comforts me in my idea of having my setup in my new apartment connected to an OLED TV, so I can save money by not buying desk/chair and just relax on a sofa for gaming. Most games that I play on pc is with a Xbox controller anyway. For the few games I intend to play with mouse + keyboard, it’s going to be both wireless for convenience and it will be totally fine 👍🏻

got this yesterday from John Lewis in London for £674, it was a customer return so the price went down quite substantially from £899 ( wich I was about to pay anyway until I've spotted the resealed box). It is a a great display and tv, also my first oled so yeah, can't complain :). Not sure it matters for most but I think it worth mentioning that the magic remote works natively with Samsung DEX wich is great feature.

I've been using a Sony 43" TV as a monitor since 2016. At the time Sony was the easiest to adjust for issues such as over/under scanning. However, I don't play interactive games, so lag is not a problem. I look forward to upgrading to Sony's 2024 TV when it's available, probably 48-55" along with a slightly deeper desk. HDMI 2.x compatible Thunderbolt 4 docks can have issues with HDMI 1.4 devices, it works, but not without the odd glitch.

Does the c3 requires disabling tpc and gsr like it was on c1? Does it auto dim when you spend too much time in one scene or has lg fixed it ? btw as 3 years c1 user, I set my wallpapers to rotate every 1 minute because why not. I have tons of screenshots. Using black background is lame because with browsing window in the middle, it will use the middle of the screen more

Don’t worry about burn in man I’ve been running an OLED for two years as a gaming monitor for my pc. I was worried at first but honestly forgetting about it then remembering after a year of straight gaming, RU-vid consumption sometimes Netflix not a single bit of burn in. @@CRF250R1521 I understand that everyone's finances are different, but personally I would say that an 8 year old tv that you played 3000 hours of one game on (and I'm assuming that's not the only thing you did on it), it's fine if it's just used up at that point. I'd be fine if I had to get a new one after 3 or 4 years of intensive use too actually. Also the 2016 models still had a lot more issues with burn-in, the generations after that got a lot better, both in software and in hardware in the panel itself and in cooling it. If you really need to have your monitor last for longer than 8 years... Well honestly I just wouldn't buy such an expensive one in the first place because any device can fail. If money's tight I'd go for a $200 monitor or so and save the rest as a buffer for unforseen expenses. If money's not tight... Well like I said just accept that at some time you'll need to replace it.

Got the c2 42 , only thing i was upset with is the lack of dts audio support which this tv has. I think the c3 is a great tv but just wait for it to fall in price and dont pay 4 figures for it. I found the speakers were a bit crappy so i got a soundbar with passthrough e-arc and its great too.
@fridarey

Did the same, there was a 50% discount on soundbars bought with the C3 so I went for an S75Q soundbar. Short of desk space so the C3 sits on top of it perfectly despite what the doomer owners of 83" TVs love to point out, Sounds great!

At least I can get some dts audio support albeit limitted 4k 60 no vrr and gsync HDMI 2.0 limitation but I'm okay with it. C3 is a great tv if you get it for a right price. And that soundbar will put mine to shame I've got 2.1 system Sony xt8500😂 But yeah great choice sounds pricey.

on my c342 i get 8bits colour depth on 4k 60hz sdr, when I turn on hdr it still stays same, but when I lower refresh rate to 24hz I get rgb 12bit colour depth. What colour depth should I get on 4k sdr 60hz? is there a setting I should change?

you should be getting 120Hz at any setting. What GPU are you driving it with? Does your GPU have a HDMI 2,1 output and are you connecting with a cable designed for at least 30+Gbps? HDMI is a pain as cables can make all the difference

@@fridarey ? I am asking about colour depth. 4k 120hz is only supported by high end graphic cards and yes higher bandwidth cable with 2.1 port is needed. My laptop is outdated GTX 1050ti, I get 4k 60hz it can't do 120hz

@@vincent6210higher bit depth also requires more bandwidth. So it could be cables but also your gpu is a bit old for all the specs you wanna hit

i got the proper 2.1 zeskit maya cable, it might be the gpu. Do you have any source to confirm it?@@ChristopherOdd
