I’m just seeing this now because this sound bar is on sale, but I had to comment on how value this video was for me. You speak super clear, are articulate, helpful, and even pushed me towards deciding to buy. Thank you!
This soundbar is awesone. Movies and video games are so immersive with this bar. The rear speakers actually kick loudly when the settings are accurate. I will probably get flamed for this but I think the sound quality is just as good as the SN9YG.
still happy with it? i just bought it and it will arrive today! i got the rear speakers too. I have a kitchen behind my living room and the rears will be on top of the cabinets about 28 ft away from the soundbar, hope distance isn't too far.
@@Optionvideo209 thrilled with it. The SNC75 is what I got (same as sn8yg) and the SPK8-S wireless rears. Total it cost me around $400 for the 5.1.2. DUplicating this w/ Sonos or Bose would have cost me 5x as much for marginally better audio. Effortless connection w/ my android and my wifes iphone so we can stream Pandora/spotify through it. Probably doesnt hurt I have it also paired to an LG OLED tv. Buy it, you wont be disappointed.
This HDMI connection part is incorrect as this set up will give you significant sound delay when selecting Dolby Atmos on your Xbox Series X. The Soundbar supports HDMI 2.1 so you actually want to route your Xbox into the input HDMI of the Soundbar and then route the eArc HDMI output of the Soundbar into the eArc input of the TV (only one HDMI going into the TV). This will allow the audio and video of the Xbox to sync together while using Dolby Atmos.
Why would you use anything but headphones though. Dolby atmos is OK for movies. Not gaming. Headphones are for gaming. Atmos is just another buzz word just like dolby digital when I was a kid. Then dolby 123. Whatever they want to call their new fandango thing. My phone has dolby atmos and its nothing special. My TV has dolby atmos built in and it sounds brilliant truly brilliant but it does not sound anything like surround sound. LG sk8000 plb. The best sounding TV I've seen for years loud deep and bass e. But not surround. I had a cheap dvd surround sound system connected to my TV years and years and years ago CRT TV old. That was surround sound and it sounded amazing. If there was a train on the TV sounding off it sounded like a real train was in the room over there then over there then behind me. Even better than the cinema since it was small room me in the middle of the speakers. Dolby atmos could never do that.
@@TrollingHistory atmos is absolutely not a buzzword. If set up correctly, it improves surround sound incredibly. Your phone supports dolby atmos as in it can read dolby atmos audio but that doesn’t mean it’s speakers can recreate atmos sound enough for you to hear it. Connect your phone to atmos capable home theater speakers and you have true atmos audio
If you're watching this now. The SNC75 (identical unit but rebadged for Costco) is only $219 brand new on Amazon and the rears can be had for like $110 (LG SPK8) giving you a 5.1.2 setup with earc, atmos, and 580w, ai room calibrate for under $350. Ridiculous bargain
I just bought This sound bar today and wall mounted it. It does NOT face forward like you said. It’s mounted and secured to the brackets in the same position as if it was just sitting on a tv stand. Please correct that info for any potential buyers who may see this review.
@@marcel793 mounting it doesn’t change the sound as long as it’s mounted correctly ie; speakers facing up. There is a “cut out sheet” that come with the soundbar so you know exactly where to place it as not to have the sound bounce off the bottom of the tv. It has to be low enough for “sound clearance”. For what it’s worth after a couple of months of using it… it’s good but I don’t have the rear speakers, just the bar and the sub. As a result the var is handling both the highs and mids and voice quality (on any setting) remains a bit muffled. If you can get the rear speakers I would definitely recommend you do. It’s a good system but for $800 we can prob do better. Hope this helps.
I have the LG OLED C@ tv with the Apple 4K stream box. Will this work fine with the apple remote? given I use the ARC hdmi spot? Great breakdown in the video. Thank you!
Ha. Really. India is about as smart as an American with dementia. The Indian navy are so smart they sank their own submarine in port trying to dive without closing the hatch. So smart they let children eat trash. Now think of any dump anywhere in the world. You know trash mountains all the waste in one spot. See all the rats and birds living off it? Yeah not in India. In India the kids chase the vermin out that's their food. The birds and the rats don't dare steal the peoples trash food or they will go in the pot too. Indians call this food. PaqPaq and they will sell it to you on the streets if you are a tourist too. So look out.
