You all prolly dont care at all but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost my account password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Dane Jordan Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I have been so frustrated with the G4 until now. Marshmallow has helped so much. The software annoyances have been fixed like that damn notification panel, the battery is better.. Getting roughly 30-45m more than lollipop. Very happy with the phone.. And Maaan that camera 😍
+Henley Ramoodit the behaviour of the notification panel... Before marshmallow you could expand a notification whilst having the quick toggles open. You had to hide the toggles to then expand. It's fine now.
The LG G4 is amazing, I got it mainly for its price tag, here in Australia a 32GB LG G4 (leather back) cost me $495AUD where as my brother payed $1280AUD for an iPhone 6s with 64gb (Not the plus version either). On top of that, I get better battery life, I have a better camera, I can remove the back and replace the battery in the future, I can add an SD card storage up-to 200GB, I have a crispier 1440p display. While the iPhone is an amazing phone too and I respect both companies, he only gets Force Touch and a slight boost in performance while gaming due to the A9 chip and lower resolution screen. I don't game on my phone and never will, nor did I find Force touch anything but a gimmick really, I also love the unibody of the iPhone but hate the lack of customisability of storage/removable back-cover. Lastly, the OS, which is completely personal, I love how Android can be both Simple & complicated, where as with IOS you are stuck with just "Simple", can't mod anything, can't move anything, I'm not even a heavy tweaker, still running stock OS but I just love to customize my screen to my liking and make it completely minimal with a single widget for my calendar. TLDR: LG G4 > iPhone 6s :D
+Mike S agreed, I feel like the iPhone pricing can be very cruel on some regions, LG on the other hand usually have better value on those regions/countries
+Mike S Good for you! Everyone has their opinion and I respect yours. I can't say that I share yours but I find it hard to believe that someone thinks Force Touch is a gimmick. It let's you skip unnecessary steps so you are more productive. It also enhances the in-app experience by making it more fluid, smooth and convenient. So why do you think it's a gimmick?
Thomas Vanhelden I just found it pointless and quite awkward to press, a lot of the times it saw it as a drag rather then a force and I feel like I'm damaging the phone each time I press hard on it, I don't know just never liked the ideology of it from the beginning. Also, when I was using it (I used my dads 6s for quite some time), I found that at first it was like "oh cool!" then I completely forgot about it and didn't really have the need for it. Only native apps supported it and every other app didn't utilize it (I'm sure devs will eventually though). Again, I didn't say it *IS* a gimmick, I'm sure other people like it but to me personally it made absolute no difference to me whether I had it on an iPhone or not, to *ME* its a gimmick but as I said to others like your self its a useful feature.
Mike S I can live with that but I do think you should give it another try. You say only native apps supported it but that's not the case anymore. All of the most popular apps now support it both on the home screen and inside the app (peek & pop). Even some Google apps support it now. It's a totally different experience since you've last used it. I do understand what you're saying though. How you feel about 3D touch is how I feel about the customization of Android. I didn't care if it was there or not, I completely forgot about it and didn't really have a need for it.
Mike S I'm quite excited about the prospect of 3d touch on games, would be nice to someday be able to play a more realistic racing games while using the 3d touch screen as the pedal with pressure sensitivity, like triggers on a console controller. But as of now, we're not there yet.
+15lumen I have the G3, so I may be able to help. If you scroll through your notification toggles, there should be an "edit" button all the way on the right. Clicking on it gives you the option of enabling and disabling the toggles, as well as the brightness and volume bars.
don't really need the 2nd screen of the V10 and its size. living without fingerprint scanner was fine before, it s not because most phones have it, that it is mandatory so I am ok with what the g4 has to offer.
I agree as well. The G4 is like LG's take on the Galaxy S6, while the V10 is like their version of the Note 5. You know the V10 has more features, but the average consumer shouldn't necessarily care about them. The added manual controls for video is awesome, but not a tool for the average consumer, the second display is a little bit of a gimmick and the added size is enough to put most people off. The fingerprint scanner, better sound output and more premium design is what I think most consumers will be looking at.
