If they taught children that the are people out there who believe in a set of values contrary to the communitys no one would have an issue. However when u force a community to teach it's children that the behaviour is acceptable and that any contrary opinion is just ignorant that is when Government is crossing a line. - Please don't think I am saying this because I am homophobic, I solely interested in alleviation of government control in all aspects of education. That includes religious education.

@@ZeddtheBarbarian I think making them aware that being gay is perfectly OK whilst also encouraging the non gay children to accept them is far better than 'leaving them to work it out on their own'? There's a gut wrenching level of self harm and suicide among LGBT adolescents and leaving them to feel isolated and confused only exacerbates that.

I oppose the blatant promotion of homosexuality and transgenderism is culture, schools and media. I'm and atheist and always have been. I only oppose it because now you can't just tolerate it you now have to promote it. I just want to be left alone but I see it on police cars, in adverts, in schools, in movies and politics. They don't help themselves either with pride parades which look like a big orgy of alcohol, drugs and degeneracy.

If a child doesn't want to attend biology classes on evolution and doesn't want to answer questions about evolution in tests or do homework or projects related to it, we should let them? Religious stupidity has gotten human evolution lessons banned in Pakistan you know.

Maybe the general population should be taught about how homosexuality is natural and common in the animal kingdom. It occurs in ever mammal and and also other animals like insects,birds,etc

@@a81758 No, but we are fundamentally animals who are result of a complex branching process of evolution that happened over tens of millions of years based on countless fossil records and genetic analysis. Same sex behavior is abundantly common in our closest genetic primate the bonobos. Kids should be taught to think logically based on rational scientific facts instead of false, unscientific, oppressive, baseless religious claims and stories.

That's the thing I see most people complain about. The thing is that these lessons absolutely won't teach about sex at all. It will teach that LGBT people and families exist in society through stories. That's it. Nothing perverted.

@@Rationality4Life But let me know if so teach your children that once upon a time there used to be a prince who fell in love with another prince. Do you want to say that there used to be gay people or you want to tell them that there is no problem in falling in love with the people of same sex? Our children are taught about evolution as well but not at an age of four. They are taught about evolution at an appropriate age so that young students can apply their mind and think about that. I don't have any problem with the lesson I've problem with the age at which it's being taught. They can introduce these lessons at 9th or 10th standards. So that the students would have a chance to make a decision about the matter properly.

@@BEDROMAANSAR That's not going to change the kids sexuality though. But I agree with you on the age aspect somewhat. I say age 6 is appropriate. They have modified the lessons in some schools in England now so I'm guessing they might probably be taught at a later age like 5 or 6 now.

@@BEDROMAANSAR why not have a gay character, with historical literary evidence indicates that homosexuality has been prevalent across the Indian subcontinent throughout history, and that homosexuals were not necessarily considered inferior in any way until about 18th century during British colonial rule. Exploring LGBT+ issues in schools from a young age is a positive as some parents do not know how to explain or embarrassed or lack understanding about that community and how they might feel. Children also want to know where babies come from and like the LGBT+ book the text is age appropriate explanation.

@@Slave-of-the-most-merciful no it’s about teaching children that it’s normal to be different and at young age it’s very easy to pick up homophobic, xenophobic and racist views from adults at home it’s about having a safer environment for everyone involved trust me I know. You can’t complain that it infringes on your religious rights while at the same time pursuing a narrative that its “NOT NORMAL” and “Goes against your beliefs”. It’s about teaching children tolerance as I’m sure that’s what the Muslim community wants for themselves. We live in a democratic society and you have to abide by the laws teachings and values of the land and if that isn’t for you go somewhere else it’s that simple.

Sir Amic Varze it’s what’s missing from this country. Modern Britain! The problems in society are related to weak religiosity. The problem arises when barely literate people ONLY know their holy book and not a physics, biology, sociology, ethics, psychology, theology, etc....book. If not religion, then ethics needs to be something that folk are on board with. That with regard to tough dilemmas. My support for religion is particularly based on the ‘common sense/knowledge’ family structure assumed as the ‘ideal type’ in the West. As in two biological parents, married, living under the same roof, responsible for raising any children born of that unit. Other paradigms may ‘exist’, sure but I have no respect for or admiration of them. My problem with religion is regarding regulation. Who decides legitimacy of a religion? Eg Jedi. What about Luciferianism/Satanism??? However, I see aspects of religion like protection of the unborn as very important. Even without theology, I still recognise abortion as inherently ‘evil’. Or at least selfish and irresponsible.

Morality should, all societies in all of time.have made laws in turns of reproduction and public and private decorum.
