Every once in a while some company comes along and take the game to a whole another level. This company seems to be that. I was surprised at the level of details packed into such short video. Extremely useful review!
this is good to buy like in 43" size , connected the CHROMCAST TV to it like i did & take it around the house & patio & yard as portable TV, since got pretty good pic & is cheap , thats what i bought or pay 3 times more , same size and get A+ model, I bought this in 43" for $375 on sale
Thank You Rtings for your in-depth reviews, it was a big help several months ago while looking for my new TV. I’m shocked at how poor all the entry level TV’s have become, mid level is the new entry level.
This is a good tv, however it has a little bit of ips glow though, but all ips panels are alike, buying a good tv these days is like buying a lotto ticket
I name these as "HDR-Compatible" TVs, but they are not HDR TVs. The peak light output is just over 300 nits, but if you look at the graph on the right hand corner of the screen at the 7min mark of this review, the gray "measured" line is much below the yellow reference. What this means is that all HDR content is being shown much darker than intended when referencing ST2084 gamma; it defines the signal-in light output definition. The TV can't do it, so watching the HDR edition of a movie will appear darker than the SDR version and the highlights are aggressively tone mapped to fit the limited light output of this display. It will also look incorrectly coloured as well since the TV does not have a wide colour gamut (8:44 video). Yes, the TV just "hard clips" colours (Dolby Vision exists for this very reason as it understands not all current HDR TVs are created equally). This begs the point: why watch 4K-HDR on this TV? I wouldn't. This is an SDR TV that is compatible with HDR images but displays them in an inferior manner. Most, if not all budget 4K HDR televisions work the same way. Thank you, Dago, for the review! -Mike, "M.O. Calibrations"
Great review the LG 55" UR8050 4K UHD LED Smart TV has just been released here In Australia I've been looking at LG, Samsung, Sony & Hisense they all have good TVs but Hisense is a test market here In Australia & I've heard they have some issues with software firmware updates, I like the Sony because it's Google TV & I wouldn't have to worry about setting up another account just to use the smart TV features.
Im sure your seeing the same information that I am. Looks like its confirmed that the LG C1 and G1 are the same exact panel. C1 owners really should unplug their panel so LG dont lower the nits. REALLY looking forward to your G1 Review Upload!!!!! Just be HONEST Please
What do you think about this compared to the Sony X80J? I like the magic remote, is it better than the Sony's remote? The Sony is about $200 more for the 55" which I'm looking at but has better specs, right?
They're very similar TVs. The only notable differences between them are that the X80J can display a wide color gamut for HDR, gets a bit brighter, and has better response times. It also has a flicker-free backlight, making it a good choice for people sensitive to backlight flicker. You can comapre them side-by-side here: www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/lg-up8000-vs-sony-x80j/22978/21694?usage=11&threshold=0.10
I recently got this tv in a 43" and tried both Doom eternals and Dirt 5s 120fps mode, and the game optimiser menu stated I was in 120fps? Didn't necessarily feel it with doom but dirt 5 definitely felt smoother.
We give the edge to the AU8000 overall for gaming. It has a better overall picture quality as well due to the higher contrast and better black uniformity as well. www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/lg-up8000-vs-samsung-au8000/22978/21557?usage=10&threshold=0.05#main-diff
Bought the 55up8000 and 2 1/2 months later it breaks down. It started with Alexa not working, then the auto updates not working to the thing saying it's having server issues and your internet not working and finally not being able to download the user agreement to use the apps and other stuff. Now I'm waiting for a tv technician to come over with parts to fix an 80 day old tv. I wish I would have done more research on the showroom floor at Best Buy before making this crappy purchase. First and last lg tv for me.
We don't have any current plans to buy and review this TV, but it's on our suggestion list. So, if there's enough interest, we'll buy and review it! www.rtings.com/tv/suggestions
What is good budget tv under $1000 for hdr ps5 gaming? No need for 120hz because i knew the only 120hz for ps5 is indie game or light family atleast until ps5 pro How about AU9000?
We haven't tested the AU9000 yet, so we can't speak to it unfortunately. If you're not in a rush, we will have a more clear idea of the options as we continue to test more TVs! But to answer your question now, depending on what size of TV you're after, the Sony X90J could be a good option. It's $1198 right now for the 55" or $998 for the 50". If you're not worried about 120Hz though, the Hisense H9G would be the best option (65" is $949 at the time of writing).
