I bought one of these very lightly used for 75$ from a grandma at a garage sale, she used it for a couple weeks while her central air was getting repaired. This thing will FREEZE you out a lot of the time if you don't set the temp just right. It is a beast. I do agree with some other people, it is loud. To be fair, it equates to how powerful it is. It doesn't have a full automatic mode. It does turn off the compressor when you reach a specific temp. It does not adjust the fan speed/turn off at all so it'll run till you turn it off. You just have to see how it works in your house, figure out how to fine tune the temperature/fan speed settings to your liking. In my 10x15 foot room, i can set it at 71 on a 100° day and feel great. Its been reliable and solid. I have never had any condensation come out of mine. I've checked twice, its always empty in my case. For me, i love it.

I have this unit for my living room and work area, I actually get cold, it works very well, 3rd summer. Batteries still working. Make sure your seal around window is good. Keep filters clean and clean the accordion vent hose easily in the shower, dry completely. DO NOT USE FOR 3 TO 4 HOURS IF YOU PLACE ON SIDE. I only use the A/C or Fan, I do not use the Dehumidifier due to Ij ust don't feel like hooking up that line. Its a little louder than in the video. I personally would not have it that close to the bed, thats alot of noise and you can get sick from having Cold constantly blowing on face, I ended up with a throat infection 😮. I would definitely buy this a/c again. Hope this helps.😊

Hi do you know how to set it to stop all together when the set temp is reached? because currently it just changes to fan mode when the temp is reached, i like it to stop completely and come back on when the room temp gets hotter again. please let me know if that's possible.

Okay idk what version I have but it has that vent and my room is a medium size room and when I turn it on it doesn't get cold even if it's on for about 20 mins so what's the solution and got it as a gift idk the manual on how to use it

it is the loudest air conditioner/fan/dehumidifier in the world.. no auto off or fan mode when desired temp is reached, cant hear the tv..and the drain pan is so low..about 1.5 inches off the floor, i have a jumbo towel on a cookie sheet i have to check every day cuz the plug leaks.. i regret ever buying the thing. idk how he got his volume turned so low to record that machine..dont buy it unless u have a floor drain and old batteries in your hearing aids, if its on all night i cant sleep and wind up turning on my elec blanket..and its LOUD!!

What BTU rating is your A/C and what size room are you trying to cool with it? It sounds like you have the worng size unit for the size room because the whole point of the thermostat on an A/C unit is so that once the desired temperature is reached the compressor shuts off and the unit stops cooling until it's needed again

I have it also and yes it is very very loud . I have to turn the tv up really loud when I’m running this thing… it also struggles to cool a 10x12 room which it should be able to handle with ease

If you can have a window unit use one these things are not worth it unless you don't have a window you can use a regular air unit I switched to portable and then went right back to window units I still have two brand new portable units I never used

Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! ru-vid.comUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install.This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

You should be able to find the materials cheap at Home Depot. Ordering them from LG themselves will probably be expensive.

we bought a similar lg ac unit like this quit working after about 6 months so called lg about warranty and they sent out a ac man to look at it , the ac man confessed to never have worked on a stand up ac unit and left 🤔Unbelievable ! called lg back and they sent a second guy - no doubt they are searching the yellow pages but this guy actually worked on this type ac unit and didn't take long and he found the problem and called lg to get authority to fix the unit but lg customer No Service told him NO ! Me What 🤔about the warranty lg ? pretty much tough $hit and i can't remember how much the repair guy said it would cost to fix but again it was under warranty . i ended up throwing the POS in the trash and wouldn't buy any lg product in fact i wouldn't take one if given to me , my wife jokes if were looking at appliances and she touches a lg she will go UGH lg and wipe her hand .

I can’t get mine to stop leaking everywhere… I’ve attached a continuous drain hose and still it fills with water faster than it can empty and blows water from the vents at the top every 30 minutes to an hour of running… I’ve had it for 2 years and it’s been nearly unusable the entire time! It’s maddening.. I even drilled a 1” hole through my wall to the outside of my house just to continuously drain the unit and it’s still crap

This AC does not release heat. 🤦🏼‍♀️ it’s only a AC, a fan and a humidifier. That’s it.

We have had one for a couple years, and it is starting to give ambient temp air sometimes too. And the compressor will come on randomly (I can tell because it causes the lights to dim). But it didn’t use to do that.

You are way better off buying a simple window AC... If you're disabled and just can't lift a window AC in to place, these may be 'okay'/your only option. Hire someone to install a real window AC, even better is to buy a Mini-Split.

Every wants to know, and I guess it was just too damn much to just say in the video... Price is 329 dollars for "up to the 200sqft" model... And 679 for " up to 450sqft"... More expensive, and less efficient than a window unit of the same BTUs...

It is a piece of crap. Nothing beats a good windows a/c unit. I hate these self serving SPAM tubes. And, of course, many of the positive comments are bought and paid for by LG.

I had one of these it worked good. Unfortunately, it took air that it just cooled and sends outside. It requires you have an air supply from the outside to make up for the air it just sent outside. A better system is a window mount unit. It does not send air to the outside. It cools the inside air. And it uses outside air to remove the heat from the inside air and keeps that air outside.