@@q4pradeep actually it is supposed to change direction, it instead will use the hight channels as front any the now down facing speakers to bounce sound twice and “height” so once the ground then the ceiling. edit: i should add it has a gyroscope sensor inside that will know it’s orientation and change the output type on its own.
For those that don’t know. Hook up console to tv then connect HDMI from your TVs arc/E-Arc to soundbar for best results, if you Bluetooth or optical digital your really losing a lot of features and audio quality. Also play with sound settings in app and tv to also get some better customization and features.
@@TrollingHistory Headsets are nice when playing with friends or competitive gaming but they are annoying at times, when i play a game like Forza or any other the sound bar is a better option or even when I'm playing solo on a fps
Having earthing issue with the sound bar... If u keep ur skinny part on sound bar.... U get a feel like shocking...... Raised complaint engineers came and told it will be like that. If u want test keep a tester on the grill part of sound bar it will blink.... Now raised request for refund
Keep ur palm back side to the sound bar grill at any point if u feeling like pinching then keep a tester on the grill it might blink..... For me it happened Its a defective sound bar what i got.....complaint raised and waiting for refund.....
No, you’re wrong you don’t need to mount it with its Atmos speaker facing front. This thing comes with mounting brackets the support unit and you screw the M8 screw from the bottom up.it is an L-shaped brackets.
Hey mate good video with the mounting of it it sits on the wall the same way u have it on a table it doesn’t flip up iv got this sound bar and it mounts normal to the wall. over all good video 👍
Good review 👍 how can I connect a fire stick and 4K projector - retaining the other 4K video on projector & Dolby atmos/DTSX sound ? Any insights will be helpful ..
Thank you for this review it really helped me understand. And I just bought the 55 inch LG CX OLED so this would be perfect for it 👌 and I'm still waiting for my Xbox series x and PS5
@@WazZappening really?😀 wow that's awesome bro , that makes me feel good about buying the same sound bar just going to to until black Friday next week to see if it goes down a little bit more in price
@@R0CK.N.R0LLA also, I just found a promotion on LG's website you get a free speaker with your tv purchase, just have to provide a pic of the receipt and of the serial number.
1) LG products are more readily available than Vizio. Vizio ain't available in Asia. 2) SN8YG going for about 500 USD, so the Vizio, if available, is potentially 2X the price at its full MSRP
Hi, my tv is a bit older, so he has just "ARC" and unfortunately not "eARC". Am I able to use the full Doly Atmos experience? Or should I buy a Fire TV Cube for example (which has one HDMI with eARC) to fully experience Dolby Atmos? Thanks for your help!
I dont believe you will be able to experience full Atmos with just ARC. ARC can receive Atmos, but will strip it down to 5.1 format or Dolby Digital Plus. You will need E-ARC for full-fat Dolby Atmos
question And want to buy a sound projector with Dolby Atmos My question is whether it is worth taking with 3.1 and adding two rear speakers or buying 4.1 or 5.1? The question is whether it is worth paying twice as much to get a good product? And if at all 3.1 with two more speakers will give me the same quality as 4.1 or 5.1? Is it possible to dispense with a central speaker in a sound projector that is 4.1? For example lg Sn7y It has no built-in side speakers. My question if I add a sk8 will give me the same return as a 5.1 sound bar .. If sk8 does the same function what does two speakers built into the sides of a sound bar? Thanks in advance for the answer
I bought this sound bar last week. These are great speakers for music , good for tv shows however not good for movie watching . Rear speakers LG SPK8-S: needs to be purchased separately however they are not available in India. In amazon the rear speakers cost as much as 40K on top of the sound bar cost. Dobly atmos is a gimmick I couldn't get it to work on movies played locally on my LG C9 or Netflix app. If you are planning to upgrade in future to a 5.1 setup these aren't worth it due to lack of rear speakers availability. If you want a surround setup go with HT Z9F including rear speakers now you get it for 69k online, check in your local stores for extra discount during festive offer and CC cash back you get it for like 60 including rear speakers.
