you are my homie, you share my mindset about the LG V60 dual screen, you explained all of the reasons why i can't let go of my V60 either. the drawbacks are minor in comparison to all of the features it still brings to the table in my opinion, and just like you said; i'm gonna rock mine til the wheels fall off too, it's refreshing to know someone else understands the timeless value that the LG V60 dual screen 5G still holds. thanks for putting it in the air Brother, 🤜🤛💯
Well said my G! Couldn't agree more! I literally get stopped everyday still by complete strangers, asking to look at my phone or complimenting me on it! 🫡 & They are just going off the look they have zero idea of how many great features it actually has! & Don't get me started on the price! LGs phone department needs to come back!
@@TheTechPreacher sorry for asking offtopic, but which model you;ll recommend for rooting and modding, i think i'll only manage to get korean version and i want use android 13 for better fingerprint scanner and echanced quad dac
@@TheTechPreacher TTP, I damaged my LG v60 screen and have an OEM brand new one on the way. However, I need a recommendation for a reputable repair shop in the SF Bay Area. Can you help me please? Much THANKS and appreciation for all you do...🙏🙏🫶✝️
@@pinayvet4645 ayyyyyy congratulations to you it's call not falling for the banana in the tailpipe and not following hype. These phones are good !!!!! Team LG!!!!
Agreed! Lg V60 is my media phone, video camera & workhorse!! It’s basically my pocket computer! I shoot & edit photos on it as well. It’s even more of a beast with MotionCam app plus my stabilization rigs! I’ve been considering buying another plus the additional screen!
LG v60 and proud of it. I had an LG v60. Then got an iPhone 15plus which I enjoy using as a get things done phone. I got a Samsung ultra which is a very good phone with the stylus but, but, but... I've ditched my Samsung ultra s23 in favour of the LG v60. It is so so so far ahead for audio quality- ess sabre quad dac, 3.5mm headphone socket, Aptx wireless. It's brilliant for innovation - removable second screen. For practicality with the SD card slot. LG come back! I am using my LG v60 in 2024.
The whole LG V Series always was so criminally underrated. The V10 and V20 were incredible Flagships packed with Features the fell under the radar. The V30 was in my opinion the best overall 2017 Flagship after the Note 8 had really bad battery life, the V40 was the first phone with the holy camera trinity with a main camera, ultra wideangle and telephoto but got very little cred for it, the V50 had the incredible dual screen and the V60 packed more features into a phone than any phone after it!
I still have my LG v60, v50, just brought a v40 from eBay. Watching this great video on the v40. I will always have these around for the quad dac for music ❤
I really wish there was a way for us LG lovers to have LG give us one more line of the LG V series. My V60 from 2020 is so perfect right now. I really want a V70. Im not ready to buy a different brand
Watching on my v60 with newly added dual screen. Honestly it's so hard to get over LG phones. Solid LG fan girl since V10❤ you're my all time tech preacher ✌️
Wheels on mine broke off. I've then bought cheapo Samsung A05s, its wheels broke off too in a bike accident and I've bought another V60, cause this is still the best flagship smartphone for power user in 2024. I don't care about updates. Will use my second V60 until I crash it or something. Maybe, I'll consider another one to keep it on the shelf in safety. I wish LG were still around in mobile phone biz.
Preeeaaaach brother. This is what I do with all my COLLECTABLES. I never knew LG were that badass. I rode my Blackberry Priv to its golden sunset. Now got LG wing and obsessed with it💥💥💥
I agree with the battery. My lg v60 lasts and lasts. It does everything well. Multitasking is a breeze. Gets the job done. Dont have to worry about foldable screen breaking. Happy with my V60 dual screen. Will keep it till it dies.
I have been an LG flagship fan since the Optimus G in 2013, trading them in almost yearly. I am still using my dual screen LG V60, even though my front glass is shattered. I've been debating if I buy a used or refurbished dual screen or just splurge for One Plus Open. LG has me spoiled and it's a shame they quit making phones that are unlike a Samsung or Apple phone. I still get ewws and awws everytime someone sees me using my phone in public. Thank you Tech Preacher for your awesome videos!
Let's make some sort of fan site or forum, gather as many LG fans and make a noise, grow, get LG to notice, and make a fan-phone even if it's outsourced to someone else lol!! Dammit, I want LG BACK!!!
