Products in the video: LG C2 48 inch TV - geni.us/lgc248tv Service Remote for LG TV - geni.us/lgserviceremote Ambient Light Bar - geni.us/philipslightbar
A great video but it doesn't answer one thing: Do these TVs (I'm looking at the UQ91) have a 'wake up timer', so it can go from standyby to a TV channel, please? I have an existing Samsung that does, but their new ones don't,so this restricts which TV to buy next. Thanks.
I bought c2 55 inch 3 months, accessed almost allof the menu, but i didnt know i can access host diagnostic information from the remote, thanks a ton for this useful video
I was able to find signal strength level in menu using this video when using antenna for broadcast tv. Go to settings, general, channels then select first drop down in channels without selecting it (just highlight it) and press number one on remote five times like he said in this video and then you can see the signal strength of selected channel....
Great video - Thank You. We recently bought a 43LM63 (Made in Mexico - as we live in Honduras). I use a DNS Proxy Server to receive our U.S. programs here. This TV is giving me fits. On the 'country' setting, it does not have the U.S. as an option. And the 'other' selection does not allow the programming to get through. Is there a way to ADD the U.S. to the Country selection list?
Thank you. I doubt it though. It’s most likely set in firmware based on the country or region you bought it in. Maybe the service remote might help but can’t guarantee it. Never tried doing that, sorry.
Just so people know, most of these menus work on most modern LG tvs, not just the OLEDs. I have a budget 65 inch lg tv I picked up from walmart and all of these worked except the last one
@@TheReviewFella Maybe you can help me with another issue... I am using an ethernet cable for input. When I power up I get a message that indicates 'no input'. When I hit "Home", then it sees my input and everything works great. I can't find anything that allows me to select 'ethernet' as input. This is just an irritation but I would like to get it 'right'.
On my C1 if I go to All Settings, then General, then Network, I can turn off WiFi and the TV defaults to the plugged in Ethernet input. The other thing to note is that your TV might take a short while to gain an IP address from your internet provider and that’s why there is no immediate network connection. Mine takes a minute or so to connect to the internet on start up.
Thanks for that. Even money it's your second suggestion as "Network" shows "Connected to ethernet" and "WIFI off". But I did find a shade-tree but acceptable solution as I fool around with Arduino Microprocessors a bit so i installed one near the TV that reads the remote IR signals. When it sees the code for "Power on" I wait 3 seconds then send the IR "Home" command. Now I get the home screen in less than four seconds and other than a small grey box with "2-1" on the left and "DTV" and "NO INFORMATION" on the right side (no idea what any of that means), momentarily shows, I am getting pretty much what I wanted... power up and showing the home screen with a single button push on the remote. Again... thanks for responding.@@TheReviewFella
Hi buddy sorry to be a pain, so i need to disable miracast and screen sharing abilities on my lg c1 as my neighbours are rather noisy and nosey that love watching what i am. Ive currently unplugged the tv from ethanet and wifi is off ive tried everything but i did not know about these hidden features so thank you
Not quite following your question as surely if you cast to your TV it’s secure? And on your network? I can’t see how anyone can cast from or to your devices through a wall on a different network?
I was wondering how to verify the refresh rate so thanks for that. Sometimes I think new technology goes backwards though. On my previous LG LB6500, if you simply pressed the wheel on the magic remote just once, you could get resolution, refresh rate and the codecs used for the video and audio streams. I had hoped for the same thing on my new C4 but the standard menus only appear to show the incoming resolution on each HDMI input source.
Do you know if I can see runtime? I ordered a new TV and I’d like to check to make sure it was never used before arriving to me, any idea how I could check that? Service menu?
Can only confirm the Host Diagnostics works on LG OLED CX (OLED65CX5LB - latest firmware) series(?) "Programmes Tuning & Settings" is under "Programmes" and not "General" > then the 1 x 5 presses, unless I'm doing it wrong none of the other "shortcuts" seem to work on the this model/series.
I’m in the US-my G2 does not show Programs in General menu. The C2 you used listed Programmes after Family settings. On my G2 Programs does not exist-is there another way to access the Host Diagnostics screen? Thanks
The C2 and G2 share the same processor and webOS version so the options should match. The only thing I can think of is to turn off any Intelligent modes which might make some menu options unavailable. Make sure your TV has the latest software/firmware downloaded. Failing that you could factory reset the TV and see if the default settings show the options you’re looking for. I actually update very little in my TV settings.
The audio on bluetooth stereo system is very low for all OTT apps except RU-vid and DTH. I tried using tv speaker with bluetooth simultaneously option. It gets loud but there is significant delay even after the manual tuning option. The settings dont stay even after making delay to 0. Is there a fix for this ? I dont find any volume settings for any OTT app.