Note :I finally got the Dolby Atmos to work. If you are having trouble with dolby Atmos - Reset the sound bar, Please ensure to turn off Dolby Atmos on LG tv , Turn on eArc and enable audio bypass. These speakers can only play web Atmos ( Netflix and HBO). They can't play true HD Dolby atmos audio ( blu ray )
I bought the LG SL8YG on Black Friday sales, is amazing, is the same as this one except mine doesn't have earc and room auto calibration two things that i dont need since im running everything trought HDMI, except cable tv. I have the SPJ4-S rear speakers kit, that work flawless. How far is the soundbar from your sit? Did you change the equalizer? I always run on Movie mode also, except Dolby atmos of course. I have right and left 0, center +2 for extra dialogue clearence, overhead +4, rear 0, treble 0 and bass -2, im sitting arround 8 feet ( 270cm) away, my ceiling is 10 feet (300cm) height. What do you think of this settings? Thanks.
@@jalavinaya8632 try on amazon, LG SPK8. Or you can buy one LG SJ4R, or a SK5R, then you sell the soundbar and subwoofer and keep the rear kit, is the SPJ4-S rear kit but is compatible, thats the kit that i use. And that is what i did, had the SJ4R and sold it without the rear kit.
I had a couple questions.. 1) is the subwoofer wireless? When it's currently connected via cord, but when I remove it, it turns off. 2) the sound bar did not come with HDMI eARC, so I'm currently using the optical cords.. in order for me to get EARC, it needs to be HDMI right? And if so, do I still need to have the optical (in & out) cord connected? I'm assuming it's one or the other. 3) once I get the HDMI eARC cables, will it allow me to adjust the volume on my TV CX remote? I don't want to be using 2 separate remotes 4) is there any possible way to have the sound bar and subwoofer completely wireless? No rush on the response. I'd appreciate any guidance you can provide. Thanks in advance man
For 1 and 4: The subwoofer wirelessly connects with the speaker (the actual bar). They connect to each other via Bluetooth and they do so automatically. However, the sound bar and the subwoofer need to connect to a power source independently. So that can't be completely wireless. 2. You just need an ARC compatible HDMI cable and you wouldn't need the optical cable. 3. Yes, you'll be able to adjust the volume with just one remote.
The only problem I can see is that my LG C1 OLED sits so low you can't really put a soundbar in front of it. I'm surprised they didn't consider this when designing the stand for the C1. So I would need to put it on the shelf under the TV. I'm not sure how the top firing speakers would do in that case.
Hi bro... please tell me which is the best camera 📷 for RU-vid video shooting. I will shoot videos mainly indoors like sitting in chair and shooting in my room/mini homemade studio.... like you shoot indoors... budget is 50k to 60k... I am not into photography I just want Great video with blurry background effect. Please suggest best camera to buy in 2020
It's a very complicated answer! But in that budget you'll only get crop sensors, so make sure you have enough distance between you and the background. Having said that, get a pancake lens with 25 mm f/1.7 aperture (equivalent of 50mm on full sensor) and that should get you a nice background blur
Thanks for reply Bro.... After watching so many videos I have short listed two cameras canon m50 and canon 200d Mark II.. so please tell me how good is this cameras.... So many Indian youtubers and foreign youtubers are telling that m50 is good for 4k video recording... Please give me your thoughts on this. Which camera should I buy and which lens along with the camera
@@e.t.l4324 I agree. I got the Samsung and went back to exchange for this one. Samsung sound is limited, doesn’t go very loud. We cranked it up maximum and it wasn’t even that loud. I’m so happy I got this. Wayyyy better.
I bought the LG sn9yg, I read good reviews on it but was very disappointed. I connected with HDMI (connected to LG C9) and still wasn’t impressed at all. The bass is weak and doesn’t do a good job of making you feel the immersion you’d expect while watching action scenes. The rear speakers (bought separately) were almost completely silent and the atmos sound from above was non existent. I tried for hours, different settings and videos with no luck. It was a good basic soundbar but almost nothing as far as atmos. It’s close to $1k, performance wise it should cost $300 to $400. I’m debating on trying the JBL 9.1 system next, if anyone has any recommendations I’d love your input.