@@TheTechPreacher oh I gotta get on that!!! I'm on Redit, they've got a section for LG, and separately on G8 and V60. I forgot about telegram. If I search for Tech Preacher on it will I find ya? I'll have a look, and see of I can, and if you guys allow me in haha! 🤗🍻 🍻!!!
Just bought my v60 yesterday coz my LG v50s screen shattered, used and abused that badboy for 3 years and i wasnt replacing it on my own.. That thing's battery life never changed in those 3 yrs😂 and now im new to using the v60 and damn.. The battery is even better than my 50s👍
I've had the V60 for over a year and although I've moved my sim to a pixel 5 for size, this beast is still my go to for anything that isn't a phone call! The quad dac headphone jack makes it a dark horse purchase in an age of no headphone jacks.
The internet is confusing for every positive review i can find a negative i love this phone. Sometimes i think people post negative content just for the traffic it will draw. This phone is still my daily driver.
I lost my V60 last week to river water damage. Had it for 4 years!!!T-Mobile insurance gave me a S20+. It's cool and different, but man do I just miss my V60 soooooo bad. There's just so much charm about it that fit my personality and needs perfectly. I want to buy one, when it gets dirt cheap or when I get spare money worthy for it. Gosh I love the V60. Never had a dual screen, but it wasn't something for me anyway. LG COME BACK WITH THE V SERIES❤ P.s. I think I was the only one to ever have a V60. Everyone I knew had IPhone and mid grade samsungs
Wow I'm sorry you lost your LG v60. The cool thing is the LG v60 is not an expensive device to buy. I would say if you like the v60 buy another from Amazon and sell the s20 plus you probably break even no loss but you will gain your baby back. Good luck and thanks for watching I really appreciate it
You are right, that why I still use everyday a LG g6 Plus, still looks like new, solid performance, when the battery dies, i'll go V60, which I have, also have a old g3 stylus, still working, and use it as my alarm clock. The carrier calls me every month, trying to sell me the latest Iphone or samsung, poor hopeless souls.
I got updated to 13 August 2023. I was worried about not having anymore updates for the security patch, little at ease now after watching your video😊 Thanks
I bought my LG V60 new. It is still my daily driver every day. Get 1.5 2 days on original battery. Love this phone. When I need to, Mr. Preacher, I will ask what you think is the best replacement. But not quite yet!
As long as it supports the applications and still updated, it is cool sir. I recently donwgraded my LG V60 to Android 10 and man still working fine that justifies what I need. Thanks for keeping the LG V60 alive with your videos sir :))
Lg v60❤❤ Two for me,one for my girlfriend, two for my bestfriends, all bought from AliExpress for less than 200€ each one,all Korean version with 256 internal memory!! Although on Android 10 (not updated),all of them work FINE. Completely loved and great phone❤❤ From Athens-Greece😉
Great video! My favorite is still the V20 and I still use it as a daily driver on weekends and time off, but My V60's run the main show and they do it well! Thanks for another Very Relevant LG presentation!
Yes sir... LG V60 still.! At the moment if it crumbles and fails me I'm considering your suggestion of replacing it with the Pixel 8 Pro or the S24 Ultra... Untill then... PEACE✌🏼
I have a OnePlus 12 and an S24 ultra but here I am watching this on my S21 Ultra because I love this phone. It's snappy, and just the right size. Keep on doing you sir
A perfect video. In May 2020, my LG G8 had some issues and LG replaced it with the V60 due to lack of G8 replacements. It's now 4 years later and the V60 has been perfect. The battery life is still good, but has lost a bit on its fastball. I worry about getting a quality replacement battery when the time comes. So much junk out there. The V60 is an exceptional phone. I use the 3.5mm jack everyday...and also its 32-bit Hi-Fi QuadDAC. I absolutely need its expandable storage...a Sandisk 1tb card that I bought on a Best Buy Deal of the Day for $97. The camera and video are exceptional...especially if you learn to master the manual settings. Because of the presence of the V60, I don't know what a "modern" smartphone looks like, or the benefits? Is it faster? Are downloads faster? does it render faster? I do know that I do things wrong, and the V60 keeps coming back for more. I charge it overnight to 100%. I use it while charging. Yet I'm not punished. All of our use cases are different. I need a 3.5 mm jack. I need expandable storage. I need to charge while listening to podcasts and music. The V60's 1080p screen is sharper than a Samsung Galaxy 23 Ultra's screen. It's sharper than the LG G8's 2K screen. I can't imagine how exceptional LGs new phones would be like today if they they hadn't gotten out of the game. If anybody has ever had their battery replaced, please post the brand and results.
