You should rotate 1 at 180 and the other at 270 so you can put the thinner bezzles adjacent to each other.

I would really like to see a review of 3 of these. I think it would be an awesome setup. You could set up webcams between them right at eye level and occasionally switch between the cameras to alter the view for the stream.

Ordered one today to replace my LG 32UD99-W....or at least bring that monitor upstairs to a desk. This dualup is perfect for my bar next to the kitchen and I love how the mount moves. A typical wide monitor doesn't quite work at the bar as it obstructs the view/sightlines....aesthetic and productivity reasons for the purchase....but I think this will do the trick and a perfect space to push it so it stays out of sightlines. I think I'm going to love it. Thanks for the review.

@@MichaelSoledad Haven’t received it yet. I had to cancel the order and reorder. I agree what you are saying to a point. Widescreen seems to be created for televisions but doesn’t quite compute to computers. I have the newest, meaning the last produced IBM T221 monitors. They’re junk now, but they were quirky to say the least. We see a lot of quirky designs from that $3500 55 curved gaming monitor to the one that is I think 40” that motorized manually. I am looking forward to an old past time, looking at the magazine rack. I use to switch my old 32 vertical, what a pain, now with Apple News, I can scroll magazines with more life

Can you explain what you mean at 7:50 about the secondary screen not rotating? Are you saying that if you have 2 different devices plugged in, one of the screen will be rotated but not the other?

I have two dual ups BUT the second display goes to sleep when not in use and I can’t get it to wake up unless I restart my Mac mini :/ Any advice?

Currently I work on a tripple 24" system, so I planed to work with 3 of them, because of the middle line! Question is, could it be that I run into trouble because of graphic card/resolution with 3 of this displays?

I have one of them connected to my thunderbolt port and the other to my CalDigit Hub. I've actually not tried daisy chaining them but I'm not sure it will work.

They are both connected to my CalDigit dock which is then connected to my MacBook. So whatever sound comes out of my laptop, feeds to my dock and exits the monitors.

Really nice setup! But how is the resolution of the DualUp monitor? Is it similar to 4K?

It’s not 4K but surprisingly good. The SQHD (2560X2880) does a good job making things look crisp. Good enough that I have no complaints using it even when editing photos.

I like it. I also wish camera tech went towards a square mirror less sensors instead of traditional 2:3. Easier in post for vertical or horizontal use.

Few questions. Great video by the way. 1. How are you connecting your MacBook to the 2x screens. I'm assuming macOS detects it as 2 x screens? 2. How are you mounting the MagSafe charger on your monitor riser

Thank you! I have one monitor connected directly to my MacBook via USB-C. The other one is connected to my CalDigit dock which then is connected to my MacBook via thunderbolt port. The MagSafe charger is an accessory of the Balolo Setup Cockpit. If the link isn’t in the description I’ll update it today but you can find more details in a previous video I posted titled “my 2022 Dream Desk Setup”

@@thehometowncollective That's odd. What about plugging the monitors on each side of the MBP? I remember having to do that as the MBP only recognizes the monitors if they're on opposite ports.

I think it works well. You can download a free app called better display. It helps you calibrate the resolution for you monitors so you can make them match as close as possible.

Actually not bad. I was expecting the worst but I ended up being pleasantly surprised. The texts look sharp enough that unless it’s next to my 5K it wouldn’t bother me at all.

On MacOS I use BetterDisplay app for my DualUp. The difference in quality is spectacular. Makes the Studio Display purchase even more ridicules.

When the monitor is attached and pushed all the way back how much space does it take up (assuming there is a wall behind the desk)? 10 inches? (Depth from front of monitor to back of desk)

You can actually rotate the base of the arm so that it is facing sideways which allows you to push the monitor back further.

At their native resolution, just one of these DualUp displays exactly as much a 5K 49” ultrawide, which is just slightly less than a 4K monitor. It’s a shocking realization because it’s a relatively compact display.

This is such an unattainable setup for monitors. Priced really well? It’s $1200+ each in Australia. I’m not paying that much even for one for what it is. Also consider - LG gave you these two monitors for free, don’t put ads for other apps within, especially lasting like 5 mins. People pay for YT premium and are forced to sit thru shitty ads on channels.

They will definitely add atuo rotate next time because a lot of youtubers have pointed that out. But by seeing your review I think touch screen will also be a pretty good idea. it would make it a giant tablet.

The PPI is a bit too dense with this, 137 ppi, vs 108 of a 27" 1440p or 110 of 40" 4K, meaning you'll have to sit unusually close. If this were a drawing pen touch screen tablet this kind of size and shape would be incredible, but I don't think it's idea for normal productivity usecases, especially because of how you can display a 16:9 or especially 21:9 video/image/game at anything other than a very very small size. IMO simply getting TWO 38-40" 4K displays is better. More realestate, more versatile, and far more options. I see LG sell a 48" 4K OLED with 120hz and G-sync for 900. 43" 144hz AORUS for 650... Among potentially hundreds of other options, many of which will also support the high + variable refresh 4K signals of the new consoles. With a panel like those, many people could just own that ONE monitor and be set for screens for their whole home, because so many have their PC in their room, and don't have a real use for separate livingroom entertainment.

I’m not sure how you consider getting two 38” displays arranged this comfortably, do you mean on top of one another? I’ve used the dualup alone and with 1 and 2 additional monitors combined and find it a great display and stand combo. It works particularly well with standing desk setups and provides easy dual monitor functionality in tight spaces.

Thank you for your review. I think this LG monitor is the best next display for hardware and software development. I would have bought three of them actually with a thunderbolt 4. Unfortunately I will not be enjoying this because of ugly black back and bezels. I’ll wait for another manufacturer to have in white or aluminum

I thought about a 2 setup like this. My OCD I feel would get to me with the middle boarder split though. It's hard for me to get the right setup. I feel like your main screen should be centered while your 2nd screen should just be a second thought. I went from a 2, 27-in setup, to a 32-in and 22-in vertical combo. It works well. But I do like the ratio of this DualUp. I edit photos and that ratio looks like the right format. 95% of my pictures are shot in portrait mode.

Very little adjustment for me. After using a single DualUp I already knew I wanted to use two of them. I think trying out one will let you know right away if it’s for you or not.

I’m considering swapping my 3 16:10 monitor setup to 3 of these. Not sure what that experience would be like or even supported. I’m also interested in what screensharing would be like on these for zoom for example. Would it by default use the full screen ratio or be smart enough to pick up only half the screen to share as a 16:9 ratio?

I've seen a lot of people complaining of how macbooks display setting aren't compatible with these screens. Did you have this issue with texts and layouts being small or deformed? If so, what was your remedy? I'm assuming these folks just didn't adjust their display settings or simply get a third party app.

No issues for me. And this was before I downloaded the Better Display app. That app helps me adjust the screen settings much more easily than having to go to the typical display settings.

I'm a web developer and I thought this would be a great experience I am receiving mine soon, I will see if it is worth it and definitely would consider switching to a dual DualUP setup. At the moment I have a 34" wide screen curved screen, but as you mention in the video, ergonomics, and lack of "verticality" is one of my main pain point

I am a web developer as well. I have dual 32" vertical monitors currently flanking a 43" monitor. It is my goal when I can actually find these in stock to replace my 32" for these.
