it's based on plastic so it could be thinner and this display panel's got 109% DCI-P3 color range. Super nice display.

Big advantages are: No Pentile Mask 3* White Oled per Pixel with color filters -> way cleaner whites Way less chance of burn in.

don't be bro, for the price LG G6 is fantastic phone, until we know the SRP of this LG V30... If money is no object to you, you should wait for the V30, but then again, G6 is still a great phone... BTW have you asked yourself if you utilized all the camera features of the G6, why you have the reason for the V30 instead?

It doesn't have optical image stabilization (OIS) on the wide angle lens. That's why in this video the fountain wall photo (where you show the fixed fish-eye lens effect) has a blurry texture on that wall. The Note8 remains the only upcoming phone to have OIS on both rear facing cameras.

Didn't thought that they would actually ditch the secondary screen. Such a shame. Ppl have grown to accept and loving the secondary screen on V series. Oh well, I think with floating bar it'll be better? But for me, I still prefer the old ones. Other than that, this phone is one of the best of this year's smartphones.

I'm sad they've removed the IR blaster. Why would they do that? It can't cost much. Also, they should have put another speaker on the top of the phone for stereo speakers -- since this is such an audio-focused phone. Good on them for the cameras! Innovative new features with that zoom focus thing. I did notice the detail of the fountain wall in the picture comparison looks much better from the V20 - but the V30 fixes that horrendous fish eye lens effect, so overall it's a win. Last note, I'm also sad that we no longer have any top tier smartphones with removable battery. :(

That's simply not true, the G5 has numerous bootloops reported and the G6 actually has bootloops as well.

ive had my g5 for 13 months now and ive never had a bootloop issue....I even got the fucking phone wet (phone actually gave me battery errors when I tried booting it) but after a few hours of letting it dry in pieces it started working again. bootloop is only popular because ppl mentioned it...and people who had their phones working didnt feel the need too.

I like smartphones with large displays, that's why I like LG V30 more than Samsung Galaxy s8 plus or Note 8 because the dual curved edges of Samsung flagship phones shorten the Display. But LG has done a great job, producing infinity OLED display without reducing screen space.

Looks like the perfect flagship phone for power users. But unfortunately I was hoping it would have dual sim with a dedicated micro sd slot. My personal deal breaker. 😔

Old LG phones are known to have overheating issue and have bootloop problem. There is a class-action lawsuit going on over the G4, G5, V10, and possibly others. I would not buy the V30 unless it comes with a 2-year replacement warranty.

the only reason the g4 and v10 got the bootloop issue is because their early models shared the same motherboard which had an overheating issue causing some boards to lose connections and no longer be able to boot. I'd know this because this happened to my mom's g4. I have a v20 and have had no issues with it and neither have a bunch of other people. The g4 was replaced by lg and was very fast too, if there are any issues i'm sure lg will fix them and i'm almost 100% positive the v30 won't have any bootloop issues.

very dissapointing service center here in PH. they didnt take or consider customer concern effort and time I went to thier main branch waited for so long and nothing happened they more of company policies and promises ,I had a g6. Iam regretful not to chose the s8 instead. samsung has excellent service in my experienced. if you will invest your money in a flagship go with samsung.

I still prefer the Note 8 with the exception that I wish samsung would just stop with the damn curved screens that make it nearly impossible to find a decent screen protector that will also work with cases and the VR headset. Though I'd probably actually go LG if they'd just actually put some decent apps on their VR headset.... Lets see what google's pixel will do this year...