@@TheTechPreacher I wish that LG would contract with their V60 battery supplier to produce the genuine OEM batteries. It would be a great service and thank you to their loyal customers.
I had the LG v60 for about 3 months now and still love it. Its an emulation beast for gaming and I can either use the LG Dualscreen gamepad or a type-C game controller like a Backbone controller. Most PS2 games runs really well and got to finish like over half of the library that I have on the microSD card. Its also an excellent music player and watching movies & streaming TV shows from Netflix for example is a great mini-theatre experience with the P OLED display. This phone actually surprised and impressed a few coworkers of mine. Like some never heard of the phone or seen a dualscreen phone before. They've seen folding phones before which is different. Their minds was blown when I took out the phone from the case and they were like "what? how? Is it two phones or one? Then I had to explain. One of them who's also a friend of mine is planning to get the phone because of me. Another reason to have this phone is to upstage people in public lol. Overall I just love how the LG v60 feels. The gorilla glass, the dualscreen case and all. Feels legit & premium in your hands. I was lucky I got this phone (phone & dualscreen) for about a little over $170 back in December. For anyone that have the LG v60, keep it and never get rid of it as long as it works. Its a hidden gem.
Tech Preacher--quick technical question: I love my V60 and use it every day just as a sort of small tablet, WiFi and Bluetooth only, no SIM card in it so no cell phone use or mobile data. I've had it for around a year and I can tell that its battery is slowing a bit. Now my question is, just to maximize the future longevity, I've been running it in permanent battery saving mode AND Airplane mode (WiFi and BT on as needed). As far as I know the Airplane mode turns off the cell/mobility radio altogether but I'm wondering if this makes sense to do to maximize battery life, beyond the other obvious stuff--i.e., turn down the screen brightness, etc.
I finally retired mine due to the buggy handoff between wifi-calling and cellular. It required a reboot whenever I lost wifi on a call. I needed wifi calling at my last job due to poor cellular in the building. Otherwise, still a solid phone in 2024.
@@TheTechPreacherLove your shirt brother God bless America and you're an LG home dog just like me always have been but your shirt really made you have made me happy seeing you wearing that everybody's hating on our country right now I love it that your supporting stay strong brother LG forever
Please The Tech Preacher, don't mean to bug ya, I would like a test review on Call of duty war zone (not mobile) on the LG V60 thinq 5g, I just want to get your take cause it means a lot to me, any lags? or over heating? Or anything, but if you can't it's OK, I will always understand, thanks for been my top 4 best smartphone reviewer❤, keep rocking
I used my LG V20 for the last 7 years and just about a month ago I decided to get a new one and chose to get a Nubia Red Magic Pro 9 and like I told my dude it's been so long since I've gotten a new device everything with this phone amazes me from gaming performance to the cameras and yes one of the main selling points in this phone to me was the flat front display and most definitely flat back, NO CAMERA HUMPS, lmao, and like I said everything amazes me with this but you are correct the sound in my LG V20 with the ESS Quad DAC is the best sounding phone I've ever used, owned or came upon from someone else and it's not even close, this phone claims to have Qualcomm Hi Rez audio 32bit output and it's got nothing on the V20, although I will say in gaming mode the sound is pretty impressive
Love ur video man I dont really know y people complains so much I have an lgv20 with android 7 still and iam gd😂 RU-vid and whatsap and all my google apps r still working with their latest updates and my screen is still awesome And for a plus its got a removable battery and a heaphone jack wich ilove Keep it up my man
Being an avid LG fan I've tried V60 4 times and would try it a 5th, 6th time..... V60 #1: in pristine physical condition, did everything it was supposed to, BUT, it suffered from charging issues. V60 #2: seller cancelled transaction V60 #3: seller cancelled transaction (wwhhaat?) V60 #4: it was sold as unlocked, it wasn't. They all went back and my V60 Dual Case is still waiting for an inhabitant. I'm not giving up but it seems they are getting scarce and I will not buy a Hong Kong/China version.
LG phones have always suffered from charging issues. I had the V20, V30 and now the V60, but the V60 seems the the worst so far. I can pretty much only use wireless charging, because fast charging straight up doesn't work and normal charging is unreliable. (sometimes having it on the charger actually drains the battery!)
