This is one of the most, if not the absolute most, abysmal air conditioners I've ever operated--the LG LW6017R 6,000 BTU "room air conditioner". I've never liked LG appliances, this one is no exception.
This is, like most appliances today, electronically controlled. Electronic controls are not my preference, but there are cases where they're at least designed well and provide a decent user experience. This control set is awful. Too many buttons, too many indicators, and too much delay! Several seconds pass before the machine executes the command entered.
The unit is loud. The controls are loud, the fan is loud, the compressor is loud, it's all too loud! What an awful impeller design for this application. Had they used a conventional squirrel-cage blower wheel, it would have been half as loud.
The unit is constructed almost entirely of plastic and Styrofoam, with nothing between the outside and inside besides one thin piece of foam. It's so thin you can see light through it.
R32 refrigerant? No thanks. What an awful refrigerant.
The unit ran and cooled (eventually), but it did so very poorly. This is a completely unsatisfactory air conditioner and likely won't last more than 1 or 2 seasons before something fails, most likely the coils.
