LGR - The Sims 4 Tiny Living Stuff Review 

I think Murphy Beds would've made _way_ more sense in City Living.

most of us live in very tiny apartments, we play the sims to build gigantic houses we can't afford lol

LGR just showed us how Tiny Living was the My First Pet of Eco Living. Everything that he points out is missing here is in Eco Living. COINCIDENCE MUCH?

This pack really proves they’re catering to youtubers instead of customers

Well now I understand the Sims 3 patch note of "the Murphy bed has been made less lethal"

It wouldn't be so frustrating if there weren't spiral staircases and ladders in expansions for *The Sims 1*

Totally agree with the comments. Pack should have included: -bunk beds -ladders -spiral staircases -pull out sofa beds -ottoman beds with storage beneath bed -compact functional storage solutions i.e. under beds/under stairs etc -half size breakfast bars and smaller stools -compact multi functional kitchen items ie half size hob/build in oven and dual microwave/ under counter fridge Interesting pack but it could have been better

I would've loved the ability to own mobile homes or RVs, or be able to live in a van or bus (which has been trending a bit), and they could've added cars as a follow up patch. Trailer parks could be fun too, working like apartments in city living (changing the lot type of certain sized lots to mobile home park, with customization like in this pack), with a more expansive off the grid system that island paradise missed out on. Adding onto this: Townhouses, like apartments but with backyards and such. Dont vibe for the city life of city living, personally, but a string of connected homes rather than having separate lots with neighbors would be nice. Actual grocery stores and supermarkets, malls like the one in Sims Freeplay. Speaking of Sims freeplay, the arcade and carnival and ski resort were fun too. Being able to rent or own a mini apartment above a business... without mods, haha. Cul de Sacs (?), the ability to live rogue (hotels, motels, skipping traintracks because every day is a beautified runaway), multi-generational family homes (having different multiple npc families living like how roommates do in your home... Forrest Gump vibes ♡) and customizable, functional tree houses that act like a mini separate lot for kids/teens to hang out in along with blanket forts (indoor and outdoor) and toddler playhouses would just be as nice too. Actual orphanages, daycares and schools. They have a high school in the Sims freeplay, non rabbit hole, that'd I personally like in Sims 4. As much as I want open worlds, I want customizable world's. 50x50 lots to be downsized at will to, say, smaller 20x20 lots or the ability to remodel the world like in Sims 3. Searching up sims4 fanmade maps, I'd be wonderstricken if we'd actually be able to download and they would work in game. Sigh, I can only hope...

And they saved all those great environmentally-friendly ideas you posited for the newe$t pack that came out yesterday. Looking forward to the LGR review before I even consider buying.

It seems like tiny houses are only cool when they're on a giant beautiful lot out in the country. In the city, they're just dreadfully small apartments. ... but if you have a giant beautiful lot out in the country, why not build a normal size house? I don't get it.

So true! There were a ton of actually useful items they should have included instead of a few regular items that only have a different style to them.

Got to say, having played it for a bit, this pack is very overpowered. It makes everything VERY easy. Meet someone new? Say hello then take some photos with them and your relationship will literally be full. Want to learn a new skill? The bar will fill up so quickly you’ll be L10 before you know it! Want to grow some plants? They’ll grow and evolve so quickly you’ll have a perfect garden in a couple of seasons! It really reduces the amount of gameplay, as it makes everything so easy to achieve. Not the best.

aaah... this is the review I've been waiting for, and I agree they've missed the opportunity to add spiral ladder and regular ladder for Build Option for this SP to make the purchase worth it I hope they bring it up on their next update

"I like tiny living" - man is obsessed with giant old computers and has one of the biggest big box pc game collections around..

"funniest" shit its how in future packs we see stuff that CLEARLY was supposed to have been added in Tiny Living, like ladders and bunkbeds (that even allow desks underneath)

Spiral stairs were present even in Sims 2. I'm not mad that I've missed out on Sims 4...

I've been obsessing over buying sims packs for a couple months now, but thank god i found this channel, otherwise i'd currently be wasting my money on a bunch of stuff that isn't even high quality. Thank you LGR!