Can I ask you guys something? Why do you expect that the 86inch version has 100hz instead of 60hz? Does it? And does it support 4k/120 gaming? I can't find it. Hope you can help.
When we tested this TV, the manufacturers website and user reports confirmed that the 82'' and 86'' both had 120hz panel. Unfortunately, since we haven't tested those sizes, we can't say for sure whether or not 4k/120hz works properly. Sorry about that!
DOWNGRADE from last years theres no Va panel except 43/60" ( also no 120hz only on 82" /86" bad contrast ads panels ew) also screen bit worse procesor alpha 5 instead Alpha 7 gen3, lackluster job and there we go it cost bit more after Samsung Ads which cost fortune! There we go.
Probably not, honestly. It's a very basic TV and performs pretty poorly overall. So, it won't be much of an upgrade compared to most TVs. If you're looking for a cost friendly TV though, these are some better options: www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/best/budget
i looking for big tv about 60 inch how i know lg for me will be better like for photographer because i will use it for my pc and somethimes will be need work with photos !!! maybe someone know good tv model for that what i need ???
Hi, i’m a simracer and i‘m looking for triple 32” 1440p gsync gaming monitors with best possible image quality (contrast, colors, deep black), which one can you recommend?
Hey! Based on your needs, it looks like the Samsung Odyssey G7 might be the best option for you. We've created you a custom table tool for you to compare some options here: www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/table/54649 Feel free to further customize it to your liking! :)
For me budget brands > name brands when it comes to budget TVs. Don't have the money to drop for LG OLED or say Sony X90J then don't buy from those brands. TCL 5/6 series would be better and I'd expect their 2021 models to be better once they are unveiled.
@@johnblakewerth810 very true, it's a shame you guys over there don't get anything good from tcl. I can't imagine a tcl 6 series wouldn't sell well. I know hdtvtest did an interview talking with the marketing guy a tcl and I believe he asked about it.
@@TylerStout I read maybe it same situation with Vizio which is only enough to supply USA/CA/MEX and they not sure it would sell here good, i honestly never thought about, how bad it is its scaray we literally have no Budget good hdr tv here. I doubt we get any XXL TCl here too, yeah we dont have any Hisense/TCL 85" , as i said its not well known firms and probably not very tested by customers yet. It even took sometime we got those medium offerings(2018-19) maybe why its too slow here. ..
@@johnblakewerth810 Hisense is almost the same as (sometimes better than) TCL. You could buy a Hisense in the UK/Europe with similar specs. TCL and Hisense aren't "budget" brands - they're Chinese brands with huge scale, aggressive pricing (like Chinese phone makers), mostly due to a dominate the market long term plan and heavy government subsidies. You will always get a more reliable TV from Japanese or S. Korean brands, but the difference is only slight.
@@interstat2222 Hisense ( not sold in EU) can have better overal picture then on Sony X950h and no we dont have those options ( U8/U7 ) and we only have lower tiers which arent sold in 75" sizes. Too. Yes theyre budget or suppose like Sony X90J but just priced bit more here because of tax.
I have a lg 6090 tv but I thinking about upgrade for the lg 8000 because I thought It might have some new update features and picture quality maybe slight different and I have a xbox s will it support it
The 6090 LG is usually a holiday model at most box box retailers, and your better off keeping it than spending money on a similar tv, unless you want the redesigned magic remote. I would save up for a tv with some form of local dimming or some form of backlight control because just like the 6090, it’s an edge-lit television. A good upgrade would be the nano cell 75 model they introduced this year.
This has much better judder reduction than Samsung's au8000 but has worser colours/picture quality. The pwm is a deal breaker tho, that'll hurt some people's eyes
The Samsung has a much higher contrast because of its VA-type panel, and the LG has wider viewing angles due to its IPS panel type. The Samsung is a better choice to use in well-lit rooms because it has better reflection handling and gets brighter, but it's still not enough to truly fight glare. On the other hand, gamers should appreciate the LG's quicker response time for smoother motion. It also supports 1440p, which the Samsung doesn't.
