It's been 3 years now that I've been using LG G7 Thinq, Apart from battery life I can assure you that this is by far the best phone. Easily usable with one hand, The IPS screen is one of the best IPS that you can get, the Quad DAC by ESS is just amazing it can even derive LCD 2C / HIFIMAN sundara / BLON BL03 likes of headphones, The LG UI is clean and simple to use, over it's a solid 9/10 smartphone. Planning to finally upgrade my phone from G7 to something else in couple of months, Let's see.
@@hoober9001 For 100USD it's a steal! Go for it, Even right now, it's better than the modern day mid rangers. You will be getting proper IP rating, NFC, Wireless Charging, Full glass back and a Headphone jack with flagship DAC built in! The only thing which is lagging behind is the 60hz IPS screen but this is a good IPS. Go for it.
I bought this phone this year and i can say that it's still a decent phone. I can play games. Great camera. Great display. Battery life is surprising. you just need to adjust some settings and you can use it for more or less 6 hrs screen on time. But with gaming it can only last like 2hrs+ of straight gaming. Very usefull quadac earphone with sd card. Nice metal and glass body. Easy onehand use phone. The weight is amazing i love this kind ok compact phone. Feels premium. Over all I'm surprise with device capability it's really value for money right now. I bought this for only 4700 pesos. It's better than budget or lower midrange phone releasing right now. Btw The most special thing about this phone is you can set you screen resolution upto 720p 1080p 1440p. That's why you can really save battery with 720p resolution.
You do some really great "hand acting" The way you move your fingers and open your hand to expose your palm...genius. !! Youre index finger steals the show really... it seems to get the most work, never tires and always looks good. Your left-hand does a great job holding the phone..your fingers never overpower the subject yet hold their own in every scene..Your swiping and double tapping are excellent !! Cudos for another great "hand-acting" job..!!
Haha! Thanks James for your whimsical comment. Until I read it I was focused on the content of the video, but your pointing out the hand acting brought it to my attention and gave me a good laugh. The graceful hand expressions do add a lot!
lmao this is supposed to be quite flattering for him but I felt embarrassed throughout this whole comment when I was reading it 😂😅 I hope he liked it tho 😂 #CringeyBits
6% went down in 20 minutes with full brightness but with airplane mode. that's actually good, for all the things you made, i'm really leaning to buy this phone, i'm really ready to leave my samsung S7 in the past.
Some people on this forum are ready to surrender S7 for G7. Of course they would, because G7 competes with S9, not S7. I have S8 from work and purchased G7 for myself. So I could compare both side by side. They both have 3000 mAh battery. When in the idle mode, the battery loose energy with equal speed of about 30% a day on both phones. However, they might silently spend energy on downloading the security software updates. When at operation, I got first impression that Galaxy S8 is spending battery slower than LG G7, but I have to do more accurate test to confirm. If my impression is correct it should not be a surprise because S8 is of 5.8" size while G7 is of 6.1" size screen. Also S8 has AMOLED screen which consumes less energy than LCD screen of LG G7. G7 screen is about 1/4" (6mm) longer and about 1 mm wider than S8. I prefer flat G7 display over S8 one with a curved edges. In addition, flat screen is better protected by the protection case since it is below the protection screen edge, while the curved screen of S8 is almost flash with the protection screen long edges. Sound good on both phones. Speed of charging is the same.
I appreciate that you go into a lot of detail and visual aids, most reviews just do the basics and make it seem like there isn't actually that much to the phone. You've done the basics but actually showed more to the phone (in depth is what I'm looking for). What you did miss though was that the notch/ black bar only works for like the home screen, if you go into like Maps, it disappears but I mean it isn't really that much of a problem. What I would've liked to see was showing what the screen is like outside since that was one of the major points to it. (also, you hands look super soft......)
I was considering getting the Nokia 8 next year, but I found out that after a year, a lot of users experienced different kinds of problems such as screen burn-in (Which is really weird for IPS panels), random restarts, and sound cracking. Too many problems! So I've taken a look at LG's offerings and boi was it a banger. G7 packs a lot of features. The 4 things that got me interested in the phone are the cameras, the boombox speaker + Quad DAC, wireless charging, and SD845. I'm gonna replace my former Nokia 6 because, it's getting old, It's laggier than before, has the worst SoC and it feels like lava in your hands with no case. But the upside is, it is built well, has stereo speakers and bright display. And transitioning from stereo to mono is not good for me but quad Dac, ill take it.
