LGR - The Sims 3 World Adventures Review

This is honestly my favorite expansion pack. I'll play it a ton, get bored, but then a while later im right back at it. That's kind of my pattern with playing the sims 3 in general. Sims 3 sucks me in for a while and I waste hours/days/weeks just playing, I get bored, take a couple month break, and then that sims 3 craving comes back. I'd consider that a success for a game. Even years after it's come out, I still keep coming back to it.

It's funny how people's tastes/interests can be so polar opposite. For me, this expansion pack is, by far and away, the best thing ever created for the Sims. I love the tomb puzzles and it fulfills every Indiana Jones/archaeologist/Egyptologist fantasy I have ever had. It also has great scenery. Zoom down to your Sim's eye level and take a look at the pyramids and Sphinx. At night, they're lit up and quite pretty. (Great for taking a picture to display at home.) During the day, you can see waves of heat rising up from the sand and distant views shimmer out of focus like a mirage.

He said this EP was only worth $25 when it adds 3 new worlds with hundreds of lots, 3 new skills, several items you can interact with, new traits, new lifetime wishes, mummies, etc. Then Island Living should cost $10 because it literally came with just 14 lots, mermaids, a boat, a jet ski and suntanning😭😭

Literally reloading my sims 3 games as we speak. Sims 4 is really a let down

This expansion pack alone has more content than The Sims 4 and all it's game packs/stuff packs combined together.

Dude this makes sims 4 look like str8 ass.. every sims 3 I watch ..

2019 and i've still seen Walmart carrying Sims 3 expansions for $19.99. It's madness I tell you.

I avoided this expansion pack for quite a while because I didn't understand just how much there was to do with the game. I stuck with Late Night and Generations and I was fine with that. Then, I found World Adventures in a thrift store for three bucks. I figured that I'd be able to enjoy it at least a little bit for that small amount of money, but when I began playing it i was like wtf this is super enjoyable and adds so much gameplay. it completely revitalized my sims 3 experience. v happy i found it

It's funny to hear this now after just hearing him rant about how great this game was in comparison to The Sims 4 Jungle Adventure. haha

Oh, little did we know we had it so good back then... T_T I have fond memories of sending my Sims on adventures to all of the vacationing towns, exploring dungeons, buying local-only trinkets and objects and eventually purchasing holiday houses on each town. Add Seasons to the experience and wow - anything The Sims 4 has released so far doesn't even come close to just two Sims 3 Expansion Packs.

Probably one of the coolest expansion for any Sims game.

Watching this feels like History. The Audio Quality, the Editing. The everything.

Classic LGR > Modern LGR Just kidding! LGR is amazing in any era!

I have to say that world adventures is my favourite expansion. I don't know why but I have owned it for four years and still like to come back to the quests.

Personally I love World Adventures. I can understand that it may not be for everyone as the great thing about Sims is that different people can have different playing styles. But for me this pack adds so much to the game that I still haven't used it all. Well worth the price.

I just woohoo'ed every possible sim in every world and learn the songs and recipes from each country. Good expansion for me.

The fact that this was the FIRST expansion pack says a lot about how much more the Sims 3 gave us than the Sims 4. We didn't get Jungle Adventures for literally years after release, and it was lackluster at best - Sims 3 gave us 3 open world locations from around the world, and filled it with tombs, puzzles, special items to collect and people to meet, and what did Sims 4 give us? A closed off world that you couldn't live in (now you can since the Snowy Escape patch I do believe), tombs and puzzles that you can complete in less than 10 minutes, and barely any sims to meet at any location. I recently bought this because I now have the money to afford it (I was 7 when it came out), and it took me a good hour to finish the Langraab Chateau completely, and the Egypt quests and tombs took me hours - I didn't even SCRATCH the surface with what you can do. The only gripe I have with this expansion is that you cannot live here. Then again, it was 2009 so I get why not, and also vacation worlds feel pretty cool in Sims 3, enough that I'm fine with only being there temporarily.

