Exact same issue on similar, if not same model, and almost spot on 2 yrs in use (Jan 6, 2022). Ridiculous this part failed in this short amount of time. Thanks for posting. Edit: Yep, same type, but apparently stepdown... Mine is Model #LREL6323S, 6.3 cu ft. Electric Range. I called LG and warranty is 1 year and no other recourse. I referenced your video and associated comments for inclusion of rep's notes and my complaint. Rep acknowledged there were "some problems" and the appropriate department was "aware", for whatever that's worth. Their LG repair was quoted at $345 in NE Florida. The price is my recollection, but didn't write the info down, just declined.
What a great video! Thanks for posting this. I have the exact same problem with the exact same LED that isn't working. Gonna have to bite the bullet on the $120 because I can't stand looking at it any longer!
Thank you for sharing ! I have the exact same problem with my LG range (the same 6325F model as yours) that I purchased new from Canadian Appliance Source (CAS) just 2 1/2 years ago. Shame on LG for offering unduly short warranties given the lifespan reasonably expected for a device of this type. I don't know what the Common Law provides in the other provinces of Canada but here is what the Civil Code of Quebec provides on this subject: “1726.The seller is bound to warrant the buyer that the property and its accessories are, at the time of the sale, free of latent defects which render it unfit for the use for which it was intended or which so diminish its usefulness that the buyer would not have bought it or paid so high a price if he had been aware of them.” To be continued !
Just noticed this morning making breakfast a missing digit. Doesn't bother me so much but my wife absolutely hates it. Going to have to do this repair myself soon. Thanks for the advance tips on disassembly.
I had the same problem. I live in a remote area and they couldn’t find a warranty repair person so gave me a $1400 gift certificate for a new stove. Crazy eh. They let me keep the “broken” stove. Bought the replacement part off of eBay for $50 but didn’t get it put in. Decided to run the oven clean cycle and it must have melted the solder. Works fine now and I have a brand new stove in the shed in a box. Win!
We have this same problem on our LG stove AND LG microwave. On the microwave the numbers are not only missing bars but there's also a ghosting of the numbers that cycle flashes constantly. Obviously there are defects with some LG digital displays across their product line. We have only had the set for 3 years.
Thanks for the video, guess I am joining the club. I’ll order the part first and then just replace it. From the comments, it appears to be a common issue. Hopefully the newer parts last longer.
Oh! I have the exact same stove and I noticed a cut on the surface of the clock area, don't know if its because of that, but it hasn't been working properly for months now. It also happened about 2 years after I got it. Now we can't even see the oven temperature properly and we have to guess 🤣 thanks for this video. Dont think i would be able to change it myself, so time to call my dad 🤣
Additional thought - I bought a replacement LCD board based on my oven model number, but it was very slightly different. I read that they can sometimes change boards during a manufacturing run. I think it is best if you take apart the oven and remove the part BEFORE you order a new one. That way you will be ordering the EXACT part that needs to be replaced. Relying on oven model numbers is not always accurate as I have found.
OK, but whose do you buy? LG gets very good reliability ratings on Consumer Reports. Everything seems to be built like cr@p, and unrepairable, these days.
Three-year-old LG gas slide-in range, precisely the same issue, with display losing one LCD at a time. I bought an LG for reliability, and now I am seeing near-infant mortality in the display. What is up with their quality control? Is it done by Boeing? Very disappointing. I am thinking your 2006 vs 2008 part number merely reflects the year of manufacture of the parts in question. Thank you for preparing this video. I should probably post something analogous for my unit, for which the disassembly procedure will be entirely different because the display is on the front panel, right above the oven door.
Same problem here too, the part is very expensive, I might wait a few years and just buy a new stove lol mine isn’t as bad , I just have one bar not lighting
Thanks for the video. Luckily for me, after almost 2 years, I was able to get the warranty to kick in and they're going to replace it shortly. But I'm curious to see what you'll be able to do with the old part, as I won't be able to try it myself since they'll probably keep the old part.
The guy who came replaced the motherboard + the EAV64012008 device. I'm happy to say that the two parts he replaced, he gave me the two old parts. I started looking / testing at the old motherboard, which still seems to be in good condition. As for the EAV64012008, because of the epoxy, it's really hard to test.
I have the exact LG range and my clock is going out the same. I read the oven temperature very well. I can't do all that repair. 120 for the part alone is expensive. I don't know what to do now
Same problem with LG LSEL6337F. Installed just over 2 years ago. So annoying! Have the front display, just on top of the oven door. Any videos for this?
I'd sure like to know if this is the same part that fits the lrel6323s/01 or how to find out. It's a nightmare to find these parts. Can I ask where you purchased the module?