Couple of things: 1. Are you sure you connected using the ARC HDMI port of your TV to the ARC HDMI port of the soundbar? 2. Even if you did that, you've to be sure that the HDMI cable is ARC compatible itself. Old hdmi cables don't support ARC. ARC is important as it automatically detects the sound that's coming and switches Atmos on or off. 3. You've to be sure you're watching content that has Dolby Atmos content in it. 4. Do run the AI sound calibration once to ensure its optimised basis the placement. 5. Use LG wifi speaker app to increase the bass.
@@mobiscrub I appreciate the quick reply, thank you. Yes, the HDMI was bought supporting ARC (recommended by the Abt sales associate). Also it is plugged into the LG C9 ARC as well. The content was tried through several sources Atmos test videos on RU-vid, Amazon Prime and Netflix. I didn’t see anything about a self calibration tool on the soundbar but I’ve tried adjusting the settings (for hours) and no luck. I just now downloaded the app and will try that tomorrow, if it doesn’t work I’ll have to return it and try a different soundbar (I was thinking the JBL Atmos soundbar based on test reviews). There is basically no noticeable Atmos affect and little subwoofer sound, for a regular soundbar it might be ok... But not at this price and supposedly Atmos (I did see a recent price drop, still it’s overpriced and I’d say worth between $300 and $400).
I'm not sure about JBL as I've never experienced them. But I do recommend, that before you buy, a review should only help you narrow down your choices. When it comes to sound, it's important to experience by yourself. So I'd always prefer a live demo before purchase. Also, did you try setting your sound mode to Movie? I'm using them right now as my daily speaker and I've been quite happy.
@@mobiscrub Yes, movie is the best by far but missing any sound from above and the rears are very quiet. I wish I could hear them at the store but most places don’t have them set up where you can listen and if they do the rooms are huge and you can’t tell if sound is bouncing off the walls/ceiling. I’ve had surround systems in the past I really enjoyed, For example a Denon receiver and Definitive Technology speakers (it was incredible). I know no bar will reproduce that sound but I’d still expect to hear sound above and more sound behind. Do you hear sound above you in scenes with rain, helicopters, etc. with yours?
Yeah... I do. It's definitely not as accurate as it could with speakers that can physically simulate the effect, but given that these soundbars are trying to recreate the effect virtually, there's only so much you can expect. Right?
I've had this unit for a couple days now. I am running in Movie sound mode. After a while, the sound just stops working. I switch the sound mode and the sound comes back. This is my first soundbar, but pretty sure it is not normal. It sounds good as I also have the rear speaker setup. Maybe it's just Movie mode that this happens, but I ain't going for this, probably be taking this thing back.
Dolby atmos doesn’t work over optical I use HDMI Earc and then plus that port to my tv that says the same and you also got to make sure your it’s enabled also on Netflix or w.e your watching it from
Great review brother - two questions / while playing video games what sound mode do you prefer on the soundbar ? & while playing a movie if the movie sound is dts should you change it to dts on the PlayStation or keep it at Dolby on the audio settings ?
Unfortunately, I can't comment. I've not used the Sonos yet or experienced it, to be able to give you a fair response. All I can say is, you won't be disappointed with the SN8YG.
I have it and feel like the bass is heavy ass hell and I don't even have bass changed than stock. But, every single movie is loud with bass at 25, but the talking parts are so low
Good review thank you can you just explain what is exactly the difference between SL8YG and SN8YG and what does the G stand for in that reference. Thanks in advance.
Anyone knows if this support alexa? 8 know the video says it does, but the website say it does. Jsut wondering if I can use this without another alexa echo.
Hi brother I bought lg sl8yg 3.1.2 but rear speakers not available in India 🇮🇳 could u give me any alternative speakers or any solution for that I missing that rear experience?
Hey man, you can connect the bluetooth of the iphone to listen to the music from my library in the lg soundbar and tried but nothing is heard, it just says connected but the sound does not pass for the lgsoundbar.
The craftsman is pretty poor. Literally, the height speakers are losing range with its 90 degree setup. It's subpar. A 2.1 against this specific model would come off as a very close rival