LG g7 has something going here. Compared to last years version washed/old version with g6. Now i wonder about next years lg g8 or lg g8 thinq. LG better not take off any features that I personally like on g7 with things like boombox speaker and super bright mode and ai cam. I currently have a g6. Next month marks a year with g6. Its old news in terms of software but it'll do. I honestly like g7 but I'm already thinking to next years lg phone.
Matthew Henderson i would recommend a G7 as i have one at the moment. It is fast reliable and knowing LG...itll drop price in a couple months. Using this phone id stongly recommend even after heavy usage with LTE and streaming etc i still can go all day with enough charge because of good optimization from LG
@@saieelprabhu display is amazing...deep colours and dark blacks even for an LCD display...also extremely bright and easily used outside...i use the superbright mode alot outside and it really helps even when its bright enough...
ALTHEA FRANKLIN would definitely recommend. I have one right now and ive never looked back...LG gets so much hate but it does everything new and plus more at a reasonable price
@@carlosdeleon7755 battery life really depends on the user. Ive had mine for 3 months also and can safely say for my standard use it is perfect. When idle the battery is amazing...when in use the battery is amazing due to low bloatware and good optimization. Would definitely recommend. Coming from a high performance user
@@carlosdeleon7755 have tried both fortnite and mario run. Runs smoothly and battery drain isnt high. That is because it allows you to lower the res on the phone for better performance I.e. i play with 1080p instead of quadHD
great tips on G7... coming from a galaxy note 3, I am totally blown away by all the new features out there now. The G7 is bit pricey in my opinion, maybe im wrong? but, Tmobile offered buy one second free so went for it. so far, best phone ive ever owned. anyone else agree this phone is awesome?
I got a brand new g7 couple of days back for just around $325(i.e. 23500 INR) and this is totally amazing.... I loved it... Its the most underrated flagship of 2018.
Well besides the cleaner skin the OP6 has OLED vs LG G7's LCD (although LG's new LCD is really good) and it also has the ram and price advantage. G7 has the camera advantage, wireless charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, and lastly a better overall audio experience with the boombox speakers and 32 bit quad dac. I hope that covers it.
He was asking about "anything else OS6 that better than G7 except cleaner android skin?" And got replied with more "goodies about G7", more ironic is another replied think that is "good response" Lmao. People are dumb
watching on my LG v30... not wanting to wait for LG v35 and don't think it's worth it so I think I'm gonna upgrade! (my v30 is mildly broken but still love it)
I recently bought the g7 (T-Mobile platform) and love it, except for the fact that the black lettering on white background doesn't seem to contrast well. Sometimes the white background seems to have a bit of glare and I have to "tilt" the phone to read the letters clearly. I noticed on my old s5 phone that the "white" background was actually bit of a tint grey. What is the best way to tweak this to give me more contrast in reading emails, google now etc.? I turned on the "comfort view" and tried to adjust the blue light filter level but that didn't exactly solve the problem. Should I try to make some adjustments in the "color settings" ie. cooler vs warmer? or should I try some different themes? What would be the most direct and simplest solution? Thanks, Allen S
I just got the LG G7 today. Could you do a simple video on the LG G7 explaining some of the basic settings and most common used features of the phone and how to use them? Thanks, John
Marvellous Ogunseye you can choose under phone settings to change notch settings were it won't hide anything and it'll just show time and notifications. That's the setting I keep it on and it doesn't hide anything. Videos doesn't show on notch on that setting ether. Honestly it makes me love the notch with that setting cause it moves time and notifications out of the way.
Just got one ..screen is amazing sound is rich and full but still not stereo speakers ..the dts makes a difference but not like beats and have to have head9 in or via bt ...charges pretty quickly i just leave it in power save mode works just fine ... Found an otter box case on Amazon only 3 places had one that isn't purple lol this phone weighs like nothing feals like a toy almost

How do you make it auto answer on bluetooth???? The recording microphone isnt great...the camera isnt great unless it's upclose before you shoot..but I can't find the auto answer. Where is this?
