We're taking a night time nature walk in Kaneohe Bay with family and friends. Few things are as enjoyable as discovering all the marine life that come out of hiding after dark.
But as much fun as this "show and tell" activity is for the kids, some of the grown ups want to catch and keep something for the dinner table. That's where the throw nets come in to play.
Many are unaware that the art of net throwing was taught to our Hawaiian ancestors by the Japanese. But it is such an important technique to our fishing culture in the islands that it has become completely embraced.