@@RTINGSdotcom ohh tnx for the info, also i ordered the Hisense u8qf tv can u guys make a review on it?the specs on it are j Insane but that's on paper only I need the confirmation of some expert's

@@SeventhMarkfor similar or cheaper price, i would go for last years sony x900h, tcl r635, hisense h9g. I like to watch movies and tv shows. Contrast, color gamut and hdr brightness are what i look for when choosing a tv. Yours might be different.
I just returned a hisense A6g which is their budget tv. It was not good at all. No matter what adjustments you made it never looked right. I tried the lg UN7000 with the VA panel and it is much better. It might not compare with the u6g or the other upgraded models, but it’s important to Compare like price point. The hisense seemed cheap. All the way around. No depth to the picture, horrible sound, and settings that either drastically changed picture or had to effect. The lg has much better quality feel to it. I may try another brand if I become unhappy with the LG but as of now much better.
I chose this one because it has Dolby Atmos passthrough which the Nanocell does not have. But the Nanocell is supposed to have better colors, and I don't know if better brightness as i find this one too dark. But eveything else is the same.
This TV is awful. The backlight bleed isn't something I would expect, regardless of price. Samsung and Toshiba same size and price without the backlight bleed. I wish I could return it.
Yes, they're different TVs. The UQ8000 is a 2022 model and the UP8000 is a model from last year. We're currently testing the UQ8000 we purchased, so our results should be available soon!
120Hz backlight pwm frequency ... well that's one way to make it an immediate pass to anyone sensitive to this. The alternating panel type by size also makes my head spin, way to create confusion LG!
I have the 86" and this review mostly applies. blacks definitely look gray. it's a decent budget tv for the 1200 I paid for it but it's not mind blowing.
@@RTINGSdotcom thanks for the info. I'm always refer to the RTINGS video especially TV reviews. A lots of information. Just some tv models reviews not available in Malaysia market. Hopefully RTINGS can review on Asia Region market as well. By the way good job guys and keep it up. Thumbs up.
You mentioned that you have made some production changes to your channel - this is the first video of yours that I have watched... so... not sure what you changed, but here are my thoughts: content is good! Lighting is good! Mic is good! but... you talk way to fast - especially for people that don't know all of the electronic buzzwords. Slow down your speaking cadence and you'll nail it!
Hello there lads.. I want your help ! OLED Users can you please answer this mysterious question of mine about burn-in issue on OLED Tvs. If i set to maximum brightness beak while Gaming Mode or Watching Movies & Tvs Shows for like 10, 12, 14 hrs but there is no logos nor static stuff, do i still have a chance of burn in risk. or it's all fine unless if there is static images & logos etc.. Answering this would be huge help.. +Thanks.
for burn in to happen, the pixel in question needs to be constantly showing one color. The brightness of that color and the duration of it are both factors to consider. I'm no expert, and I'm too lazy to search up stats, but if you are afraid of burn in, a brightness at 50% for static image wont leave a burn-in even for long hours. I've seen OLED Tvs demos in stores that goes for max or at close to it, playing everyday for operating hours
I am looking for a lg IPS-ADS panel because reproduce accurately the people's skin color and the nature. I don´t like VA panel because the color is not accurate
@@Zoranurai13 Bro VA panel the color is inaccurate by defect, I regretted having bought an expensive high end VA sony tv I did all kind of calibration and adjustment setting color and some recommended and nothing. I found out through internet that the VA panel's colors are inaccurate by defective
@@josephmartinez7363 i’ve had the exact same with ips. Had a high end ips tv and it was hot garbage. I can’t stand ips glow and everything just looked oversaturated even after calibration.
ADS is BOE's (Chinese panel maker) version of IPS. Slightly improved contrast over IPS. VA colours are believed to be poorer because of the viewing angle problem. If you were directly in front of a VA panel the colours are the same as IPS, but nobody ever views a display dead centre all the time, so VA is at a major disadvantage there. IPS colours also seem to pop/look more lifelike or CRT like because the backlights are often brighter/let more light through, but it's mostly due to the better viewing angle. Some VAs have better viewing angles than others to the point where it doesn't matter much (typically panels made be Taiwan's Acer/AUO, one of the oldest panel makers).