Charging that actually drained the battery was the issue with V60 #1. The only charging issue I've encountered besides that V60, was my V20, however, this problem started after 6+ years of service. I think charge port loosened. This I can forgive.
Thank you TechPreacher! I am so sorry that I traded in my V60 hoping to get the Galaxy fold 4, only to be told $1000 deposit before the payment plan. I am now looking for a V60 on Ebay or amazon, so I can return to the dual screen experience. Amen brother!
Still got mine and keeping it for sho!!! This LG V60 is unbreakable, to stand the test of time. Awesome video brother Tech Preacher!!! I have to ask, where can I find the Star Trek wallpaper? Thanks.
Tech Preacher--Thank you for all your videos and great philosophy! All I can say is that I agree 1000%. My V60 EARNED its place at the TOP of my chain. Why? Because, when, amongst all the DAPs, PCs, Laptops, tablets and phones I own it is the FIRST one I grab because it does it ALL and does it RIGHT and it does it FAST! What more can I say? THE BEAST!!!
Summarize on my perspective: - V60 used to be cheap, now mega cheap (quality is questionable at that price) - All aspects of a normal phone: call, mess, work, game. They're all there, and very easy to use with LG "minimalism" design (or "boring" if you are haters or got urself a knock-off from a slum factory in China) - Battery used to be mega great, now great (10h+ screen on time with normal use, camera involved will still get through a day at around 7-8h) - Audio quality: speakers are decent, do what it should do as a "4-year-old Ancient Flagship Dinosaur". Wired audio will give you a smile on the face via Deezer, Tidal or Qobuz. Also, the "true" audio experience is not that easy to achieve, since some software version will glitch and not deliver the quality that users are looking for. Believe me, if you somehow get to experience the thing I call "true sound" (like "true tone" of iphone), you will definitely be blown away by the chords chipping through your ears and bring which people in the LG community usually joke about - "The Eargasm" --> Long story short, your choice bruh. I'm a fellow degenerate fan boy after all. But those Samsungs I bought for my dad are nice too. Freak the iPhone
Hey man what you said about the LG V60 is true. I upgraded to the OnePlus 12r but kept the V60 as well the last of the LG flagship phones. That's why I chose the OnePlus 12 because like LG you get bang for the buck and whit the flagship spec. Thank you for revisiting the last of the Samsung challengers. This phone was done right. That's why I saved mine. Post on good man.
I got rid of my LG V60 about a year ago because I purchased a Samsung S22 Ultra. 😔 I MISS IT SOOOO MUCH. Tried to remedy the absence with the One Plus Nord N30. It's not the same. SO, I went on Ebay and purchased a NEW LG V60 that's arriving from China in about 3 weeks..and I'll sell the S22 Ultra. Eco ATM offered me $215 for my S22 Ultra even with the crazy screen burn. I'll take it! Can hardly wait for the reunion with my V60. 😀
Watching on my LG V60 I got few months ago. I had Vivo S1 pro before (SD 665). The difference in speed is night and day. Everything is much better on V60. I got the midrange phone for roughly $320. Now I got v60 for $170. Funny thing is that I got them at the same local price: 48000 pkr Thanks to rapid inflation.
I eventually did go ahead and buy a google pixel fold. But I couldn't bare to part with my V60 so I kept it as a second line and I still daily drive it over my $1800 fold 😂
I laugh so hard when I hear people who haven't got a CLUE about software and how it works who say "ah, but it's not the latest Android update!" what? Do they read the update code A to Z? Ridiculous. It's just another "scammy" thing that rushes us to spend more money.
These devices last awhile. Lg g8, g8x, velvet ( I don't have a v60), Samsung S10+, note 10+, s21+, z flip 3, a34, Razer phone 2, Moto edge 2022, Moto edge 30 fusion... I love all of them. The idea of being stuck with a brand new phone on contract for 2,3 years( att)....no. I'd rather have several,2,3,4 Year old phones from Amazon.
still have my V60 but as a backup phone, it's still good but mine is stuck with Androind 11 and can't upgrade for some reason, so some apps are not that good anymore like google maps, camera is still great on good lighting conditions, V60 was so good it's hard to decide what would be my next phone, but now I'm using the 2023 Sony Xperia 1V as my daily driver--camera manual mode, headphone jack, SD card, lighter and slimmer to my hand. how about the audio? still LG for me. Still hoping LG will make a comeback.
