I grew up decades ago in a homophobic place, it was very hard to come out back them and not well received. I am glad that it is easier for others nowadays it gives me hope. I send you a hug from the distance and let you know that you are Ok, don't let anyone convince you otherwise. Love!
When I told my parents my mom started laughing and said "yeah I know it was pretty obvious. Thank you for telling me. I'm proud of you, I love you no matter what" and my dad said "proud of you, love you"
i told my dad when I was like 8 (I'd known since I was like 5/6 like when you just know) And my dad said "Oh, if you liked women and men. You would have known when you were younger" YEAH DAD I did. Sorry for my little rant

These people are so lucky to have parents that accept them as who they are. I’m really scared to come out to my family because not a single one of them accepts people in the lgbt community. Also, even in other things my parents weren’t supportive of me, and this might be their last straw.
If you're in an unaccepting environment i'd advise not coming out to them yet. Maybe test teh waters even more and see how willing they are to change their minds regarding other things first but for now if you think this would be the last straw don't do it. Your safety is the most important.
Same with me like it more hard with me bc I'm always the trouble one always hiding something from them and figuring out my sexuality makes me hell emotional bc I don't have that support

I came out as lesbian to myself a couple of months ago after constantly convincing myself I'm not, mainly because I was afraid.And in 3 years if my sexual orientation is the same then I'll come out completely to my friends and family. I came out to one of my friends yesterday, and I said if she had questions, it was okay to ask, and asked her to be honest on whether or not she supported me. She said she supports me and has no questions on my gender or sexuality. I told her my pronouns and she's so supportive! 🥺

I'm passing through a hard time since my mom found out I'm gay. It has been like two months now and she still tries to degay me. The only people that actually gave me support was my apsent now present father and close friends

It is heartbreaking... very difficult to be rejected by your own blood because of who you are. I see hope as times go by that it is more and more accepted worldwide although I know that there are homophobic cultures out there
my mom was more like "yea i support you no matter what and I'm a huge ally, i have 2 trans brothers! i really don't care what other ppl do with their lives, but I'm still gonna call u aud and she/her. like idk if you're a lesbian. are u sure ur trans? i just don't get bi either, how can someone like both?" and so here i am, out as a cis bicurious girl... grew my hair out and went back in the closet (my dad doesn't even know, he would kick me out or worse)
I tried to change my parent's perspective regarding lgbtq... my mom had always been the most supportive one... but this time she wasn't. She was against it... she treated it as a mental disorder a first world mental issue... my heart broke inside as I knew I would never be able to come out to her. My dad on the other hand, who had always been someone strict and reserved... he just said that as long as I am financially stable and happy he really doesn't care whether I am in a relationship, who I love or anything.
Happy for you I can't exactly figure out what I am right now and I'm kinda scared because my parents don't believe me about a lot of things. Right now I can't figure out if I'm ace, gay, straight or maybe all of the above no joke. I’ve always been extremely homophobic. But today I was reading the Bible and started thinking about it. I’ve come to realize being homophobic is just as bad as being gay. Being homophobic is very hateful and hate is a sin. Jesus loves everyone no matter who they are or what they do. So why don’t I? I’m no longer homophobic as today I’ll treat everyone with equal respect and love even if I don’t agree with them. I’m still the same person. I still believe that there is 2 genders. The only thing that has changed is my opinion on people. God bless you

