I couldn't reach the power plug in the back of the washer so I turned off power at the circuit breaker panel. Did exactly what you said and it powered on! Wow! You saved at least several tens of thousands of dollars for people! Thank you again!!
You are my hero today! I had a horrible case of the Mondays. Started off with my truck breaking down. Two hours later I was up and running headed to work super late , then my wife calls saying our washer is broke (same exact washer as you). Not only are you a life saver, but you possibly saved my house from burning down. Electrician put my washer on a GFI. The plug has a little green light saying all is good. Unplugged washer, did your reset. Came up power supply problem. Couldn't be. Everything is fine. Did another reset and heard a fuzzy buzzing sound from the GFI. Plugged in a hand mixer, (it was close in the kitchen, don't judge people) it would work randomly. The plug was bad. Thank you.

Tried it…and it worked…this should be the absolute first step! Even better than disconnecting the power in back…because often, moving it to get access to the electric outlet, just stat by turning off the breaker at the electric panel, and go through the steps she describes! Then put the breaker back on. Thank you for posting this video.
We’ve had this same washer and matching dryer for 9years with little, to no issues. Today power stopped working to washer. Checked breaker, no luck. Used another plug, no luck. Husband spazed out thinking we were going to have to buy new one. I searched on here for solution and lo and behold, your video. Tried it and took all of 15 seconds and boom, like new. Yes saw your video and now my washer runs too! It would of cost me the same to have a repair man come out and probably do the same thing and charge me the $150 bucks to do the same thing or something else! Guess what people who thumbs downed the video - It works. A simple 10 second reset fixes the problem. That's confirmed because our machine did exactly the same thing. Thank to the video, we fixed it 10 seconds.

You are the best! I start laundry every weekend at 4:00am. Put a load in in the evening and start at 4:00am but this time nothing. Went back to bed bummed out because I was gonna have to shell out 1k for a new washer. Told wife we were going shopping for a new washer. This is the one. Her fix works. If you can't have audio: 1. Unplug 2. Hold power button for 5 seconds 3. Hold start button for 5 seconds 4. Plug back in Thanks for the share!
OMG!!! This is frieken amazing!!! Our washer stopped working yesterday and given the current conditions of everything shutting down/self-quarantines, we were very concerned how/when we were going to get our washer fixed and getting ready to wash clothes by hand!! Wow. An hour messing around reading the manual and assuming it was a fuse in the motherboard. Then watched your RU-vid video and applied the reset and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much and this should be added to the manual.

Great thing about this fix, it applies to many of their washer products. I have a newer model with many bells and whistles. I was all set to replace the control board in it, but learned of this fix. I don't have press buttons, but touch sensitive buttons. The fix is the same. Unplug and hold the touch sensitive power button for 5 seconds and then the start or play button for 5 seconds. Worked like a champ! Thanks for the video!

Holy crap this worked I have already changed the motherboard in this machine once before and I was about to break it open this video was playing when I came in from the garage with tools after watching another video thank you for posting this video...

Iam a Technician that services these and I was not aware of this LG never told us anything about this thank you very much now I can save my customers a big bill instead of replacing the board I have been doing this service for 21 years and not 1 trainer from LG ever told us this

I'm sure there is a repair in my future since this has happened again a long time after the first "failure", but for the moment I'm just happy to be able to do my laundry :) You definitely paid it forward by putting this out there.
Yeah, if you need to perform this reset multiple times, it's almost guaranteed that your main PCB is shot and needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, LG discontinued the part as soon as they were legally allowed to do so (some say that the company did so "a little earlier"). Some day soon, you'll be like me - the owner of a very expensive, very large... doorstop. If this model was an automobile, LG would have had to buy back about 80% of them. Sadly, it isn't, and we all got bent over the proverbial chair on this one. All you can do is never, ever, ever buy another LG ANYTHING. And tell your friends/neighbors/relatives.