I just got rod of this phone for samsung s24 ultra... I miss my headphone jack so much!!!! My v60 stopped charging because the port wore out. I will say the samsung is amazing in it's own way
Has anyone tried the newer launcer updated Windows X launcher for foldables on the V60 with the dual screen yet!? If so let a brother know your experience! Appreciate you/it! Keep making these great videos my brother I can't get enough of them 😂
Eazy still doing LG V60 reviews in 2024. It's going to be 2030 and he's still going to be talking about this relic 😏😆. I still like The Tech Preacher. I ain't hatin'.
It's not just about the v60. I'm sure other people have their own v60.... Maybe it's a Note 9. Or the LG Wing or v50. Some people are hanging on to the pixel 4A or the s10e until the wheels come off. Or the Note 20 ultra. The point is, you don't have to give up on the stuff you really like just because there are some fancy new product out there.
I love my v60. I love music and the sound on this is QUALITY! I've had it since it came out but i am willing to put $ into fixing the broken backing and the charging port. I'd rather put in $200 to fix it rather than spen $1000+ for a new phone. Any place to get a good battery?? The ones from amazon have terrible reviews and seem to not survive a year. My battery still lasts but by the end of the day its basically drained
Nice video. I'm still using my LG V60 with dual screen, bought it used and have been using it more than a year now. Would love to see a comparison of the LGV60 (LG's last phone with a Quad DAC) vs. the new Moondrop MIAD01.
The only con I have to say about my V60 is the flimsy USB-C port, the same one that allows me to use desktop mode, and connect peripherals like a mouse, keyboards, USB drives, mics, the dual display case, and so on. Not even the Pixel allows to connect a display to it. Also, maybe losing some of the functionality from LG apps and services like the theme engine which could've been nice to keep. Everything else? Well, there's a reason why I've bought this phone twice and haven't replaced it with a newer one. It is that good. It's so complete. While I might think this year to replace it with a newer device, I'm also thinking of buying the dual display case to have the complete experience before that happens.
I've heard a few people complain about this but it's never impacted me. I did have a few moments where I had unexplained standby battery drain and have to do a factory reset. Some people suggested it might have been the port but I did a lot of troubleshooting and I ruled it out. And I use the dual screen on and off constantly. But I don't know. I guess we're all just dealing with the sample size of one. Or maybe two.
I'm trying to decide whether to replace my V60's with another V60 or something else? I'm on my second one because the first one was ran over. When my husbands phone quit working i gave him my shattered first V60. He has used it for months there is a hole the size of a nickel where the glass screen is completely gone. And just recently two vertical lines of dead pixels have appeared. The screen on my new one is shattered too and we need to replace them both. So at this point is it worth it to buy another V60 or switch to something more up to date.
My favorite phone of all time. How about a video about a possible replacement that could live up to at least mist of the features of this phone. Love my dual screen btw! Great videos. ..Mel
It's almost the polar opposite with Android. The less you spend -- older phones, budget phones -- the more features you get. Chargers and expansion to storage, fm radio,
Somebody tried to rob my Samsung S20 FE, I looked to replace it with this cellphone as I really love to listen music with quality and the sound in the Samsungs is a bit dull in comparison to my DAP. Sadly the second market seems to have units whose parts have been replaced by re-sellers, a sort of domestic refurbisheds. In the end I got a Galaxy Note 10+ which to my surprise is quite good (but normal in music) and thanks to the find my phone option I got my Samsung S20 FE back.
The fact that there are still no new smartphones today that have the same amount of hardware features as the V60 shows how much LG truly dares to be different from the norm. Even if you take out the optional detachable Dual Screen case from the equation, I still don't see any new smartphones that have a 3.5mm headphone jack with built-in Quad DAC, microSD card slot, active stylus support, and DeX-rivalling Desktop Mode all wrapped up together. Sony does still keep the headphone jack and the card slot, but you have to sacrifice the DAC, stylus, and Desktop Mode. Samsung does give stylus and Desktop Mode for S2x Ultra and Z Fold, but you have to sacrifice the headphone jack and microSD card slot for both phones. So really, there's still no phone like the V60 and I totally doubt we would see something like it ever again. For genuinely real tech enthusiasts like us, we do really want LG to come back to the smartphone market. There's still a huge chance for such a thing.