+rnagic The reason why tech companies are starting to implement the fingerprint scanner is due solely on capitalism (credit card usage) and instant gratification, where we don't want to waste seconds of typing a pin code or in G4's case the knock code. "Not in five seconds, ten seconds or twenty seconds, WE WANT IT NOW!"
+Ganning220 dude. the Knock code is still faster than most fingerprint scanners to date. and it's much more secure. especially when nobody knows about knock code
I've been using a G4 for about 2 months (mostly as my daily driver). absolutely love it! the camera is the best I've ever used, the feel in hand with its curves is great for people with smaller hands (such as me) it also keeps the camera from touch the surface when layed on its back. Black leather makes this device look as premium as anything else out there. Sure the software could be better, as with any device really. Lack of fingerprint scanner was a bit of a let down, but not enough for me to switch for a V10. While the V10 has the second screen, fingerprint scanner and an extra gig of ram, it still has the same camera, same SD808. Not really enough to invoke as a "must have". LG G4 is a solid device, and with Marshmallow on the way, I see it being a keeper, at least for a while longer.
after getting used to the double tap wake up and sleep on my G4, i dont think i would ever bother with a fingerprint scanner. i dont even use the button on the back at all. its not like i have state secrets that i need to hide
I've had the g4 for just over four months and I love it...I am one who doesn't need a fingerprint scanner...didn't need it back in the day..don't need it now ... I'm happy with on screen password!! the G4 is currently the best phone I've used and its a pleasure to own one...the camera is just phenomenal
i'm from the philippines and i bought this 2 days ago with a whopping 3 year warranty. expandable memory and removable battery, and dual sim slots got me sold on this g4.
Wonderfully Initiated & Nicely Concluded.. One of my favourate video of After The Buzz.. You Rightly Said, Apart From LG Skin Everything is Shining Bright For LG G4
Been using the G4 since launch, tried some other phones in between but have always come back to the G4 and still using it. Great phone. I kind of liked the G5 but still waiting for V20. You should wait till it actually launches, some shops do sell them by importing although might not have warranty.
LG should had continued with the design language of G4. Fine leather back option, gentle curved screen, dual SIM cards with external memory all at the same time. G5 is just not there. It looks like any other phones and the chin attachment breaks the smooth continuity. Bring the G4 lineage with the G6!
Have been rocking the G4 since spring this year and I must say I love this phone. No lag whatsoever, the phone works like a dream. I must admit that I'm not a huge fan of the default launcher by LG nor the keyboard, but thanks to Android I'm using Google Now Launcher and Google keyboard. The only thing I'm missing is Android 6.0 upgrade, otherwise nothing to complain.
I like LG's UI after its been modded in a custom rom especially since the stock rom is like potential that can be expanded in a custom rom (stock based)
+go minic LG UI is clean, people over-exaggerate a lot and 90% of the ones crying about it don't even own an LG G4 or they've owned something like the LG G2 3 years ago and compare it to today >_>
+Mike S Lol I still have the G2 and I love the UI on it. Hell, I don't even feel like upgrading to the G4 until next year or so, cause I bought my G2 last year. Yes, it's a 2013 model, but my unit was produced in 2014 so, not upgrading until late 2016. Maybe, I'll even buy the G5 when it comes out.
Love how this phone ages just like my favourite set of jeans.... Lg deserves credit for the design in a time when cold metal slabs are considered "premium"....
Hello everyone I bought a brand new LG G4 brown version, but after a month, it splits my screen, and the colors go crazy , is it a software or hardware problem..thanx
I own G4 and I'm really happy with it. I liked the software from the beginning. I use some of it's features every day. If you don't need a fingerptint sensor you will be really happy with this phone.
2 Questions: 1) Is it possible to put the menu button in the Android buttons, bottom row? I heard you can long press on the "Task switcher" button to get the menu button, but this doesn't work with all Android apps, and I'd like to have a dedicated button anyways 2) This phone come with a quick charge cable (where it goes from something like 10% battery life to 70% in an hour, as opposed to some straight up gain like 15% per hour)? At the very least, it can quick charge (even if we need to buy the cable separately?
