This gives me anxiety. Switching sides back and front and then going back to fill in the circles, not to mention the skin touching the paper!! Yikes. A bunch of no no’s.
The nurse used to tell us the day before the heel prick was taking place and to put 2/3 pairs of socks on baby so the feet were nice and warm and easier to collect blood from, it worked too,
No gloves, The other tech leaves the room with gloves on, came back in with the same gloves possibly. Why didn't they get a heel warmer for use in the first place? you're supposed to keep those warmers on for at least 5 mins. You're not supposed to go back over the circles on those PKU cards. The foot isn't supposed to touch the card. She was only supposed to wipe off the first drop. Lots of things wrong here.
Muy mal tomada la muestra, nunca la gota de sangre debe rozar el papel de muestras,la gota de sangre debe caer por gravedad, para no contaminsrse.Además la profesional lo debe de hacer con guantes.
Yeah, she's crying and they hadn't even done the heel stick yet! Apparently, she's gonna cry no matter what. They should have given her a pacifier to distract her and soothe her. The mother puts her finger in the baby's mouth to suck on it, that is just nasty and not very hygienic! It's hard to believe they didn't have a pacifier with them.
They're taking a blood sample for (most likely) new born screening, there is nothing experimental about this.. And she is a baby, babies cry. It's their main form of communication. Notice how she calmed right down when she was able to suckle. Nothing bad at all.