Stuff and some game packs are literally leftovers from expansion packs that EA cuts out to milk more money. You can easily combine some of the packs and no one would notice. My First Pet with Cats and Dogs. Spooky stuff, Laundry Day, and Perfect Patio should've been with Seasons. Backyard, Cool Kitchen, Kid's Room, and Toddlers with Parenthood and call it an expansion. Moschino, Luxury Party, and Vintage Glamor into Get Famous. Tiny Living and Fitness into City Living. Movie Hangout and Romantic Garden with Get Together. You could even put Dine Out and Spa Day into Get to Work.

There's something fascinating about Clint discussing Sims. I wish I was this passionate about a game.

This game is really shameful with all of it's dlc. I wouldn't have bought the base game if I'd knew it would be this way.

You can make sorta spiral stair cases. They're more squared and I can't check how much or little room it takes but I've used it a lot lately

I just want a really big neighborhood filled with a lot of other families and fun locations. This has been the biggest fun killer for me with Sims 4. The scope of the world around you just feels so small.

The murphy bed death looks like it broke the "death pose thing being the game, 'curled up' and stuff" rule, check the other deaths in the game, it's the only one I know

Before you talked about the "murphy beds" being in the University pack, was about to type that. Honestly if i had the University pack, I'd buy this pack to put most of this stuff in that pack cause they look like they go with it.... I may get it to put it with City Living (cause they'd go good with the apartments too)

While I agree with most of this about the stairs and ESPECIALLY THE BUNK BEDS... You can always delete the wall under the stairs for more space

Next we'll get the Green Stuff Pack that can only be used if you have this Tiny Living EP, because it uses water buts, solar panels and so forth that can only be used on tiny homes.

watching your LGR Plays of this pack was so frustrating lol, and not your fault at all either! I'm super interested in tiny homes as well and the lack of true tiny home features/signatures was disappointing. your suggestions would've been perfect, and I think it could've also been improved by new functional animations to account for smaller spaces, e.g. climbing onto a double-bed from the front if it's blocked off on the sides. I'm shocked they didn't add loft beds too... almost every tiny house irl I've seen uses a loft bed.

You know how youtubers have 100+ vídeos on tiny sims houses ? This pack was madre for them.

I basically build nothing but tiny homes now ever since I've seen RU-vidrs do tiny home challenges for the sims 4 prior to this pack ever being released (I normally do 8x8 or 7x7 homes)

I've had the Murphy bed work well twice in my game - an extra bed and decoration in a strangely wide hallway and in that little trailer in Strangetown to give me both a double bed and a couch. Most of the time it's just annoying and difficult to fit into an actual tiny build. Also the style of it only fits with other furniture from the Tiny Living pack, which is very irritating considering I dislike the style. Idk why they didn't make a couple different versions of it.

Wake me up when Sims is good again.

This is altogether more realistic - I have always felt every single building in every single game is WAY too big - bathrooms that look like they're 500 square feet, or hallways that are 20 feet wide. Pick any 3D game and you'll realize that most houses are the size of that borderline mansion in "Home Alone".

EA : *made a pack about tiny house without real tiny house necessities* Me : seriously? Theres people called cc and mod creator, which creations are a lot better than this pack, and which makes them better for making a tiny house than the actual pack, without needing to pay 10 bucks.

Sims 4 sells concepts. Doesn’t mean they actually make them work or something. “We call it Tiny Living, that should be enough, use your imagination.” Miniturized sims would be an amazing idea by the way!

i would really appreciate if you ranked every single pack because my nephew is loving this game and i am thinking of getting him packs others extremely recommend, hope your open to this idea it would be greatly appreciated

