No one expects a 500 ansi lumen mini projector perform well during daytime. It is like buying a motorcycle and saying this is worthless because it cannot carry three persons.
I dont understand why people want to use projectors during daytime... that's what tvs are for. And a room with blackout curtains solves this during the day... I have a Samsung Lifestyle Projector. It's awesome at night with some lights on in my office. The battery and portability are great too. If only it allow USB play back. It could be brighter. It could have a slightly quieter fan. But compared to cheap projectors, it blows them away. This LG could be the perfect upgrade. Can use the same USB battery (not sure how long it would last? 2 - 3 hours probably) Even better and brighter image. I currently eARC the Samsung bacl to an LG 5.0 Soundbar and improves the audio heaps. I could Bluetooth to my Samsung Q990B for proper surround (although it might just downsample to stereo and need to fake it). Cable probably better. The little projectors are a niche rather than everyday item. Something to take outside when having people over or by the pool. I dont think I'd want to move a Short Throw projector around too much. Like the Samsung, it would be worth waiting for a while and a sale price. :)
Still gonna buy this thing, it looks beautiful. Anyone buying a projector expecting cinematic sound is doing it wrong. You will need to add sound to it .
@@nickybains That sounds like a great combo. I plan to use Apple HomePod 2 in a stereo pair when I get the LG Cinebeam Q. Genuinely shocked how good a pair of HomePods sound for movies.
I just bought one of these and I'm pretty blown away with it. My intention being used in the evenings in my bedroom which has curtains and can be dark all day anyway. Wow the picture is stunning. Black levels are excellent too after some calibration. I tried it with some games with my RTX 4080 pc and it's also great and the input lag is very manageable. Probably FPS gaming is not ideal but I tried Diablo 4 and Callisto Protocol and they both play and look stunning. The remote is absolute drek. Should be thrown in the trash, but with the ThinQ app on the phone it will emulate the remote like a charm and probably a bit faster than using a remote anyway. Not an excuse though as I have no idea what LG was thinking with that remote. Also with sound I am outputting to speakers via BT so I just avoid using the inbuilt ones. I don't actually understand why people get excited by speakers built into a projector. Modestly priced stereo speakers with correct placement at the front of the viewing space will always sound better. I took your review and a few others and just went for it but I can safely recommend this for those who can use it in a darker room and wants excellent picture quality.
i just ordered it, my friend got one and i tried it out it ticks all the boxes, easy to carry and set up, pack it in a bag for trips, i like watching movies in a dark room and no projector will give me the sound i want anyway so i have a bose portable. its time to say gbye to my nebula
Thank you for your feedback and sharing your experience! Overall I'm still happy with this, especially listening to my content using my airpods at night, it's such a great projector. Hopefully the price comes down to around 800 over time though
@@TrendingReviewshow does this compare to the dangbei atom in terms of image pixellization in a dark room though? Does a brighter 1080p look clearer than a dimmer 4k projector?
@@choc3732 I just project onto a wall. It's easier to do that vs a screen as you don't have to worry about the image bleeding off the side or needing the projector to be dead inline for that to work. I have a dedicated full size projector out in the lounge which works better for that.
First time watching one of your videos - great review! Very informative. Loved the demos of the videos, the ALR screen comparison and the speaker quality analysis. Keep it up!
My wife bought me one for my birthday (lucky man) - the fan is loud and the built-in speaker is terrible so some kind of sound bar or headphones are a must - but the image is great for the tiny size - it does need a dark-ish room but it's a feat of miniaturisation. I love mine.
loud as in what? i've got the "Samsung The Freestyle" and it's "loud" with its fans like a graphics card in a desktop computer running full speed i'd say.
i bought one - image is outstanding for the size and i do have many portable projectors. Of course with 500 ansi you don't expect to be super bright in daylight. i bought it along the speaker the give as a gift so audio with an external speaker is ideal. agreed with the remote - not sure if there is an option to purchase a different remote that can work from all sides. Besides the latter i am blown with the image and colors and it's tiny size.
Great review, I really like this projector. I actually don't mind the remote being made of plastic, rather don't get why it only has IR in 2024, when my Philips Picopix from 2020 already has BT. I would say that it would be a great price value if it cost between 600-800€. With the current price tag around 950€ (in Germany), it is just too expensive.
I was hesitated at first because of low ansi lumens but all of negative thoughts swept away as soon as turned on, it’s more like over 1000 ansi lumens and seriously breathtaking picture quality like OLED, Just INCREDIBLE!!
@@NethirOsman yes still amazing picture, even full HD on Netflix looks surreal, No Bluetooth sound latency whatsoever, It is easy to carry around, the weight is only 1.5kg👍
Great 4k picture up to 80-90". Trying to go over 100" seems to confuse the auto keystone and focus and it gets fuzzy. Going in to 'lnstallation wizard' and tweaking keystone and focus manually works well but its not the 'anytime, anywhere' of the promo. Bluetooth connection to sound system or wireless headset is essential. Remote is very poor and requires you to point it right at the projector. At this price you should have the backlit 'magic remote' with this . Great 2nd projector for tv bingeing on Netflix but NOT for movies ! Would wait for it to come down to about £7-800.
I wonder about the durability when traveling with this in a carry on luggage. It looks durable enough but you never know, and it's a painful thing to find out.
What is that car backview mirror like device on the wall just right side of the projector screen?, the device has charger attached it seems. Thanks in advance
Many projectors don’t compete very well with tvs during daytime. This is so small and with the stated lumens I don’t know why this reviewer is pretending it’s a hot take news flash that it’s not bright enough for daytime rooms. It never stated or hinted that it could perform in lit rooms.
Gracias.
I'm in love with the form factor. This projector is very good for its size and integrated speakers are not necessary for me. I'm thinking about getting this one, or should I get the XGIMI Halo+? Maximum distance to the wall: 3.5m. Maximum diagonal projection area: 126". For use only in darkness. Thank you!
No budget? Then this is a great portable projector tbh, especially if you're going to use it mainly at night time. Dangbei Atom is also another great choice.
This is the review I was looking for the LG Cinebeam Q! I wish it had a compatible tripod/stand to point up to the ceiling. The bluetooth sound out feature can apparently connect to two devices simultaneously e.g. two pairs of airpods. Could you please test and confirm?
I can confirm I connected 2 headphones simultaneously and both are giving sound output! I used my Airpods Pro and Senheisser headphones together. Hope that helps!