LG’s website usually will say Minor bug fixes. Tech Giant had a RU-vid video of LG website saying update corrects voice recognition problem. That’s rare tho.
Is there a way to make the picture display in native resolution on an LG TV? For example, the TV is 1080p but the signal is 720p. Is there a way to display 720p in <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="61">1:1</a> pixel with a black border around the image? I've seen a Sharp TV that could do that.
Very helpful video. I have 55”G1 and I’m not impressed with the sound delay. It’s way off and I can’t seem to find a way to fix it. Also, the sound is terrible. If you say loud explosions going on then everything else is drowned out. So if someone is speaking at the same time you can’t hear them until the explosions stop and then they are very loud and clear. It’s almost like the sound card has only one channel
Yes I've had a similar issue. You can try a sound bar which will often have a clear voice setting. Or change the TV sound mode from Standard to Clear Voice Pro (which is what I do), for the TV source. It's not perfect but does help.
Hello! I have a lg 32 lq63006la hdr tv. For the Xbox series s console, it does not offer an hdr setting, instead it remains the sdr when I want to set it in the TV settings. Auto hdr is turned on in the xbox. Maybe there is a solution for this?
Hi, I don’t touch any HDR settings when playing my PS5. The TV auto selects the correct HDR mode. You shouldn’t need to change anything for your Xbox. HDR games will be auto detected by the TV.
Your model TV supports 4K and HDR. You shouldn’t have to change any settings. Make sure you are using the original or a good quality HDMI cable. The only settings you might need to change are on the console but I don’t have the Xbox so can’t check that for you. I don’t change any settings for gaming, the TV automatically displays HDR content.
thk for the video. is it possible to install android pak on a LG WebOS TV? Also, is it possible to dissable the TV tuner (each time i switch on the TV, i have an error message because i don't use radio frequency tv, i use only internet TV)?
Hi, never tried to install Android pak? Third party apps can be installed via a USB drive if compatible. I don't think you could disable the TV tuner. The error message is probably because the TV is looking for a valid input on start up. Do you not have any HDMI devices connected? If you do you could set the HDMI port as priority on start up?
@TheReviewFella thank you for this to the point video. I use HDMI to my PC but when I press "Mute x3" the "Auto Power Sync" setting is greyed out and I am unable to toggle it. Do you know why this might be?
Thanks. I don’t know. Depends what version of webOS your TV has and if it’s compatible with the codes in the video. If none of them work then it isn’t.
Hello and thank you. It used to be under the TV Information menu but I think the only way you can now see it is via the hidden menu accessed by the LG service remote.

I have a new OLED65C2PUA and understand there may be a setting in Hotel Mode to change the default HDMI port on power on (instead of the last port you were on when you powered off). I have not had sucess getting into Hotel mode on the newer TV. Any suggestions?
Do you know how to pair a BT tv remote to new LG tv’s please so I can operate volume and standby from the BT remote. I was able to do this on my previous Panasonic tv but am struggling with the new LG, cheers
Never done it but a quick Googling seems to suggest pressing Home and 9 on your remote to pair it to the TV. If that doesn’t work you might have to use your TV remote and BT remote separately.
Thank you for some great videos and guides. Do you know if there is a way for an LG TV to always start up on Live TV channel 1? If the TV is turned off on channel 50, when it is turned on again, it should start up on Live TV channel 1. I can get the TV to start up on Live TV every time, but not from channel 1.

Thank for the video, I have a LG TV (55UR8050PSB). There is a satellite socket for connecting the TV to satellite dish/cable in the rear of it but it the tuning menu, I can only find DTV program search option. Is there any way to activate built-in satellite receiver on it?
I don’t think there is a built in satellite receiver? You may have built in tuners? You’ll need to connect an appropriate device, dish or aerial to receive external content like that or a cable box for cable TV, or a firestick/Chromecast etc for streaming content.
But I'm looking for a way to watch satellite channels on my TV by connecting the LNB directly to the TV. I don't want to buy a satellite receiver separately and connect it to the TV using HDMI cable.
I have a 2023 c9 OLED. The VRR menu doesns't work (green button 7 times) from the home screen or any app. Host Diagnostics are all unknown More actions doesn't work
It’s really tricky to open. It’s also possible that the feature has been changed or removed with updates LG send to the TV. It’s something I need to retest soon.
