Hi there! Could you please give another update if you don’t mind. I have searched the internet for hoursss this week and visited numerous stores…. So nervous to “pull the trigger” and purchase a set because it seems they all “suck” these days 🥴 This set and the new whirlpool smart feature with removable agitator are top of my list…. Have my reservations about the removable agitator though on that one :/ I saw a comment above mentioning the dryer that worries me…. Any issues with that?
Im in the same boat as you :/ hours on internet and in several stores. I almost was going to go basic mew whirlpool models since The removable agitator they say is a gimmick its basically an impeller . I like the LG worried with being told mixed reviews as well. did you end up making a choice?
The yellow peace in the dryer on the back is where the steam comes out of for the steam feature. the drying sensor is on the front of the dryer were the lint catcher is it’s on the opposite side where you pull the lint catcher out
We have the same set for about a year. A few months ago we noticed black spots on clothes. We thought maybe a crayon got into the washer. Fast forward a few months and it’s worse. Turned out to be the dryer. The vent tube inside the dryer has a very lose fit and isn’t sealed. This allows lint to build up inside the dryer cabinet. The lint coated the heating element heat shield and actually caught fire over and over as it was recoated with lint. The vent tube was clear and I only found this internal lint build up by opening up the dryer. Do yourself a favor and look at yours before you have the same issue we had
@@nesreenabdelfattah5342 No mine doesn't have a bad smell. I keep the rubber clean and dry.. Also leave the door of the machine partially open so that it can dry out completely. These steps work for me.. Even when I had a top loader, I would always leave the lid open so it could properly dry out therefore eliminating any chance of odor problems.
@Prime Weaker I said in my comment that is was over 5 years and the machine is actually 8 years old and never a problem (so far that is). But I know what you mean.
@@vacuzman Smart to keep the door open to allow for drying; however, I think a top load washer is better because theres less of a need to keep the door open. And if you want to keep the lip open on a top load, it at least isnt in your way like a front load. I dont really see what the benefit of a front load washer is, unless you need to stack your machines.
Thank God I clicked on this video. We are about to order the newer version of these washers and I had no idea that we needed to use special liquids marked "HE" for high efficiency. Thank you for excellent information!
Thank you for your video!!! Our 10yo GE washer stopped spinning last Saturday and so I started looking on You Tube for best washers /dryers etc. We decided to go with LG from all the great reviews and then top loader because of all the reviews of odor/mold of front loaders. Based on THIS video we purchased the LG7900 washer and dryer from Best Buy on 12/31/2020 (that’s the one most similar to yours cause I couldn’t find your model and this beautiful Black Steel color)... they are coming TODAY!! So excited!! Thanks a million for your honest review and discussing the features. 👍🏽
@@Luissauceda13 Hi 👋🏽, to be honest no we didn’t like the washer. Our whites just didn’t seem like they were being cleaned. We had a 4yo and 5yo at the time of purchase and their clothes were just NOT being cleaned with the 7900. Chocolate stains washed out seemlessly via hand with minimal effort but did NOT wash out with the 7900! Dirty white socks remained dirty after the wash. My heart was broken. We tried downloading different cycles, changing detergents, adding more bleach, less bleach, using Clorox colorsafe bleach, talking to the LG techs to see if maybe we received a dud machine, etc. to see if that was it and it wasn’t. In the end, we kept the 7900 DRYER - LOVE THAT THING! - and returned the 7900 washer for the LG7305 Washer with the agitator. That has done a better job at cleaning the kid’s clothing than the 7900 but still pales in comparison to our old GE model. Boy do I miss that washer! For us, the agitator machine does a better job than the non agitator model. I’ll be honest in saying that for the money we paid, the washer should be more POWERFUL. The mechanism that causes the rotations during washing, should move faster- like my old machine for example did a “twist and shout” dance- this machine does more of a “WALTZ dance”. 😁 Overall I’m content with this washer. Not over the moon as I thought I’d be but I love the size, the features (though I confess to using the deep wash with deep fill options almost all the time), and those ThinQ features! I love getting a report email monthly of my usage and reminder to do a tub clean. So I’d say I’m content with our purchase for now. Thanks for following up! 👍🏽
I have this exact same washer and dryer for the last two years. I'm going to get rid of it and get one of the lg front loaders. I can only get this one to wash my clothes clean on heavy load. This machine has a hard time removing odors from clothes and I don't like the lint catcher on the dryer it doesn't do a good job removing lint and clogs really fast during the run cycle where I have to clean it twice. it defiantly saves money I do like that the dryer has a heat pump instead of traditional heating elements.
We bought this and I just used it for the first time today, it's shocking how little water it's using, decided to check out some videos on RU-vid found yours, and you confirmed it uses very less water, but let's see after the wash, I have to see it to believe it that it uses such less water and the clothes are still clean 😀
@@AequitasSaints it was very clean, I was very surprised, but psychology you'll never be satisfied cause you're so used to seeing clothes under water in your previous machines, in this machine, in normal mode you'll not be able to even see the water, so I use deep wash mode, that uses a lot more water, but overall it still uses very less water compared to other machines. It's worth every penny
I loved your video!!,. Got mine today..question..is there anyway for the dryer light to come on automatically when the dryer is done and I open the door? Seems like the light should be automatic even when dryer is off..but I can't find anything on it...
Does the steam feature on the dryer even work? Mine shoots out a stream of water then maybe a quick burst of water like a power washer then back to stream. Put one dry shirt in to test and it came out with a big water spot on it.
