Nice video mate. I saw on another video that during gaming, if you want to change to a different mode for example RPG, you have to take additional steps on the C3 compared to the C2. Is that still the case or did a firmware update come out recently that changes that?

Just got a 48" C3 for my PS5 and LOVE IT! My first OLED and it has really blown me away. I also got a decent deal at just under $900 for the 48". I originally bought a 42" but realized it doesn't come with a center stand so it would not fit on my setup, then I saw a 48" on eBay that was $5 cheaper with a holiday code for an extra 20% off. All worked out. Also weirdly the screen is way thinner on the 48", like as thin as a pane of thin glass (the 42" was about twice as thick for some reason).

Hi - Nice video, thank you. I had a question about productivity workflow when using an OLED, specifically if you ever capture any HDR footage through e.g. OBS (if you don't then this comment/question can probably be ignored haha). I recently switched from 3 IPS 27" monitors to a single screen, using the LG 42" OLED. I absolutely love the additional screen space and the experience when gaming etc is great. I can easily capture HDR footage after changing settings in OBS too. However when loading said HDR footage into e.g. DaVinici Resolve (or Adobe) it appears washed out etc. After some googling it would appear that people who use OLED for colour correction etc edit on a separate PC/monitor and pass the HDR content through e.g. a DeckLink capture PCIE card and to the OLED, which will then display it properly. So I was interested in what your workflow is or if you've run into any issues etc? Or if you have any workarounds, such as capturing in SDR whilst playing in HDR etc?

I just got the c3 42 inch 3 days ago and its plenty bright for me especially on HDR, contrary to what other reviewers are saying. At first I had hesitations due to the size, but at a 70cm deep table, its just fine, and I even get less neck strain compared to my previous 27 in.

100% agree! I've got brightness dropped right down, as it's pretty full-on when maxxed-out. I have my C3 42" as a monitor for my PC, Mac and PS5, sitting right back on a 60cm desk, scaled at 125%, and it's perfect. I sit back in my chair properly and maintain correct posture rather than with my old monitors, where I was leaning forward and hunched-over. The majority of the reviews I've seen aren't reflective of real-world usage IMO.

Hello MinimalisTech, I bought LG C3 evo 42 inches but 2 small side stands for table top which come inside the box are missing, when I told LG about this they are saying either you will get wall mounted kit or small side stands which should have already been given inside the TV box. What should I do any ideas?

Actually the C2 (new) is a rare find. Everyone that I saw was Overpriced. So I started watching a new C3 42" on eBay, and last Friday the Vendor offered me a Discount (Final Price $863 + tax). I took it of course! Now I just have to wait a few more days for it to arrive. 👍👍 It's here and is really great. In particular the motion handling is far superior to my older Samsung 40". Plus the colors (after some adjustments) are spectacular. I mounted mine to a monitor arm. And I use it in a room without strong light sources, so I'm very happy with the glossy screen. I also use mine exclusively as a PC monitor, and I have Schiit Audio gear, so I don't really see myself using the sound functions. So overall I'm delighted with my purchase.

Grats! I too just got one from eBay, got a 48" for $895 (used that recent eBay holiday code that gave you 20% off). I actually originally bought the 42" but realized it would not fit in my setup with those wide little feet stands, so finding the 48" for not much more was perfect.

I own and daily a c3 OLED. Let me just say playing on an OLED for the first ever time truly is brilliant. I mean it’s something that’s expensive but if you’re truly interested in pushing your console to its limits and seeing what it’s capable of I couldn’t recommend one more. OLEDs definitely are more dim than typical lcd panels though.

YUP! Still thinking of checking out the A90K. I just reaaaaallly like OLEDs The TCL Mini-LEDs are incredible actually, soooo much brighter. I have mine in the bedroom which is flooded with light all the time. I wish the new R655's were in Canada but they're not here yet. Not sure if it's US only. TCL doesn't even sell in the UK at all so not sure if it'll make it here.

So I bought a Samsung mid-range 65 inch. When I first got it compared to my 10-year-old 1080p LG lcd I thought it was a vast improvement. But if I'm not watching 4K HDR content on RU-vid like nature videos or whatever, it's just okay honestly. This took me to looking at oh that's for 50% more money or even double or triple the price you can get an OLED. Money being an actual thing I decided to look at last year models. So I'm looking at the C2, the G2 and the Samsung s95b. Looks like the Samsung may look a little bit better but it seems to suffer from a lot more issues with screen changing colors and banding etc That takes me to is a G2 better than a c3. Should I get a C2 or a G2 now? Should I wait until next year to get the discounted price on a c3 or G3?

I think if you find it in stock and for a good price, you should get the G2/C2. But if you want to get a higher brightness oled wait for the prices to drop on the G3.

I had the C2 42" recently and I wanted to use it as a monitor but it was too big, I don't know how people can use it as a monitor. Ended up getting the LG 27" OLED monitor and I'm much happier.

I have the 27 OLED and might return it for a C2/c3 because I already had a decent 27 LG IPS panel But for games like resident evil and diablo. I feel the larger display might be nice to sit back and chill. Then when it's time for FPS turn on my GL850B. How are you liking your 27GR?

@@Verddayy I returned it. Have a 42 inch c3 now. I liked it, it was a good monitor. Personally it was too much motion for my PS5 and wanted something larger for story games rpg and all that stuff. I have a PC but don't use it all that often and it's connected to a LG 27 850b, I have a 32 in oddessy g7 from 2020 that I left my homie use when he's over. Idk maybe one day the 27 inch oled will be worth it to me but for what I needed I was OK without it.

What’s the best settings for the picture when gaming? I’m playing spiderman 2 and the city seems a bit blurry at night with all the city lights, not sure if that’s normal? Or maybe I need a better hdmi cable?

Your ps5 comes with a capable hdmi cable. Dive into game presets in your ps5 setting and select performance mode. Also sometimes the games themselves have a setting where you have to activate certain things

It has a gaming mode. I would use that and make sure VRR is turned on as that will help make it smoother.

i'd skip LG and look at QDOLED tvs. LG just cannot hold a candle to them, especially the C series. However, if you do not have the income settling for a C2 is not awful just not that amazing either.

Right now it’s better to just buy c2 for cheaper price or save your $ for 27-32 inch Oled monitor when it goes on sale. C3 is great but not the best time to get it now.

Yo! It’s all subjective per person. I think maybe at least 24” for a 42” That can be even greater if flush mounted on a wall by a desk. I’m still considering it

In the video settings it’ll read 4k60 no matter what. In game “game mode” turns on automatically. You’ll see 120hz while gaming. Cheers

LG just can't compete against a Sony or Samsung QOLED. The c3 is a pitiful step sideways. G3 is solid, but still just getting left in the dust. Solid for people who want a solid picture and can't afford the best.