We had our first baby at 69 and 39 years old. We have a very interesting story. We met during COVID. Got married and had a baby all during COVID. We have a 30 year age gap and we are lgbt 🙂
Help I just came out to my whole class!! We were talking about communication barriers, the one we were talking about being beliefs. I said "someone could support gay rights and the other disagree and then they argue." A kid replied "I don't like gays" I said: "guess you don't like me then🤷" MANY PEOPLE SAW THAT... They replied with stuff like "but ur a girl" "u les?" "Guess you don't like me either" a girl got on the mic (same girl who said u les) and said some of you are nasty, [teacher name] you should close the chat THAT CLASS HAD 67 PEOPLE IN IT! (Ps the teacher kicked me out of the zoom meeting) I think the teacher is gonna tell the other teachers and they're gonna call my parents HELP
I really want to come out to my parents, they said I can talk about ANYTHING to them. Both did. Though my family’s religion is Christian but my mom said she doesn’t hate LGBTQ+ people but idk about my dad.. Though I will try soon. If they need to stress the fact that they're accepting, they're not. At least in my experience, they seemed very unsupportive of any new age thing, yet told me that I can talk to them about anything. I see them as untrustworthy and am very quiet at home.

Im literally sobbing rn because i know my parents aren't going to react that way. Its so scary watching queer people in my country loosing everything and people going as far as killing others who are SUSPECTED to be gay. ...my parents support this and a lot of people around me also do. Im planning to tell them when im out of the country or anywhere safe.
I resent decided to never come out to my parents. I already know their reaction. Im just gonna let them find out on their own. Im sick and tired of the stress from “hiding”. I already made plans with other family members, in case my parents do find out and kick me out.
I have no Idea how I should feel, I'm so happy to see people have supportive parents and being themselves, but the fact I came out half a year ago to my Homophobic parents upsets me. The next day they asked me if I changed my mind. I wanted so much to tell the truth, but I lied because I want still to have their love for me. my coming out was involuntary and watching these makes me happy and cry at the same time knowing i couldn’t choose when or how i came out to my parents. i think they support it but i’m not quite sure. my parents didn’t really get it i guess cuz they were kinda mad i didn’t tell them and kept it hidden (i didn’t come out cuz my grandparents are homophobic and i was still trying to fully figure out my sexuality) to this day i don’t like talking about it. i don’t like talking about celebrity crushes i have or anything. i wish i could’ve had the opportunity to come out on my own terms cuz if i had i don’t think i would still be this self conscious about what i might say that could give people the wrong idea or hide my phone screen when i’m looking at pictures of girls on shows i have crushes on.
My mom always tells me that she wouldn’t be upset if I liked a boy or a girl, but I’m scared to tell her that I like who I like. I mean I’m kind of in a crisis because I’m not sure if I like boys or girls. I would like to like girls more than boys but then again idk if I would call myself bisexual…so yeah lol

I'm happy these people's parents accept them. I came out as trans to my parents and they don't believe it and just say I'm a tom boy. I cut my hair right then and there and they still don't believe me.

for a long time i've honestly saw myself as a broken straight person but i've recently started accepting myself as bi. it's just not 50/50. i guess that's just how it is. watching this makes me be proud to be a bi man in the broader lgbtq culture. only after embracing my own bisexuality have a been able to look back at my life and see how much of a role trying to force myself to conform with male roles and being kinda bad at it has affected my life. my best friend as a kid was a girl and i heard a relative criticise that so i tried to fit in with the boys but i just wasn't made to.🌈🏳️🌈😜😜i hope i always feel free to embrace all my queerness from now on. i'm cisgender with a touch of sugar and that's ok. and i'm pansexual/bi and that's good. sure i mostly like ciswomen but definitely like trans women as well and guys a bit. it's nuanced but not broken. i'm not broken.

Think of all the guys made fun of for not having a girlfriend and being single, how family members always ask when you’re going to get a girlfriend or why you are single, how religious organizations promote marriages from early ages, how pieces of media are full of guys who are depressed until they date a girl and fall in love. Society as a whole tells men to find a girl and get married and for gay guys who never discover themselves due to the lack of any representation or would be in danger if anyone found out they were gay, gay men feel pressured to get married, either because they need to blend in, or because it was the only relationship ever taught to them throughout their childhood. These men can eventually come to term with their identity and this happens at different times for many, including in a marriage.
I support everyone no matter and my heart feels happy when I see parents supporting their children i can't come out because i am very scared but if you don't have someone to support i am here ☺️