Please, I would like to know the programs that you use, i.e. for white, light and dark colors, and winter clothes such as wool, silk, kitchen and bathroom towels, and the appropriate temperatures for each type of washing, how many rinses, and how strong the squeeze is. And put powder may, if the laundry is very dirty and medium soil And you clean it every time, and you clean the washing machine with any
Mine has wifi technology to my phone to operate and diganose . Also tells you when to tell you to wash screen with cold water for dryer and also tub clean cycle it notifies. LGTHINQ is the app. LG is always above the rest
you're going to love it. But make sure to put some protection plan on it. I added 5 years protection plan from Best buy so anything happens within the next 5 years from the day of purchase I do nothing but call Best buy. this gives you some peace of mind for 5 years to enjoy your machine.🙏
@Ryan Graham I didn't purchase it after all. The price was too high everywhere I went. I should have purchased the set over the summer when they were on sale like at $700 each but they weren't available at the time in the Lowe's warehouse. I had my quote ready and everything. Now I'm looking at prices each week at all appliance stores here in Dallas to see where the set will be on sale next. I refuse to pay $2000 for any washer and dryer. I just can't.
7 years ago, a friend gifted me my first LG appliance. Today, this LG washer began showing an LE error code and they want to charge me $350 to “service” it to see if they can fix it… I will simply replace it with the old washer that worked just fine…
yes, I have a king size bed in my room and queen size bed in my daughter room this machine is very big for the king and queen comforter. but make sure to wash only the comforter do not mix up with anything this will help the machine to operate very well because the comforter gets very heavy when it is wet
@@Loverofengines101 Great thanks. It looks like it really wash and rinses very well compared to other plate agitation I have seen with other brands. Have you compared to a front load as per if one is better than the other?
I do not like front load washer because of my back problem, but to me this is the best washer and dryer. going to 3 years now everything is running great with 4 kids in the house
@@Loverofengines101 please can you confirm yout washer's model number, on lg video i have seen almost all people regretting to buy that washer and they are very angry, that machine looks the same what i want to buy but model number was not mentioned there, please let me know the model, i want to buy t2028 afps5 and i don't know its the machine showed on lg video that people don't likr or it's your which you are happy with or another one...or all the three are same...i need help
Just bought a pair love it so far...only one thing i want to have the door open from top but it only goes a little ways ...is there something i press to open it fully please the dryer that is ...lol
your dryer has two ways to open the door. 1_ to load the dryer press the center of the door and pull. Remember this door only opens 1/2 way. 2_ to unload the dryer pull from the left side and the door will fully open. I hope this helps 🙏
My Kenmore Elite washer went out but the Kenmore Elite dryer still work and debating should I replace the dryer too so it be a matching pair of LG. Did you get the LG washer?
I have these exact models bought them new Nov 2020. Getting error code OE which is not draining. Believe pump is bad but for not even 2 yrs old not good. I had a set of whirlpools lasted 10 yrs no issues only bought these because wifey wanted upgrade. I miss my whirlpools
We are a family of 6, doing laundry every weekend and sometimes the kids do laundry 2-3 times a week but even with that our set of washer/dryer still works great.
I have been looking for a video for this washing machine my husband bought brand new open box and Manuel’s so I have been wondering what’s that blue thing is for. My husband thought it was like my old washer where water comes out so you can spot treat and sort of hand wash spots on clothes please can you share that if you know what it’s for please I would gladly be appreciated thanks
Hello - the blue thing you’re talking about is just an automatic water jet for final rinse of the clothes while washing. There’s no option to leave the washer open to spot clean because it automatically locks once you start the cycle. I hope this helps.🙏🏽
Hi I am new to using the dryer, and I do not know what programs are suitable for clothes, so can you tell me your experience in choosing the appropriate programs for cotton clothes, underwear, children’s clothes, outdoor clothes, delicate clothes and heavy clothes, and I want the drying time to be not too long so that the clothes do not perish
If I have to go back and buy new washers and dryer I will buy LG. almost 6 years now and this washer and dryer are still working great. in my house I have 4 girls and a dog
What is that blue round ball looking thing to the right of the laundry detergent inside the washing machine? It looks like some type of water jet but if that’s what it is, how do you turn it on?
I’m interested in buying something similar to yours however I don’t have experience with an electric dryer. Is yours electric? If so, can you comment on if it works well compared to a gas dryer? Is it expensive to operate? Thanks in advance
@@SilverbugInc to me this is one of the best dryer I have ever seen I have no problem with this so far everything works great my family loves it so much
@@Loverofengines101 I am indeed looking at this set. But I have no experience with electric dryers. At the moment, I’m trying to see if it’s worth adding a gas line to the new house we’re moving to since there’s only an electrical connection for a dryer. I’ve heard that the dryers are expensive to operate and want to get an idea of how true that is
looking to get one on black friday ( can you full ) the water up if you want. looking at the reviews on this washer 80% are bad why ? lowes and home depot reviews are so bad
I got it from Best Buy back in 2018 up to today I have no problem with my washer and dryer, my wife and I have 4 kids and the kids use this machine all the time
hey thanks for the great review ! wanting to buy that set, wondering if we can soak just like with older washer we used to have in the past ? Cause i know they are HE and are made to use strictly the good amount of water, but can we soak at the level of water we need if we want ?
EMMANUEL ONECAR GARAGE ok, that’s so cool. I know ppl from Liberia and Ivory Coast. Yes I am! I’m a African American from NY. My parents are from Guyana, S.A. We consider ourselves Caribbean because of our connection. We are the only English speaking country in South America! Much love dear.
Can you fit a king sized bedding along with the comforter? I think that's the same set that Consumer Report said it has a recommended rating. (model WT7900HBA)