Small houses = Tiny living Small apartments = Rough living Seriously, tiny houses are for rich hipsters and you KNOW there's enough of that in that game. I would've loved for once EA included an "Economy/Blue collar pack", just so there's a real challenge to make tiny living in a bigger, more realistic, noticeable gap between the snooty celebs and their mansions from Get Famous, middle class neighborhoods like Brindleton Bay from Cats and Dogs and the trailer park working class Strangerville. I'm not talking about just crap like a cheap looking items like a small TV or apartment blocks, I'm talking thrift shop clothes, big bundles of CDs, chairs missing parts, duct tape mended furniture - Some sort of combination between city living, strangerville and that Broke family house from the Sims 2.

also for years I've been wanting foldable couches in the sims 4...... I've thought about tweeting it but I know my voice won't be heard

Mods I require to like this stuff pack (that unfortunately don't exist at this point as far as I know): One that allows you to get into a bed from the bottom One that allows CC bunk beds to be functional (which are bizarrely not a part of this pack) One that STOPS THE DUMB MURPHY BED FAILS One that allows sims to scoot over again (WHY DID THEY GET RID OF THAT???) EA sucks at the moment.

Your review actually persuaded me to not get it. Lol I was excited about it but seeing the items that come with it helped me make up my mind. Thanks so much! I'll stick with what I have

my sim only had his murphy bed for 5 days before getting absolutely clapped to death. wish it wasn't so common.

Murphy beds have a very high chance to kill you, and even once you get them working, _they only restore 1 energy anyway_

Im gonna make a studio apartment out of this in city living and a college dorm or use this in the kids room

Y’know, a lot of the things you were wishing were included instead of the Murphy beds were actually either in the base original Sims or its first expansion disc Livin’ Large. Really makes you wonder why EA is so incompetent at adding stuff that Maxis figured out how to add way back in the original Sims and its expansions.

Living in 74 sq/m house and renting out 100 sq/m storage units to keep your stuff in , Tiny Living my ass...............

I have been dying for ladders and bunk beds basically since the base game, and when this pack was announced, I thought, "Finally! After all these years, it's finally gonna happen! They can't make a pack designed to help your sim live in a tiny space without ladders and bunk beds!" Alas... I highly overestimated the Sims team... Oh well, at least we got homicidal beds. Huzzah.

As always, your review is spot on. I can't believe this game has been out for SO long and they're still limping out these half assed packs. No ladders, spiral staircases, bunk beds or stackable oven microwaves is seriously unforgivable at this point. I don't know who is making these decisions at EA, but it fucking SUCKS. I only find myself entertained playing the 100 baby challenge in the Sims 4 but always go back to Sims 3 to really have fun in the game.

Sleeping in a murphy bed is a fair exchange for death

You need to try out Transport Fever 2, it seems like the game that you and your audience will enjoy, it's a hell of a good game too.

Liked the Murphy bed. But killed my sim quickly. Had to update the Murphy bed and just in case used the ‘no death’ cheat. For the first time ever. Spiral staircases would have been much more useful. And wish they had added a double bed that matches the single bed in tiny living.

Bunk beds, loft beds, and ladders could've made this pack worth. But they gave us one type of "new gameplay" object that is pretty cumbersome to use and takes up a huge chunk of space for a tiny home. Guess we'll be waiting for them to be included in "Bunk Bed Living" or "My First Ladder" stuff pack :/. And an amazing review as always, Clint!

I feel like this pack was just an excuse for them to add the Murphy bed that everyone wanted in University. Like you said, they could've done so much better with bunk beds, spiral stairs and ladders, they're the things I think of when it comes to tiny living, not Murphy beds.

I hope that one day they will release a random pack called "Things you all wanted" and give us all the useful stuff we want with the description saying "That's it, we give up. We can't think of more poorly designed unuseful stuff so we're just going to give you what you want."

This seems more like leftover University stuff than tiny home stuff.

In the Tiny living live stream, they said bunk beds were "too expensive for the budget" which is why they weren't added. 🙄 right... yet modders can make them just fine, not to mention they had them in sims 3. They really missed the opportunity for lofts and ladders and actual compact and sensible beds.

Sims 4 content is just lazy at this point, they glanced at the aesthetic of tiny houses without understanding any of the actual functionality of them. But I guess it’s a lot to expect value for our money...
