LG Home Theater Review.
In this review I was talking about the LG BH9530TW UK model or LG BH9431PW in the USA.
The LG Home Theatre features a 3D Blu-Ray player with 4k HD up-scaling. It has LG Smart TV features through your internet connection using the RJ45 port or through wifi.
You can play your music through the surround sound by connecting your device with the Bluetooth option.
You can stream video from your pc direct to the LG Home Theatre or from an Android phone or tablet using Miracast.
From the front USB port you can connect your hard disc drive and play Divx, Xvid, Mkv and many more.
The rear USB is low powered and is good for connecting a memory stick or what I did was connect my wireless mouse to navigate the menus and web, a lot easier than using the remote. LG have an app for your smart phone to use it as your remote if you want to give that a try.
The LG Home Theatre is LG´s 9.1 Cinema Surround Sound system with 1440 watts of power to fill the room with true 3D Surround Sound.
High build quality with high gloss finish, this system will turn any room in your home into your own home cinema.
The LG BH9530TW and the LG BH9431PW both have wireless rear speakers powered by their own amplifier.

This unit supports DTS-HD Master Audio, this means it can up-scale to any number of channels, In this case 9.1. Up-scaling does not make it a cross board supported format it is an internal function of the unit

This was my first video unscripted (that was a mistake) with some errors. It is a 7.1 DTS-HD system and the rear speaker power is Wireless Rear L/R 180W x2 Wireless Surround Top(L/R) 90W x2 Hope this has cleared some things up Thanks

Hi madO Oinsane. No problems with it freezing, had a strange thing happen when I had a DVD disc in the system but was playing something from the hard drive. The remote seemed slow to responde. But there was another update and since then its been ok.

Thanks for the explanation!. I just found an auction in my town for this home teather. I know it's kind of years old tech but it's still useful!. Plus i probably could use to connect my music thru bluetooth with this, and that's a win!.

Thanks for this review! Exactly what I needed. Surprised that there aren't that many. I think I'm going to get this because Samsung won't be bringing in the HTH7750W. Do you have any thoughts on that unit compared to this? Also, have you been able to find the code to make this LG player region free?

no not had it region free as is is more difficult with blueray, not the same as dvd. Also with the updates to software and firmware I thought it safer not to. You could always rip your discs to usb or hddrive and play through usb port.

question please : i just tried to play furious 7 DTS, but when i press info it only show me 2.1 instead of 5.1.... need a help here, note the copy is 5.1 im sure, as my friend tested it on his Samsun sound system and it was 5.1....

Shadi Shabouk Please check again to see if it says 3/2.1 as 5.1 is often displayed in this way.

Does the surround really work in action blu rays, e.g does it really make you turn around when helicopters pass by or when someone knocks a door, and would it still be suitable for a small room with alot of furniture, also hows the bass, and is there any auto calibrations for each speaker? Thanks

Hey joe good review u helped me lot....& i m looking forward to buy it... but...one question does it plays 7.1 tracks???... i mean i know its dts hd MA & dolby THD can i get same quality of a 7.1 in this "9.1" system, bcoz the other option for me is onkyo's 7.1 but here in india its very expensive and no proper service centers...if this system can delivers me 7.1 at decent quality then it is better than onkyo expensive one

when you play music or video, select audio from the remote and all the options that are available in the media are shown, 7.1 can be selected. often it is displayed as 5/2.1 I am happy with the quality but i am not familiar with the Onkey. Hope this helps

I thought of doing it on the original video but I recorded it on my mobile, you wont get a good enough sound quality to really hear the full effect. I suggest downloading a video of youtube 7.1 sound test, 9.1 sound test or dts-hd sound test and put it on a usb stick and goto a local showroom that has 1 setup and get them to play them for you. The only thing this one doesnt have is an auto sound setup. i.e. normally you can plug in a mic place it in the center seating position and run a test audio where it calibrates the distance and volume. This is all manual but easy to do. In a showroom it should be set up correctly.

I have the same system I feel the sub woofer is not adequate I'm looking for a system with more thump in the base. it's ok for low budget but that's about it in my opinion.

+R Reichel set the sound of the subwoofer to 6 and the rest of the speakers like 3 or 2 in the setting maybe that will do for you

Yes I still have it and use it every day. The size approx of the sub woofer is 10 inches wide 13 inches high and 11.5 inches deep

Hi was thinking of getting the same one but instead of it being bh9530 it’s the bh9540 , do you know the difference an witch one came out first , I’ve seen out for £250 would you say that’s a good price as to how old it is now ?

The 9540 is a later model, the stand is in a silver finish instead of the black. It is the same spec but will have later software. Both are now discontinued by LG so support will be very little. The price sounds good for the model. If you are playing Blu-ray discs no problem, if you are going to run from usb device divx or avi files you may find that some of the latest file types are not supported.

+Saba Moh, no it doesn't. At the moment LG do not have any home theatre system with NFC but it is coming on their other products so maybe soon on the next generation of home theatre products.

Hi Joe,I just bought the LG BH9530TW a few months ago,I got it for 1/2 price as what it was selling for retail,,now I know why,it's not a multi region dvd player! I should have checked but I didn't,I'm region 4,Is there anyway to make it a multi region player? I've looked for a hacking code but there doesn't seem to be one for this model,the seller said it was new,and it looks new but on the LG web site it says it's a discontinued model already,also if I can't change it could I swap the dvd player for a multi region one and use the same speakers?....thanks.

Most of the feature and a few new ones are available on the LG LHB625 but it is a 5.1 sound system. It is available in a few places in Europe and I have seen it in India but it does not seem to be in many of the big brand shops.

on a newer android there is an option called smart view, on older android models in settings, display, there will be an option to turn on wireless display. For Iphone or Ipad you will use something like AirPlay.

The home theatre has an option for cabled internet or wifi. In the setup options select wifi and you will see a list of wifi devices detected. Select yours and enter the password for your router.
