I was surprised to see that even the police officer was also honest (which generally is not in India) and took efforts to return back the money to its owner.
Some cops would have accused the kid of stealing the cash, slapped him a bit, called in his family, would have taken 25,000 bribe from them and kept the original money also.
There are theifs in every profession.... Even in army navy ariforce do you know how much corruption is there..... Just becoz a few are corrupt it doesnt mean the entire force is useless
People trolling about stationary: Its a big reward being invited to LG office and getting a video featuring him . Imagine his position in society now and among his school mates . 25k can be spent and forgotten .These moments are priceless and memorable to everyone. This is how an honest person is born for society . As Warren buffet said "Honesty is very expensive , don't expect it from cheap people! "

I got a lot of stationary for being Meritorious in Sports..!!! The Only Brings Cup in had received in VII std for Sports and Studies was from SANEMS, received it in Lions Club on August 15th, Independence Day, destroyed it and few pictures with temper mood on something else later in teen age, lost my Only Memorable Cup in life.. loll.. The lot of Stationary gifts from an earlier School JMEJ too doesn't exist now, Soap Boxes, Pencil sets, Geometry boxes, used n were gone, lolll.. Had changed 3 more Schools later 1 year in each school till class Xth in Stella Mary's, Hyd.. Karma as it's said..!!!

To all those saying she should have given something else, well let me share a story, I won a Mathematica competition back in class 8th and i was awarded with some cash prize and a book called 'Personality Development' By Swami Vivekananda which barely cost 12 rs. I remember nothing about the money, but the book changed my whole life. I'm still greatful for that gift. She's a former IPS, she knows the value of knowledge.
It seems a very timid thing but believe me by rewarding and appreciating this child she ensured that this child will remain such way for his entire life, it will go deep within him the notion that honesty equals to respect and rewards

I once found galaxy note 9 which was 65k phone then, in Noida, next morning I went to Noida police station, gautam Budh nagar and handed over them the phone, they gave me in written that they received the phone. I was never rewarded like this. 😂

Nabhonil, honesty is in itself rewarding and does not need to be rewarded. Actually what this boy did is a normal thing each of us should be doing. Hers was a kind gesture. Rewards and gifts need not to be expensive, but precious.

And one last thing don't compare morality and good deeds with monetary gains otherwise everyone who will help others will only do for money . There are thousands of ways to help others returning others their belongings is one of them .

Honesty in itself is rewarding. The gesture shown by this young boy should be actually a normal thing. KB did a good job by taking cognizance and appreciating the little man. Gifts and rewards need not to be expensive but precious. The police inspector did his job for what he is paid. All the people in the video did their job well. That is how a nation is made great.