Tim Awesome review enjoyed and nice to see what LG is up to.I see they definitely added so many more settings and things for you to go into and play with.I held so many of their devices in the past and like that still headphone Jack and really appreciate the in-depth review.Sorry about the hearing I have many friends that have had the same from being in bands and I don't have issues but much more sensitive from going to see live.Especially if you are into Music that way and up front or hanging with them when creating.Loved the review. Both you and Kellen do Awesome coverage on all the New devices out really appreciate it Deb 👌👍
First I cant choose which phone I should buy g7 or pixel 2xl but after watching this video I'll go for g7,because I think that it (g7)doesn't have screen resolution nd always on display setting. But it has both and I like the LCD displays of LG better than the AMOLED of samsung. Waiting for launch.........
too bad he did not know how to use the screen brightness boost on the LG. It is awesome!! The speaker system camera with the wide angle and the screen boost make the LG a big winner!!!! To each his own, but i love the LG G7 best phone I have ever owned and I have had several Samsungs and iphones.
Can you please tell me why some of these phones get earbuds or headphones in the box and some don't? I understand the 6 gig model does ,,, my is an Australian model or International model with the same Category number as the 6 gig I'm still waiting mine. Unfortunately they don't tell you what's in the box. Mine will be a 4 gig ram
I love this phone but noticed i dont have some of the icons ...for instance in the extension setting there's nothig for turning off the Wi-Fi when I'm at home?..p.s. What is this notch thingy everyone is so worked up over?
I really wanted to buy/to love the HTC U12+ (or HTC U11+) but I'm tempted to get this - with the 3.5mm jack, less of a finger print magnet and few other pros over HTC's new phones
@@body-ye2lt yeah but the G7 is still new and I usually wind up buying older phones but at least the boot loop issues is fixed I had the V10 and it died if it hadn't I'd still have that phone
What is the music player like on it? I used to have the LG G3 - it looked awful (a bright orange or some weird colour) but it had some cool pitch/speed settings which was good to play around with.
Hi thanks for the video.. Can you please tell me whether this phone have the option of unlock with face recognition without pressing the power button just like LG v30?
Pls help understand this phone : 1) it runs on Google - I don't like Google handling all my calls, calendars, contacts, etc. (we know how they violate our privacy) - is there a way that my data (contacts, SMS, photos, calendars, etc) be through the phone, instead of Google? 2) why am I seeing 2 choices of "contacts" when I'm creating it? 3) what are the disadvantages/advantages of LG Smartworld? Thanks for your knowledge.
two questions that could be a deal breaker for me. 1. can u connect to two bluetooth headphones and listen to them simultaneously like samsung? 2. can u pull down the notification tray by swiping down the fingerprint scanner? thanks
Well, when you expand the video to full screen mode, the video won't expand across the notch on G7 ThinQ. Meanwhile on iPhone X, you'll see the huge notch in full screen mode.
i just call it the "g7" simple as that... idk who LG is working with that decided it would be good idea to call it "thinq" what would have been even worse is if they dropped the g7 and it was literally called thinq that would just be ridiculous.
@@kathyvangundy3015 really nice, never felt like i shouldve gone for the S8. Battery life is also really good and can easily last you a day, even 2 on low use
Would be better if you have the phone on the table and use ur right hand to interact with the phone. Harder to see in detail what u are pressing on the phone because its always moving :)
@Droid Life in Nova Launcher the notch remains same in home screen even after removing it... in settings it removes... but in home screen the notch remains as it is.... Any solution ?
@@AngelVazquez-xh1dh No... You can use Second Screen option in LG apps only... Hence Nova will show the Notch... Even in Android 10 update its still there...
I got the phone got to say great but the Google button is annoying as anything like I put it on my car phone holder and keeps activating so I diff got to turn it off
Everyone complaining about the iPhone X and how the notch looked ugly, congratulations all android users now have a notch. It does nothing but it’s there to make sure you can show your friends. Have fun and enjoy, 2018 is the year of the notch life
@@anthonyj810 removing the notch just proves how retarded of an idea it was. Also its an ips display STOP DELLUDING YOURSELVES, YOU ARE NOT HIDING SHIT.
Add a fingerprint? Thanks! I totally didn't know that, I totally just ignore the first set up instrucctions when they tell you to add your fingerprint... Man, I was hopping for at least one useful tip. I guess this video is made for other kind of people
What you really want to do with every phone that has a finger print sensor is, you want to put atleast 3 fingerprints saved for each finger, so it unlocks without problem 100% of the time
I was using Facebook messenger and my text message at the same time. and somehow my text message is now all white just like if it were the Facebook messenger. how to I get my messages back to the original color scheme