The remote control does not have a button for CH List, so what would you recommend to do to change from one list of favorites to another and to switch from viewing satellite channels (satellite dish) to normal TV channels, each time you have to enter through the main menu and then open a myriad of entries? Whoever who made this television is the biggest incompetent in the world, I have had Philips, Hisense, Sony, and other brands but none of these had the bullshit that LG has. Thanks for your valuable comment on this matter.
@@TheReviewFella My TV is OLED 55B42LA model, this is 2024 edition, I purchased the remote you suggested and I will see if it is better than the LG original one that I don't like it at all.
hi super tuto, i have a lg oled 48 c2 do you know how to install the play store apps on the TV? I can't find the "install unknown application" function like on the smartphone? thanks
Hi and thank you. I’m not sure you can on the LG TV. I think it may be locked down to only the compatible apps available through the apps option. You might be able to force it but it’s not something I’ve done.
3. No key (or menu option) to display the current video (and audio) data (resolution, HDR, Dolby Vision etc.) in every situation (including integrated apps as RU-vid, Netflix ...).
It is actually pretty easy for the sleep time all you do is you hold down the microphone and say sleep time however long you want and Bam it sets it for you. In fact with the sleep mode you're set to rounded numbers like 20 30 60 80 ect. But if you hold the microphone you can actually set it how you want 65 minutes 45 35 and you can also cancel sleep mode just by holding the microphone button and speaking into it. It's way easier and way faster than a sleep button and much more fine tunable
I have the C2 and my volume and channel changer buttons aren't working. They work on my Directv remote but not on the LG remote. Anyone have any ideas ? Thanks
I received my LG OLED C2 TV yesterday and I can't find how to do a channel check and I can't get live TV to work. Keeps going too LG channels. Any advice for a good video for understanding connections and inputs. I can't get a lot of this to work. I pushed the mute button 3 times and nothing worked (<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="101">1:41</a>)
I have an LG TV and we are using the fire stick remote and every time we put it on mute with our fire stick the select the menu screen comes on. And we don't know how to remove it. Can you help? Thank you
Not sure I understand your question. I have a Firestick and when I’m watching cable TV and press mute on the Firestick remote it just mutes the TV. It doesn’t bring anything else up. What is appearing? Is it the LG TVs app ribbon/menu? Or the Firestick screen/menu.
I have Programmes on my C1 so you’ve either changed something or it’s not available in your region for some reason. You could try to factory reset your TV to put it back to how it was when you bought it. Other than that I don’t know.
I’m in the UK so mine is a European model. But I don’t think there should be much difference. Most of my RU-vid channel audience are located in the USA and it’s not something that has been fed back to me often. You could also try turning off any AI settings you have first. Also turn the picture mode to something Standard. Or one of the Expert Modes. Other than what we’ve already discussed though I really don’t know (sorry).
Do any of the other hidden menu options work? If others don’t work either it could be the version of webOS installed on that TV doesn’t support all the options. I’ve tested the settings on TVs manufactured from 2021 onwards.
Is there a way to disable all the "smart" functions of the TV and only see the terrestrial linear channels? This is for eldery people. I do not want pop-ups appearing, system updates, cookies permissions,, text messages alerts, apps, netflix, youtube apps, splash screens full of menus, floating pointers, navigation bars... Nothing that distracts and needs to take action from the viewer. I tried disconnecting the wifi/ethernet but still some "smart" things appear. I basically want my 2023 TV behave like a 2008 TV showing only the digitalTV channels, volume up/down and nothing more. Is that possible? Thanks.
I don’t think that would be possible. Other than stopping the app ribbon auto launching on start up as shown in the video. But pressing the Home button on the remote would just bring it back up again. You could explore Hotel Mode as shown in the video. This is designed to lock out some functionality so that hotel guests have limited access. It might help.
The picture quality is auto set depending on the quality of whatever you’re watching/streaming. Lower cost streaming plans that don’t offer UHD would be one way. But the TV is just displaying whatever you’re putting through it.
U seen like u know these tv's i bought a G3 2023 and this 3000$ shit box now turn on my ps5 everytime i turn the TV on even tho i dont wanna play i cant figure out the problem i want that when i press the PS Button on Controller the TV turn on but i dont wanna have the ps5 on when i turn on the TV on hope u get what i mean my old bravia didnt have that problem i guess its just wrong setting but cant find it. If anyone here also can help wozld be great thanks, cheers
On my C1 (may be slightly different menu option on C3 and G3), open settings, go to General, Devices, External Devices and turn off SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC). This is the setting that lets external devices take priority and turn on when other devices turn on. Not sure if that helps.
@@TheReviewFella correction you must be using hdmi for it to work. I got it to work when doing that but on any other screen option it won’t access. Sorry for the misunderstanding
