I still use my G6 and I had no software problems so far it still works smooth and every app is working. My fingerprint said Adieu couple of weeks ago and the jackpot is not working fine anymore therefore I switched to bluetooth headphones. Last summer i had to change the battery for the first time after 6 years because it caused heating and processing problems!!!! Unfortunately many secure apps nowadays demand 3DS security which means that they need at least a fingerprint next to PIN verification which forces me to make an upgrade to a new phone in 2024. Speaking of 7 years of usage of my beloved G6 it is time for him to serve as a secondary phone in future.
Still using my G6 in August 2024! Battery is absolute garbage but I'm usually near a charger so whatever. 7 years is the longest I've ever kept a phone. Hats off to LG for this G6😊
LG's official unlock service doesn't work anymore. So you can use devices which has been unlocked already. Or T-Mobile version (H872) it is unlockable now.
The Android 9 issue seems weird. I've been running Android 9 on my G6 since it came as part of a OTA software update without experiencing any problems and the performance seems fine. Really, the only issue I had with the phone is a pressure spot developing on the LCD that is visible on bright uniform backgrounds, but that might have been my fault. Everything else has been working fine and even the battery still holds for about 2 days after all those years.
I am watching this on my g6 from 2017 on Android 9. On one hand i really need a snappier phone but on the other and a modern phone camera. But mostly this does the job. I feel good enough using this and I am thinking of holding out for another year so that the pixel 8 comes down to 400usd. The phone has taken tumbles and drops (with a case of course) and I had the battery and headphone jack/usb c port replaced in this time and its still working (not like a charm). All the hardware parts still work great though - FP scanner, buttons, vibration motor, speakers etc. Its the day to day usage thats the problem. I can do everything but a little slow and sometimes there is a wait time. Ok google doesn't work or the response time is very slow. The phone kills apps because 75-80% of the 4gb ram is always in use. Opening and loading things can also be very slow at times.. Probably because of the old OS and softwares not being optimized for it. And damn I hate the camera. If you are not outside in good day light, it just sucks. Oh the colors are never right. Yeah maybe I should just get another phone now that I am writing all this 😂
Buy in Play Salon and still i have That LG😍 hmmm WHEN i run game GTA SA setting in full🤩🤯 pretty good working😊(today i have Realme but i come back in my LG sometimes and play games 😋😄) NOSTALGIA😉
V20 is the last king. Replaceable battery, IR remote control, google pay, second screen for shortcuts and notifications, audio chip, radio. The only problem is issue with screen, it has ghost image, not permanent, but its little bit annoying.
This is such an awesome phone. I missed mine so bad that I just ordered another one yesterday for... $48!!!! And I'm gonna use the HELL outta ol' #2. Oh yeah, I'm gonna call it "ol' #2", just in case you geeky bitches were wondering (like I give a rat's ass). I've got other "up to date" phones to use but the g6 warms my cold, black heart.
😂man I booted up my g6 and typing on it now. It's insanely slow but I rooted it and installed android 9 a while back. Can you make a video how to get it back on Android 7??
South Korean software just being the usual garbage it normally is 😂 Still the same as always. Intuitive features paired with poor design and an abismal level of optimization.
yeah, 2k IPS with HDR, still great in 2023. I wish someone could buy LG's mobile phone business. They had really great RND and brought a lot of new features into mobile phones.
How is battery after so many years? I want to buy a refurb G6 from china and I am afraid battery would have less than half of its capacity which isn't great even at full capacity. I have not found any cheap way to buy a non-refurb in my place (the poorest country in Europe)
Mine, after 6 years gets around 3-4 hours of screen on time, which is meh. You should consider other options like the LG v60 which has way better battery life.
@@Kevin4u2c Very sad, I am looking especially for IPS with good camera and unfortunately there is no much to chooses in range around 100-150 euro (ref or second hand, at least in my local area). IPHONE xr or 11 costa twice as much as ref lg g7 ans x4 of g6 price.