I have to say I just watched this video tonight after getting an LG G4 today. I have been using a Nexus 5 since December of 2013 and I wanted a new phone but could not fathom the prices for the G5 of S7 phones. I found the G4 online for 290 dollars with shipping. If its not a perfect phone I am very happy with it for the price and if I get tired of it in a year, i'm sure I can pick up this years flagships, next year, at a reduced price as well. Sometimes it pays to wait. :)
I think this video was done too early. The G4 is still the flagship smartphone of LG. It was the one to recieve the marshmallow update first. I dont think LG made the V10 as a patched G4 replacement, but rather as a note 5/s5edge+ competitor, since it is much larger than the G4, has a secondary display and a completley different design. I got my G4 right after it launched and I still love it very much!
i'm looking for a good flagship phone with replaceable batteries and lg g4 seems pretty good but there's this notorious problem about bootloops. is there a fix for it or it just happened that your version never suffered from it?
If those were your negative points, then I'm more over the fence about the G4 than I was before. I don't care for a F-scanner and the battery life thing I can fight with (which I'm currently doing on my s4). Thank you for the work in putting out this video.
watching it on my g4.. pretty happy with it.. best thing about it has to b the camera.. no major complaints.. just I didn't like the icons n the OS much coming from HTC.. changed that n now its perfects.. can't believe been a couple of months now n this phone hasn't ever lagged or shut down applications, that was my biggest worry when was deciding to buy a LG.. overall very happy with it..
is the G4 ux.4 fluid and fun to use such as Touch wiz ? i don't know if i'm into to Lg's software layer ? tell me what u think of it honestly so that i decide if i'll get one or no :)
450€ for the G4 compared to 699€+ for the Nexus 6P, Galaxy S6, iPhone, V10 etc. combined with a expandable storage, great camera and leather back makes it a pretty good choice in my opinion. Let's hope LG will keep going this path with its G5.
Good review, I agree wholeheartedly! I love this phone, I installed my own launcher and keyboard first thing when I got it - just didn't like the LG stuff. I think you nailed it, LG killed this phone pretty quickly, and sadly at that. I have no regrets though, I don't make mobile payments and don't use wireless charging (battery swap warrior). Thanks for taking the time to do an After The Buzz video on this phone! :)
What's the weather widget you use? It can be seen around the 4:08 mark. BTW I'm also from Oradea and I haven't bumped into Anton yet. But I do feel a bit proud :D
I love my lg g4, never lagged even once, the UI was customizable yet simple, not so complicated like samsung. Not to mention the camera, specially the front cam, in video mode it acts like a go pro haha
I've had the G4 for about a week now and so far i'm extremely satisfied with the phone and mirror most of Jaime's impressions. I do not however agree with the V10 statement. In my opinion the V10 is in another category and does not replace the G4. Sure, the newer phone may have a fingerprint scanner, a secondary screen and a more durable build, but don't like the bigger display as the G4 is already stretching the limits of what is comfortable, the video tricks can come to the G4, i don't care for a fingerprint scanner and i prefer the more stylish look of the G4 as opposed to the more durable build of the V10.
What kind of micro SD card do you use? also can you do a video on your most used widgets/ apps considering you dont use a lot of LG's built in applications
I bought this device one month ago because it is very cheap in Europe compared to the new nexus. I am very satisfied with the screen quality, sd card and removable battery. Yes indeed I put the Google launcher and change the keyboard..
The thing is, the V10 does NOT offer anything substantial over the G4. The only reason I'd recommend the V10 over the G4 is if someone told me they simple have to have the fingerprint scanner and a phone that doubles as a dinner tray. Except no one asks for either of those.
I absolutely love, love LOVE my G4. I had HTC ONE M7 and HTC ONE MAX and this phone kills them. Lots of people don't like LG UI, but coming from HTC, it's a true joy to use. I love how quick and smooth it is, the camera kicks ass. But I too am disappointed that LG chose not to upgrade the G4 Video camera software. Instead, they abandoned the G4 and brought another $600 flagship to market with manual video controls. The G4 was expensive enough at $479. Not everyone has over a thousand dollars to drop on two phones in one year.
