LG Front Load Washer TE Error Code Solved (It's not a thermistor or heater)

• Very common problem in Front Load washers, especially LG ones, is TE Error. Usually swapping the thermistor or heater will solve the problem but not in this case!
• Check your wiring before you waste money on expensive parts and labor
• Tools Used to do the repair
1. Butt Connector (Any wire connector will do but make sure it's something secure so wires don't get disconnected again)
2. Electrical Tape (Tape over the wires so they don't get separated
3. Heater (Since I was using the butt connectors, they needed heat)

Thank you, this is very helpful. I was just about to go buy a new thermistor. When your explanation, I too suspect it must be with all that shaking, as the TE error comes on intermittently during cycle. I just have to shut down and restart the cycle and it will wash to the end after a few try. I will go look for the loose or cut wires and save myself $220.00 quoted by the repair man. Thank you sir.

Good video. My issue was the wire on the thermistor connector. it was still connected. With a little wiggle test it broke in my hands. Quick tip. I tilted my washer to the side, it makes it easy to inspect the thermistor.

Great info, My TE lite in intermittent. I comes on in the middle of the cycle always. I have to turn off the machine, spin the drum, move the washer, and then it will start working again. So I'm thinking it is a frayed wire that is grounding out.

My washer is 12 years old, I just cut an 8 x x10 door hole in the front bottom of the washer to access this heater thermocouple part( So I didn't have to deal with the washer boot). Pull on all of those wires, one at a time, they move and vibrate with the washer drum, and more than one may be broken. None of my wires were broken, just a bad thermocouple/heater unit. Go to McCombs supply to buy the part.

I have bad experience with those crimp joints, usually the wire is very weak and in a short while will break next to the old spot, better to solder them together and fit a piece of heatshrink tube over it.

I went to install a new thermistor and found that the blue wire was disconnected from the white clip that plugs into the thermistor. How do I fix this? I can’t find those white clips anywhere…and I can’t reconnect to it because it has the end clamped in there. It’s such a simple issue, but I don’t know what to do

So this means my LG washer has a very poor design and will happen to every front load LG washer. What a shit company.

This is not extremely common issue. LG Frontload washers are pretty good. Shock absorbers is my first recommendation, because they come with 3 of em instead of 4 like other washers. So that bouncing can reach some of the wires and make a mess Stefan Appliance Technician
