I have this phone & love the camera options on it.I regularly use the camera for my work & it is perfect because the images come out looking awesome for the most part & its way lighter than using my actual camera.It is perfect for my line of work
The camera is good but in low light conditions if you zoom the photos the edges can get smudgy may be like water color... Wide angle lens can help you take some outstanding images
The LG 4 camera was much more user friendly and it had the video icon up front. Also it does not take as good pics in my opinion as the LG4 especially selfies mine are always blurry so dissapointed with this models camera. I would have never got rid of LG4 but it started pixelating after only 2 years.
I'm on the LG G5 and having problems and thinking about upgrading to G7 or G8, but seems they took so many things out of the camera that are unnecessary such as Google Lens, Food and AI. To make room for these, hey apparently took out Multi-View, the ability to switch from regular camera to wide angle while filming and as you said having the icons upfront without having to delve into another menu to make the changes. I like the LG G5 for this reason anytime I need to make changes it stays on the camera mode and I see the changes immediately without leaving the screen such as aspect ratio and mode. With these changes I might just get another LG G5 since it seems they have actually made it less user friendly and added more things of less use or maybe if I find another brand with these things and really love the LG G brand...or maybe I will see what did the LG G6 do...though I also love the fact that the LG G5 has a replaceable battery...hate they changed that also after the G5 - so easy to just pop in a new battery when needed! I always carry two extra with me and never have an issue with having to wait to recharge if necessary.
Very helpful thanks. Do you also have a video explaining the various screen color settings on the g7? I'm noticing that my g7 has too much blue in the color temperature which is really noticeable when looking at a white background. Not sure what the answer is for this. Thanks.
Great review. One thing missing is the settings for video. Is it possible to change bitrate, fsp etc. On my old LG G4 that I still use the build in app is crap for video, you can not change bitrate or fps. I had to get the app for the LG v10 and install that to access these options. I know third party apps works but it is still annoying that they seem to ignore important settings for camera and video, the apps that are in the phone when you buy it. Can you help me out :-)
The way i see it the app got worse. I used to have a v30+ and i could switch lenses while shooting video and also using the shutter button to drag and zoom in and out the transition when switching lenses is so slow compared to the v30 camera.
This phones camera is a piece of shit. Every picture I take of my cats is blurry. My old iPhone never had these issues. I should have just paid the extra $300 for the iPhone XS
Me too, had a Galaxy S7 previously. I would honestly swap back any day :( Too bad I broke my Samsung. The burst mode is awfully slow and takes only 30 pictures. Half of them are unfocused. With the S7 the whole picture was always focused. I use that a lot when photographing animals. Also both lenses are too wide, and when you zoom in the pic instantly becomes crappy. The camera sounds cant be turned off without a separate app for that. In overall the camera is just really slow. The portrait mode is awful as well, it focuses only when the object is one mile away from the camera, and you also cant zoom in in that mode. The AI is just useless.
#TheBestSmartPhone ... I own one and the audio quality is awsm , camera as well amazing .. If they increased a bit more battery capacity it might be the complete best phone ... But battery is a decent one which can handle 18 hours fair
