I used to work night shift at a factory...I'd get off a 12 hour shit...get a six pack...ride old dirt roads at 10 mile an hour...and listen to this and watch the sun come up...
I've been listening this over 10 years. Still I didn't find a better version of no:24. I believe that No:24 cannot be played better than this. The only bad side of this performance is the video quality.
@@LiwaySaGu, have you heard this performance by John Williams? Better tonal control, uses different tone at the right time together with his phrasing. He is the best, in my opinion: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Z4hI0fqoqSI.html
I have found my clan.. there is no better version, this is perfection in its truest form and the sheer scale of her nuance makes up for poor recording quality.. which it was masterfully recorded just overly compressed over the years on youtoobs.. to get the original recording would be devine
THANK YOU, Ms Li !!! Wow . . . This is the benchmark; in my opinion, the best performance of Caprice Nº24. Wonderful! Amazing tone, even in the fastest passages. Great phrasing. For the first time, I was able to enjoy the phrasing, despite the blinding velocity inherent in the work.
Phenomenal- the depth and intensity> she is putting everything in her, heart and soul, into her playing. There are no words sufficient to adequately describe her genius!
Holy crap. This is one of the better classical guitar performances I have seen. Just amazing. As a guitarist myself, I can fully appreciate and respect the extreme talent we all have the privilege of watching in the video. Utterly jaw-dropping.
There is emotion in this performance, people are just to blind to see it, the way she has perfected to play shows the emotion and love that she has for music, just because some people dont dance when they play is doesn't mean they love music less, any true musician would know this
Best performance of this piece on a classical guitar that I have ever heard. Hasn´t ever been topped since I first heard it over 10 years ago, and I doubt that it will ever be.
Hands down this is the best version I've seen and listened on youtube. Played with confidence and the execution is super clean. An audience could't ask for more. Brava.
I only know enough about guitars to know how many modes, styles, and patterns are implemented here. Maybe if I were started at an age before 25 and had an actual talent.... I could almost fake one or two of these fantastic sections of this piece. I know enough to be in awe, but not enough to really appreciate the sheer amount of talent effortlessly dumped into this flawless rendition of a piece repurposed to another instrument (beyond what my imagination could ever render). Smart enough to know I'm to dumb to know what is really going on here. I have appreciated this recording for years, and imagine I will continue to enjoy it for years to come.
This is the only perfect RU-vid video, absolutely noone on this planet alien or otherwise can find anything that couldn’t be done better than Li Jie’s performance here.
This is more than stunning! This lady can take her place among the great guitarists. I'm very impressed by this perfectness and ofcourse charmed by this enormous and absolutely pure musical expression.
it is amazing performance and she owns a unique spirit while playing, happy the guy who can get it. thank you very much this was my childhood dreams. you restored my soal.
I saw her at Universal Citywalk in LA last month. She was on her break and sitting next to some other musician guy. I wish I could have stayed and listened. It was in front of Jamba Juice where the Argentinian pan piper is always playing. People from L.A. know what im talking about?
LI JIE born 1981 china, started playing at 11 under Professor CHEN ZHI her solo dvd is on SHINE HORN called CLASSICAL GUITAR. All these vids are from that DVD recorded about 11 yrs ago. I have tried to get the DVD but had no luck here in England Hope this helps PELIVIER Good luck
To echo what everyone is stating: this is by far the best performance of this piece. Hands down. Like so many others I remember watching this in the early to mid 2000s and being absolutely blown away by this. Even almost 20 years later it’s still incredible.
I Always return to this masterpiece at least once a year, her precision and feeling is absolutely perfect. Jascha Heifetz rules the violin, but Li Jie is the undisputed guiutar master!
I'd like to add, Ms. Li is right up there with Ida Presti, having added her own brand of perhaps unequalled musicianship--technique, phrasing and tone.
Absolutely amazing. Even the thought of memorising this piece is astounding, let alone playing it with such mastery. Anyone complaining about this performance - just step up with your guitar and give the rest of us a laugh..........
such a good interpretation. I never get sick of her version. I've listened to the original violin version but felt that it lacked emotion... Li Jie + guitar + wonderful song = awesomeness.
this is incredible. she is so good at that. cant stop listening to this it's such a good rendition of one of the best classical pieces ever. she should play rhythm guitar for yngwie malmsteen that would be amazing.
These are old videos..she was about 14 and had been playing for about 3 years at the time. Shes about 33 or so now and probably a whole lot better! :D Hell I can't play like that and I've been playing a LOT longer than 3 years.
This was uploaded in 2006 so your time is a little off. She was either 12-14 when she first appeared on TV in 1993 or 19-20 when she appeared on TV again in 2000 while a student at the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music
No, this may have been POSTED in the 2000's, but this is from a program on the Chinese national broadcast (CCTV) show "Classical Guitar's Technique and Performance", she was 12 here and this perfomance occured one year after she had begun playing...it occured in 1992-93
There's no way a guitarist no matter how talented they are can develop that kind of technique in a year, I've heard she was 15 at the time of this recording. Even John Williams took about 6 years to get his out of this world technique.
Julián Navarro *shrug* and yet there it is, you can find all the information on the program, when it aired and where easily enough online, compare the air date to her birth year and the time she began to train (which you can find online too, her Wikipedia article for example explains when and with whom she began training), it's honestly just a matter of doing the math. given that we have examples of Chopin, Gould, Mozart and so on who began conducting at 7, 6 and 4 respectively it's not impossible. Akin Camara was performing with the Marzahn Hellersdorf School of Music at 2... there's a reason we call them child prodigies, ever hear of a savant? same idea, just with music, some people can just suck up theory and technique like a sponge, no doubt she also did nothing else BUT practice that entire year...
Toca maravillosamente bién. No he encontrado quien toque mejor. Tal vez Paco de lucía en lo suyo (El Flamenco) pero encuentro que esta jovencita tiene un talento excepcional.
She has received tremendous international attention and has highly praised by many celebrated masters, such as Professor Michael Lewin of The Royal Academy of Music, John Williams, Alexander Sergei Ramirez, and Lachine Suzuki, to name a few -wiki obviously youtubers speaking ill of her has no idea what they are listening to