Got this phone recently from Black Friday. Really loving this phone, camera is awesome. upgraded from a Nexus 5. Not really worried about the fingerprint scanner, the scanner at the back doesnt make sense for me on LG V10 or Nexus 5x 6p etc..
Hi, Great idea! (after the buzz). Did LG ever follow up and fix the software problem? Did LG update to a newer Android OS? I'm looking for a truly excellent budget phone. Thanks.
I think your spot on although I'm not seeing any battery issues. Fortunately for LG we have 3rd party launchers! I've had mine for 6 months and and it's pretty neat. I travel alot and the replaceable battery is of use. The expandable memory card is this the primary source for those incredible pictures and always be comparing future phones to this device me think
Jaime, when you're in direct sunlight you have to use auto brightness. That will make the screen adjust for sunlight. I don't know why they did this. Maybe it's a battery saving feature.
actually this is the best phone I ever had until the screen started clutching and finally simply shut down totally I mis a. it and struggling w with getting another or going to s6. The lg camera is everything beyond what you could ever want outstanding
While I do feel sad that the G4 could have easily had the three main features the V10 offers (hi-res DAC, fingerprint scanner, and manual video), I still love my G4, and don't regret my purchase.
There is a GFE regarding the LG Optimus G within this video-- the versipn shown in the video is the ATT version that while it lacks an interchangable battery, is expandable in terms of storage. the Sprint version and most international versions, however, are non expandable for the most part.
this phone will present a fantastic value in time. around the time G5 arrives, i wouldn't be surprise if it goes as low as 300 dollars online. till then it will surely run marshmallow which could spark a new life in the battery department and make the user experience even better. will wait and observe the situation definitely
My G4 has been factory reset 4 times and it still lags and stutters and I don't know when android marshmellow will get released for my G4 considering i'm from Canada.....should have gotten a nexus.
I've got the G4 since August and I am in love with the camera in particualar. I have switched to mostly Google apps for the clock and cloud storage and these things, so software is not the original and that's good. For me, I don't like the design of the V10 so much nor do I feelthe need to have the features it packs, so I'm still very happy even if it's not the newest LG phone anymore
You can't buy the v10 everywhere, here in Australia for example it's pretty hard to come by. The LG G4 is reccomended by our largest carrier for its excellent rural reception which we have a lot of in Australia.
Telstra? I've got the G4 on Telstra and boy am I happy with it. Telstra is quick with updates too. The plan I'm on is dirt cheap, unlimited calls, unlimited text and 6gb of data for $95 a month when I was paying something similar for my plan with my Galaxy S4 with 1gb data, $600 worth of calls and unlimited text.
+Shaun Langenberg I'm using the LG g4 on Telstra as well on a BYO plan (bought the phone outright in June) and I love it. Great performance. Yes Telstra has reigned in its astronomical pricing, but international roaming is still a rip off.
jjcoolaus yeah, I heard about that. Just thought I would let you know that Marshmallow for the Telstra G4 is scheduling for a 28th of December release. Last release, the update came out before the launch date, so get pumped if you didn't know about this already haha
I was about to buy LG G4 but can someone tell me if someone does encounter a touch problem? cause im seeing someone having problems when tapping and having some problems with touches and encounter some "ghost touches" hope my question will be answered.
when i first use my new g4, the touch problem was actually real. but the problem is now solved after an update from lg about a month ago. and guess what, everything is so smooth since then. hope that helps :)
im still enjoying my g3 after more than a year of owning it,for me il be getting the g4 next, its great value for money,i don't want a fingerprint scanner
I agree with everything, except the fluctuating battery life. With Nova Launcher Prime and installing Google's apps to replace LG's, this phone has been an absolute dream. My battery life has been consistantly been giving me around 4h30 screen on time. The V10 is a better phone, but, it cost a lot more in certain markets.
