My cell phone is LG V40. Because I am Korean, I use Samsung or LG cell phone a lot. I like V40 so I use it well. It is good to see foreigners reviewing Korean products like this.^^ haha
The V40 was my phone from December 2018 until August 2019. Freaking amazing phone . I really think that they are vastly underrated. Been using LG since the flip phone days. I have never been disappointed by them . I really do miss the phone, but I had to get the Note 10+
@@NathanHallGadgetsGreatness Not much better from what I've experienced at most 8-10% improvement over this. V50 is 20%. In other words this phone is too early for replacement with current gen.
So about flat panels: I have been using flat panels for all the phones, sold my LG G7 for Samsung note 8 and the curve is really annoying while i m watching videos. Too much content on the screen cuts on edges and the shine from curve is the most annoying...So i sold my Note 8 and bought LG V40...and man i can't be more happy while watching any video on this screen. Never go go for curved edge display. Just a gimmick.
Great review. I may not agree with your criticism of the software but I respect your preference. Personally I value battery over looks. I keep all my phone to 720p. I have my Samsung at 720 p resolution. Love the camera on the lg phones
I have the same phone and my phone lasts all day long with 40 percent at the end of the day. Who in the world has a job that they can be on their phone all day anyway? I use mine on the high resolution and it lasts
I have this phone but when I connect you to my iMac I'm able to transfer my videos but they look pretty bad for some reason, but when I connect it to a Windows PC the videos look nice. Would you happen to know why?

I recently had to file an insurance claim my nephew dropped a heavy wrench on my V 40 & jacked the screen up 199 dollars and insurance through asurion I got brand spanking crispy new one and get 6/7 hrs easy.. Was gonna get the 60 but nah I need quad HD plus
The manual camera mode quad Dac poled display build quality and how light it is... I fell hard for an LG which I haven't had since the flip phone days... The V series are amazing if u like videos n music it's your best option you can adjust shutter speed white balance etc.. it has a pro mode for videos that put others to shame... Cough cough samsung...
what i think about flat screens? Well let me tell you. Who ever made this curved screen thing is enemy of all users. Pure idiot or pure evil/devil. We buy LCD for flat screen. CRT was out of date. So shy? Why are you going back? There is no advantage to curved/2,5D etc screens. Curved glass is more fragile ( the part you bend become thinner. ) More expensive. Hard to repair. Some will say edges are smooth. Duh?! For Note2 and LG G3 i was using 2.5D edge tempered glass. You made it flat, if i want to make it 2.5D, it it my decision. Bended edge phones, pure idiotism.
@@DentedDiesel You run a RU-vid channel from your V40? May I ask, can you get high quality uploads close to the original ?? And is it also possible on Facebook? Do you transfer from v40 to pc, and upload from a PC with wifi?
@@DentedDiesel Do you do it with a WiFi network or cellphone 4g? And does it look good on Facebook or only RU-vid? Oh and another important one, do you use the websites with desktop version, or the apps? I've tried the latter (website, desktop) but the quality is still appalling on Facebook but I haven't done it through WiFi only cellphone network
The worst thing you said in this review is when you said “I speak American” 😡😩 But you did backtrack and said straightway “i speak English” 👍 So, I forgive you....
If anyone knows how to remote video record on this phone please let me know It's a disappointment that apparently you can only remote photograph, which is useless for a phone that's marketed for content creation
@@formless4541 Thier is a timer for taking pics...but for recording video I don't think you can do that what your talking about..If you could the phone would have come with a remote control.,..unless your talking about a remote control built into the phone like older lg phones had..where you could use the remote to control your TV just like a regular control
@@dandaman5599 The phone does have a timer for photo and video, but you still have to physically touch the record, or photo button on the phone screen to count it down It's also possible to use a Bluetooth remote to activate the photo button from a distance, but not the video record button However with the Google pixel camera app, it's possible to do both The reason is that the stock lg app has the photo and record buttons adjacent to each other on the same screen but only the photo button can be activated The pixel app though has the photo button and video button on separate screens, and the remote works with both of them I was just wondering if there was some way if getting around the issue with the stock LG app, like some kind of hidden feature
@@formless4541 Two completely different phones each phone has its different settings features not all camera phones are the same..Google pixal does not have pro or manual adjustments
These people on here are a joke....the LGV20 was, and still is the best LG phone. Every bit of tech and hardware ALWAYS ....works- 3 years later. With a beautiful bright LCD display the V20 is much, much better than the V40,s dim washed out whites display. Its a garbage display. The LGV20 has usb-c display out, the V40 does NOT. Screen sharing on the V20 works flawlessly every time, the V40,s does not WORK ATT ALL.....The V40 is constantly warm( brand new )there for drawing down the battery life, and the battery life is poor! 5-6 hrs , maybe? The V20 has The that innovative and very useful second screen, The V40 has a second screen that does NOTHING , it's useless, how can they even call it a second screen ? The V40 loads all web pages slower than the V20 and the V30. Even LG,s Smart Home app loads slower on the V40. The V40 camera stutters, it's slower than the V20 too. These guys NEVER EVER test the hardware and real functionality of any of these devices. They basically just waste oxygen talking about what everyone can read online anywhere , it's joke, they are a joke. DO NOT BUY THE V40. This phone is major disappointment.......it might be worth $200.00 at some point but I doubt it. As a matter of fact until LG gets there act together and builds a GREAT phone, instead of rushing inferior products to market just to race the competition. Stay away from LG completely.
And you know this how? ... That's BS. I had the V20 and while it was the best phone I ever owned, is definitely not for the reason you mentioned. Is because the phone was ahead of its time. You could have it now and it still doesn't lag, mine never did even though I put through heavy usage. But the V40 is a faster phone, does not get warm AT ALL and the battery does last longer, although the fact that the V20's was removable is a plus, way better. But the V40 is not slow in any way, you gotta hold one first before you talk about it. Had the V20 till I bought the V40 and while I miss removable battery and IR blaster, the speed is not something you will hear me complain about.
I owened the v20, v30 and now v40. And the LCD display was ok but no way better than the v40's. The display on the v40 is light years ahead of the v20. And at the end of my time with the v20 mines started to stutter and lag a little. I didn't have the same problem with my v30 and definitely not with my v40. Camera quality is better in my opinion on the v40. Ext speaker is also better on the v40.