I like sending my newlyweds to France for a honeymoon and I really enjoy my file that I use pretty much solely for WA, but I agree; unless you make a file for the sole purpose of playing WA (which can be really fun if that's what you plan to dedicate that file to, I really like playing my WA file), spending all your time going to the different destinations and doing adventures can actually just hinder your Sims and restrict them.

In defense of this game, it is actually one of my favorite expansions, believe it or not. It is probably because I'm a big history fanatic and I just love creating my own archaeologist Sim and collecting treasures. Treasure hunting is actually pretty profitable if you devote your sim into it. Of course, you will probably have to get a job to save up some money before you start going on adventures, but once you get the wheel turning, selling treasures could get you by. I'm hesitant to say that it's my favorite expansion since it doesn't really add much to the overall game and it's definitely not for everyone. If you don't find the archaeologist lifestyle pleasing, this expansion is actually pretty lame. However, if this kind of thing does appeal to you, I would definitely recommend it.

2019 (summer) and still playing Sims 3! This is also one of my favorite EP's so if you are still on the fence about buying - do get it. The gameplay is so much better than he says and the views are spectacular. Sims 4 has gotten better but not enough to completely draw me away from Sims 3.

World adventures definitely shouldn't've been the first expansion pack. Personally, I think it would have been an incredible send off as the last expansion.

God I love going back and looking at these classic Sims 3 Expansion pack reviews. So many fond memories watching these and playing through them. Back when the expansions weren't as much of a shameless cash grab as they are today ;w;

Here in 2024 because I've been playing Sims 3 since 2012 and still have no idea if I'd regret buying this ep

I loved making a lara croft family and having her plunder all of the tombs and bring artifacts home to her giant mansion. Combined with ambitions she was a genius inventor who made a robot servant and had entire floors of museum like libraries and artifacts... These older packs were my favorite.

I am 26 and this video and the other LGR Sims 3 videos had 13 year old me spend about $200 of Christmas money on Sims 3 expansion packs and DLC in 2010. Damn I need to revisit this game.

I haven't played any of my Sims games for about 2 and a half years. I want to get back in to mediaval since it's practically my favorite (only behind the entire Sims 2 line of games lol)

Um... why does China's logo include a Japanese Shinto Torii Gate? I wasn't aware China did that..

I loved it ... for the first player. The weakness with this expansion was that the objects were unique, so once the first sim completed a tomb, there wasn't much point in anyone else doing it. It would have made much more sense for each tomb to be instanced to each sim. But like I said, I loved it. Yes, it was different than any Sims expansion before or since, but to me, it was like playing a Bethesda game with an ultra-customizable character. Great fun!

This video is still awesome, despite its contemporary technical shortcomings - I've come back to it a few times, and it always makes me want to reinstall Sims 3. And I'm not even that much of a Sims fan!

I kind of skipped TS3 for the most part. Loved TS1 & TS2. 4 has been a constant stream of disappointment so I've decided I'm gonna play 3 instead and buy each pack gradually. Why pay £30+ for a pack that is never as described when I can pay £5 for one that will actually make a difference to the game.

I never had a computer to play sims on as a kid so I only ever played the base game of sims 3 and I always loved it. Now I have sims on Mac and I’m slowly getting all the dlc’s. I can truly say this game will ALWAYS be better than Sims 4. So many memories, and in my case, new experiences! Sims 3 still is still the best sims game ever.

I've been watching all these Sims vloggers talk about how much better Sims 3 was and etc. But the moment you mentioned progressing plotlines and interacting with characters and levels and having an actual point to collectibles, I'm like... ohhhhh... I see now.

I love World Adventures. I guess my favorite location is France. They should have put Japan in there.

I loved this expansion, best one in the sims 3 franchise according to me. 40$ is expensive but I think it was totally worth it, I come back to this game every so often and I still fall back in love with it.

Man, I miss 2009. This is my mom's favorite expansion for TS3. I think it's a good one, but the main thing I liked was the photography. Should've been in the base game though.
