Brilliant projector review mate, especially considering it's your first. I'd like so many other reviewers to see how it's done. You succinctly cover almost everything from the unboxing, set up....you show so many scenarios which is the only way to get a real idea of the brightness via YT...just great.
Nice video, I have the PH300 and also got of the PW800 this looks like a happy middle ground. This model of course has the BT output that both mine don't have... now you got me thinking of an upgrade :)
nice done, love the lg projectors, got the lg pf1500 in my dedicate media room, still want the pf1000u, but cant wait to see what they do when they touch the 4k line

Hey Paul how was the trip? Must be fun wasn't it? As you said, yea the speaker is just 'OK' but could be improved. So I invested a JBL flip 3 bluetooth speaker, and it ways much much better! Now I feel like I am in the cinema when watching movies lol. Great experience!
Wow that would be just too amazing using it to play video games! I bought another JBL device, the Charge 3, and I pair up with the Flip 3 to make them real home theatre... Couldn't be better and it almost blow my roof up to the sky!
Hi ! Nice review ! I've been checking the manual of this projector and it's saying it support Side by Side 3D files, can you confirm that ? Is it possible to use a SBS video and view in 3D or is it like all models where only 1024x768x120 hz was supported ? Can you please confirm this ? I'm looking for a 3D projector with 3D SBS support and this one looks very nice.
Nice review! Can you maybe tell me the refresh rates available? I'd like to get this but can't stand 3:2 pulldown, so I'd like to know if it can do 24/48 Hz natively. Also, how is the judder? Thanks :)
Hi, I've just looked at the lg website and can't easily find the refresh rate, but the aspect ratios are "16:9/Just Scan/Set by Pro/ 4:3/Zoom/Cinema Zoom/Full", which I've just cut from the lg site and pasted here, not sure if that helps.
+Charles Kuhn I've looked in the downloadable manual but can't find anything. I guess your referring to the film look ? With those frame rates. That is sadly all beyond my pay grade!
It was shot with my Nikon d750, frame rate 24fps using a safe speed of 1/50 as I am in Europe where the electricity is at 50 hertz. It was edited with fcpx and I didn't notice any judder as I had selected the frame rate to match the rate at which I filmed it with the Nikon. For a little projector it's great for what I will be using it for. 👍
Edmund Quon hi. All I can say is that all of my passport type external hard drives have worked fine with it, so there, as far as I can see, should not be reason why your hard drive would not work. You may possibly have to check if there are any formatting issues ?

James Lovell hi James, yup no mention as not something I'm concerned with ....but one projector review website states " 3D video delivers essentially the same quality as 2D for those aspects of quality that both share. The projector also does well on quality issues specific to 3D, with no crosstalk in my tests and only moderate levels of 3D-related motion artifacts in scenes that tend to cause the problem. There's only one 3D color preset" ..... Hope this helps . Regards
LG PH550 stops receiving image from Wifi after 1 hour of use!! Let me explain again, you connect your laptop or other device with the LG PH550 and after exactly 1 hour the LG PH550 will freeze the image and audio. The only work around is to disconnect the device and reconnect again. This problem was noticed in three different units (the third unit was tested directly in the store where I bought the device). Did you experience this behaviour?
Carlos Correia hi Carlos. Strange as my unit has streamed wifi for many hours without a problem watching Netflix etc . Try contacting customer support at lg directly . Paul W
Thanks for your feedback. I bought this in Portugal, it could have a different firmware. Today i saw a fourth unit showing the same behaviour (i kindly asked a store to test it for me before buying). I already reported to LG Portugal.

Hello! I'm thinking about buying this projector, but even after looking for reviews and infos over the internet, I still have one doubt and I hope someone vould help me. It happens that I have a shelf installed on my room and I want to place the projector on this shelf, and it is at a distance of 3 meters from the wall/screen. Do anybody knows what would be, aprox., the size of the projection? I fear that in this distance, the secreen would be too large for the 550 lumens. Thank you everyone!
